Definitions
- the invention relates to an arrangement according to the preamble of claim 1.
- the object of the invention is to provide an arrangement according to the preamble of claim 1 which is easy to install and does not require any critical adjustment of individual optical elements.
- An essential advantage of the solution according to the invention is that a plurality of infrared transmitters arranged on one side of the room area interact with only one common infrared receiver, which is attached on the other side of the room area. If the receiver has a correspondingly wide detection angle, no critical optical alignment with the transmitter is required.
- the light beams from the transmitters to the receiver form at least two light barriers that meet in the receiver. However, the light barriers must be distinguishable to the extent that an evaluation unit provided in the receiver can identify the respective light barrier and thus recognize its spatial positioning.
- a logic circuit belonging to the receiver then only has to determine the direction of movement of the person interrupting the light barriers from the determined sequence of the interruptions registered at the light barriers.
- the subject of the invention can be further developed the infrared transmitters are mounted on the wall surface of a wall delimiting the room area at such a large distance from one another that the light barriers enclose a correspondingly large room area extending in the horizontal direction.
- the light barriers formed within this area are so far apart that the receiver can easily distinguish the individual light barriers in the event of an interruption.
- a particularly simple method for forming several infrared transmitters is to apply electrically heatable conductors, preferably thin wires, to the wall surface with a defined resistance such that they extend vertically along the wall surface and are arranged at predetermined distances from one another. Care must be taken here that the dimensions of the wall area provided with heatable conductors are matched to the detection area of the receiver.
- the infrared receiver can react with approximately the same sensitivity in both directions of movement, it is advantageous to position it so that the light rays coming from the heatable conductors to the receiver form isosceles triangles with the wall surface.
- a distinction between the installed light barriers is essential for the operation of the arrangement. This is made possible, for example, by the fact that the electrically heatable conductors are connected to a control device which controls individual conductors or certain groups of conductors in such a way that they generate distinguishable infrared signals. This can e.g. in that the control device heats the electrically heatable conductors sequentially in the same order in succession. Alternatively, coding can also take place in that the control device controls the electrically heatable conductors in a different cycle.
- the detection angle of the receiver is matched, but it should also be ensured that the angle included on the receiver between the light barriers is chosen so large that even in the vicinity of the receiver there is a sufficient distance between them for the separate effectiveness of the light barriers.
- the electrically heatable conductors can be applied directly to a finished, possibly papered wall surface, adhering to it, e.g. be revived. But it is also possible to integrate it into a wallpaper and then apply it to the wall with the wallpaper.
- the electrically heatable conductors are so thin and / or that they are to be applied the additional resources required on the wall form only such low contrasts that they remain largely invisible.
- a plurality of infrared transmitters 3 in the form of electrically heatable conductors are applied in a room area 1 serving as a corridor on a wall surface 7 delimiting the corridor.
- These have a defined resistance R1 to Rn, can be controlled individually and run vertically along the wall surface 7 of a wall 8 with a constant mutual horizontal distance.
- R1 to Rn the resistance of the wall surface 7 of a wall 8
- an infrared receiver 4 is fastened, the detection angle of which is so large that even the outermost electrically heatable conductors 3 or the light beams 2 emitted by them are still detected.
- the light beams 2 which expand in a fan-like manner above the horizontal plane and meet in the infrared receiver 4 act as light barriers S, the interruption of which in the infrared receiver 4 causes switching pulses which can be evaluated in a suitable manner to determine the direction of movement of people.
- the infrared receiver 4 can, if it should be necessary for security reasons, be relatively well hidden and the electrically heatable conductor 3 can be integrated into a wallpaper or, in the case of correspondingly thin wires, fasteners can be used in such a way that they are not noticed by an undesired visitor.
- FIG. 3 and 4 illustrate how, with the aid of a sequential control of the electrically heatable conductors 3, distinguishable signals can be generated, from which the direction of movement results after their evaluation.
- a first current pulse is applied to a second electrically heatable conductor with the resistor R2, the first electrically heatable conductor with the resistor R1 reaches a second current pulse, and a further electrically heated conductor with the resistor Rn heats a third current pulse.
- the signal curve shown in FIG. 4 under I at the infrared receiver 4 results. If a person comes from the left, that is with the direction of movement A, they first interrupt the light barrier S with the resistance R1. In diagram II of FIG. 4, the middle pulse is missing. If, on the other hand, a person comes from the right with the direction of movement B, he first interrupts the rightmost light barrier S with the resistance Rn and in diagram III the last pulse is omitted.
