Eine Falztrommel 1 besteht aus einer linken und einer
rechten Seitenscheibe 2; 3, welche jeweils an ihren
diametralen Seiten in Peripherienähe sowohl durch eine
Traverse 4 als auch durch eine seitenscheibenfest
rotierbar in Kugellagern 6; 7 gelagerte
Falzmesserspindel 8 in einem Abstand, welcher der
Falztrommellänge entspricht, verbunden sind. Die
Falztrommel 1 ist mittels an den Seitenscheiben 2; 3
befestigter Achszapfen 9; 11 sowie über Kugellager 12;
13 und Buchsen 14; 16 beidseitig in Seitengestellen 17;
18 rotierbar gelagert. Das Ende des ersten Achszapfens 9
ist kraft- oder formschlüssig mit einem Antriebsrad,
z. B. einer Zahnriemenscheibe 19 verbunden, z. B.
mittels eines bekannten doppelkeilförmig wirkenden
Ringspannelementes 21. An den Umfang der ersten
Seitenscheibe 2 schließt sich in axialer Richtung zum
Seitengestell 17 ein ringförmiges, sich koaxial zum
Achszapfen 9 erstreckendes Gehäuse 22 an, welches
mittels eines kreisringförmigen Deckels 23 in Richtung
Achszapfen 9 verschlossen ist. Das Gehäuse 22 nimmt ein
mittels Kugellager 24 rotierbar auf dem Achszapfen 9
gelagertes Antriebszahnrad 26 auf. Das Antriebszahnrad
26 ist mit einem sich außerhalb des Gehäuses 22; 23 in
Richtung Seitengestell 17 erstreckenden mittels eines
Kugellagers 27 rotierbar auf dem Achszapfen 9
angeordneten Antriebsrad, z. B. einer Zahnriemenscheibe
28, fest verbunden. Ein linker Achszapfen 29 der
Falzmesserspindel 8 ragt ebenfalls in das Gehäuse 22; 23
hinein und trägt ein Zahnrad 31, welches mittels einer
Paßfeder 32 drehfest mit dem Achszapfen 29 verbunden
ist. Dabei kämmt das Zahnrad 31 der Falzmesserspindel 8
mit dem rotierbar auf dem Achszapfen 9 der Falztrommel 1
angeordneten Antriebszahnrad 26. Die Falzmesserspindel 8
trägt einseitig an ihrem Umfang ein Falzmesser 33,
welches durch ein nichtgezeigtes Gegengewicht
kompensiert ist. Infolge der Verringerung der
Zahnradpaarungen auf eine Zahnradpaarung 26; 31 wird das
Spiel des Falzmessers 33 reduziert.A
Eine weitere Reduzierung des Spiels des Falzmessers 33
kann dadurch erzielt werden, daß dem Zahnrad 31 ein
sogenannter Beiläufer 34 zugeordnet wird. Der Beiläufer
34 besteht aus einem Zahnkranz, ebenfalls mit 34
bezeichnet, welcher bei gleichem Außendurchmesser mit
dem Zahnrad 31 reibschlüssig am oder neben dem Zahnrad
31 angeordnet ist und welcher mittels eines
tellerfederbelasteten mit dem Achszapfen 29 der
Falzmesserspindel 8 drehfest verbundenen Ringflansches
36 stirnseitig an des Zahnrad 31 angepreßt wird. Dabei
weist der Beiläufer 34 an seinem Umfang z. B. eine um
einen Zahn geringere Zahnteilung auf, so daß das Zahnrad
31 stets auf Vorspannung gehalten wird. Ein
Tellerfederpaket ist mit 37 bezeichnet und wird mittels
einer Scheibe 41 sowie eines auf dem Achszapfen 29
befindlichen Gewindes mittels einer Wellenmutter 42
gespannt. Das Gehäuse 22 ist mittels seines Deckels 23
sowie eines Wellendichtringes 38 und eines Distanzringes
39 gegen den linken Achszapfen 9 zum Schutz gegen
ölaustritt abgedichtet. Weitere Wellendichtringe,
Distanzringe, Dichtscheiben und dgl. sind bekannt und
