Fig. 1 zeigt einen Längsschnitt durch einen erfindungsgemäßen Druckmaschinenzylinder 1 dargestellt, jedoch ohne einen Kanal und ohne Greifereinrichtung. Die üblicherweise in einem oder mehreren Kanälen 32 angeordneten Einrichtung, wie Platten- oder Gummituchspann- oder Greifereinrichtungen werden auch bei den folgenden Ausführungsvarianten generell nicht dargestellt. Die Fig. 1 zeigt im Längsschnitt eine erfindungsgemäße Lösung für einen einteiligen Druckmaschinenzylinder 1 mit Schwingungsdämpfung. Der Zylindermantel 2 ist mit den Stirnseiten 3; 4 und die Stirnseiten 3; 4 sind mit den in axialer Richtung verlaufenden Achszapfen 12; 13 fest verbunden. In dem Raum, der von dem Zylindermantel 2 und den Stirnseiten 3; 4 des Druckmaschinenzylinders 1 gebildet wird, sind Kugeln 37 eingefüllt. Die Kugeln 37 besitzen vorzugsweise einen Durchmesser von 2,5 bis 3 mm und sollten aus Stahl sein. Die Kugeln 37 können durch die Einfüllöffnungen 26 eingebracht werden. Die Kugeln 37 dienen sowohl als Kern als auch als schwingungsdämpfendes Material. Das Verdichten der Kugeln 37 kann durch Rütteln erfolgen. Zusätzlich kann noch eine Vorspann-Einrichtung im Inneren des Druckmaschinenzylinders 1 angeordnet sein, welche die Kugeln 37 im Bedarfsfalle weiter verdichtet. Durch den Kanalschlag wird der Zylindermantel 2 zu Schwingungen angeregt. Diese Schwingungen werden auf die an der Innenseite des Zylindermantels 2 anliegenden Kugeln 37 übertragen. Der Zylinderkanal ist der Bereich, in dem die Schwingungen erzeugt werden. Es können ein oder mehrere Kugelbehälter montiert sein. Vorteilhaft ist es auch, mehrere Kugelbehälter so anzubringen, daß ein zusätzliches Auswuchten entfallen kann.
