    Claims (11)

    1. A printing machine of the kind comprising, in the manner of a gilding press, a plate (11) mounted movably with respect to an article-carrier support (12) for application to the article (13) to be printed of a sheet (14) suited to the desired printing, characterised in that the plate (11) is curved in contact with a support block (15) mounted pivotably on an application head (16) which is itself mounted movably with respect to the article-carrier support (12) transversely with respect thereto, and that for the desired pivotable mounting curved guide means (24) are operatively disposed between the support block (15) for the plate (11) and the application head (16).
    2. A printing machine according to claim 1 characterised in that the guide means (24) comprise curved openings (26) and rollers (28) engaged with said openings (26).
    3. A printing machine according to claim 2 characterised in that on the one hand the openings (26) belong to the application head (16), said application head (16) comprising two parallel side plates (25) between which the support block (15) for the plate (11) moves and each of which has, at a spacing from each other, two openings (26), and on the other hand the rollers (28) belong to said support block (15), two pairs of rollers (28) being mounted rotatably on a plate portion (27) with which said support block (15) is in fixed relationship, each being engaged with an opening (26) in said side plates (25).
    4. A printing machine according to claim 3 characterised in that the two openings (26) that each of the side plates (25) of the application head (16) has are disposed in back-to-back relationship.
    5. A printing machine according to either one of claims 3 and 4 characterised in that the concavity of the openings (26) in the two side plates (25) of the application head (16) is towards the side opposite to the article-carrier support (12).
    6. A printing machine according to claim 2 characterised in that on the one hand the openings (26) belong to the support block (15) for the plate (11) and on the other hand the rollers (28) belong to the application head (16).
    7. A printing machine according to any one of claims 1 to 6 characterised in that, by way of an arm (33) with respect to which it is fixed, the support block (15) for the plate (11) is coupled to a double-acting jack (34) mounted oscillatingly on the application head (16).
    8. A printing machine according to any one of claims 1 to 7 characterised in that the support block (15) for the plate (11) comprises a heating sole member (20).
    9. A printing machine according to claim 8 characterised in that the support block (15) for the plate (11) is in two parts, namely a fixed part which forms the heating sole member (20) and a removable part (22) which carries the plate (11).
    10. A printing machine according to either one of claims 8 and 9 characterised in that the heating sole member (20) is flat.
    11. A printing machine according to any one of claims 1 to 10 characterised in that the surface (18) of the support block (15), in contact with which the plate (11) is curved, is a cylindrical surface of circular section whose generatrices are parallel to the article-carrier support (12).