- the infrared receiver 4 is now constructed so that it can differentiate between the different signals and determine the direction of movement A, B therefrom.
- FIG. 5 The simple block diagram shown in FIG. 5 is intended to illustrate the functional structure of the arrangement.
- a control device 9 is used to control the infrared transmitter 3, which is done by a current pulse which causes a momentary temperature increase on the respective electrically heatable conductor 3 causes.
- the control device 9 is also connected to the infrared receiver 4. Spatially, the control device 9 can thus be assigned to the infrared receiver 4 or the infrared transmitter 3 and integrated there into one of these structural units or arranged separately.
Abstract
Description
The invention relates to an arrangement according to the preamble of
When monitoring rooms, it is sometimes not only sufficient to detect the presence of people moving in a room, but it can also be very important, especially in the door or corridor area, to determine the direction in which people are moving. For example, one could count the people moving into a room as well as those who leave it to determine whether the room is empty and then, for example, automatically switch off the room lighting.
It is known to determine the direction of movement with the aid of light barriers, which are interrupted by people passing by and thereby deliver an evaluable switching pulse. To determine the direction, at least two light barriers are required, each of which requires its own transmitter and receiver, which must be optically exactly aligned with one another.
As an alternative to this, there is also the occasionally also used possibility of constructing several light barriers using optical deflection elements such as mirrors and prisms, but this also involves considerable installation effort, which in turn is essentially due to the optically exact alignment of the individual elements are caused to each other and particularly affects if a large area, such as a long corridor, is to be included in a surveillance. Another disadvantage of such arrangements is that the optical elements are difficult to hide and the beam path of light barriers, which are conventionally constructed with visible light, can be made visible with difficulty with normal cameras, which is very undesirable in object security applications.
The object of the invention is to provide an arrangement according to the preamble of
This object is achieved by the features characterized in
An essential advantage of the solution according to the invention is that a plurality of infrared transmitters arranged on one side of the room area interact with only one common infrared receiver, which is attached on the other side of the room area. If the receiver has a correspondingly wide detection angle, no critical optical alignment with the transmitter is required. The light beams from the transmitters to the receiver form at least two light barriers that meet in the receiver. However, the light barriers must be distinguishable to the extent that an evaluation unit provided in the receiver can identify the respective light barrier and thus recognize its spatial positioning. A logic circuit belonging to the receiver then only has to determine the direction of movement of the person interrupting the light barriers from the determined sequence of the interruptions registered at the light barriers.
Due to the large detection angle of the infrared receiver used, the subject of the invention can be further developed the infrared transmitters are mounted on the wall surface of a wall delimiting the room area at such a large distance from one another that the light barriers enclose a correspondingly large room area extending in the horizontal direction. The light barriers formed within this area are so far apart that the receiver can easily distinguish the individual light barriers in the event of an interruption.
A particularly simple method for forming several infrared transmitters is to apply electrically heatable conductors, preferably thin wires, to the wall surface with a defined resistance such that they extend vertically along the wall surface and are arranged at predetermined distances from one another. Care must be taken here that the dimensions of the wall area provided with heatable conductors are matched to the detection area of the receiver.
So that the infrared receiver can react with approximately the same sensitivity in both directions of movement, it is advantageous to position it so that the light rays coming from the heatable conductors to the receiver form isosceles triangles with the wall surface.
A distinction between the installed light barriers is essential for the operation of the arrangement.
When installing the arrangement, it is not sufficient to ensure that the wall surface provided with infrared transmitters is open the detection angle of the receiver is matched, but it should also be ensured that the angle included on the receiver between the light barriers is chosen so large that even in the vicinity of the receiver there is a sufficient distance between them for the separate effectiveness of the light barriers.
The electrically heatable conductors can be applied directly to a finished, possibly papered wall surface, adhering to it, e.g. be revived. But it is also possible to integrate it into a wallpaper and then apply it to the wall with the wallpaper.
On the one hand for reasons of taste so that the appearance of a wall surface is not impaired, and on the other hand because of possibly hidden installation of the optically effective elements, which may be required for safety reasons, it is advantageous if the electrically heatable conductors are so thin and / or that they are to be applied the additional resources required on the wall form only such low contrasts that they remain largely invisible.

As can be seen in FIGS. 1 and 2, a plurality of
On the wall opposite the
If no person comes and none of the light barriers S is interrupted, the signal curve shown in FIG. 4 under I at the
The simple block diagram shown in FIG. 5 is intended to illustrate the functional structure of the arrangement.
