Abstract

The housing (5) for the module (10) is built into the rear, left corner of the bodywork (1) of a motor vehicle. The module contains a box for the source and sensor unit (11), mounted on the swivelling arm (12) connected to a shaft (14) fixed, so that it can rotate, in the box. On this shaft there is a pinion gear (16) engaging with the worm gear (20) keyed on the drive shaft of an electric motor (18). The source and sensor unit possesses a transmitting and receiving surface that the swivelling arm holds in a direction towards the rear in front of an opening in the car. The opening is protected by a shield (15) from dust and water and the side (21) of the arm rests against a stop (22) to ensure correct positioning (R) or (F-not shown).
