Abstract

The electric oven has a cooking space (3) behind the door (4) which is heated by an element (5). To protect its housing (1) and neighbouring furniture and esp. electronic controls, the fan (6) suitably positioned on the housing is operated (7) under electronic control from a temp. sensor (8) on the metallic housing (9) of an interior lamp (10) on the back wall (11). The temp. sensor is a PTC resistor providing a signal to start the fan when the temp. exceeds a preset level. The heat source represented by the oven and its lamp is accurately monitored so as to keep the fan running for as long as overheating is to be expected.

Description

The present invention relates to a baking / roasting oven with oven heating and with at least one lighting device for illuminating the interior of the oven muffle and with a thermostatically controlled motor fan for cooling the housing.

It is common practice to control the heating elements of a muffle heater by means of thermostats, since treatment conditions which are easy to control for the food to be cooked are thereby achieved. Depending on the type of cooking or treatment of the food to be cooked, appropriate cooking temperatures can be selected, compliance with which is arranged by the thermostat, whose thermal sensor is obviously arranged within the oven muffle and expediently aligned with the heating sources.

On the one hand to protect the furniture or the built-in body in the case of built-in baking / roasting ovens, and on the other hand to protect electronic components used against overheating or overheating it has become known to use motor fans which, in combination with suitable air ducts, in particular the electronic components, also cool the area around the furnace muffle by the air flow generated. Fan systems of this type are also required in particular in furnaces which use pyrolytic self-cleaning to clean the furnace muffle. In known arrangements, different criteria are used to control the fan motor. For example, it may be sufficient, and this is often the case with pure microwave ovens, that the fan motor is only controlled and operated during the heating power processes during the switch-on time. However, it has also proven expedient to implement after operating times for the control of a motor fan after an operating time of the baking / roasting oven. Furthermore, it has also become known to use thermocouples which measure the temperature at points deemed expedient in the problematic areas to be cooled. In this context, it is also known to detect the furnace muffle temperature itself, for example by leading a metal bracket to the wall of the baking / roasting space, which is connected to a temperature-dependent switch for controlling the motor fan.

Building on this prior art, it is the object of the present invention to provide a control for a motor fan for cooling the housing, which is on the one hand functional and on the other hand as simple as possible.

A control for a motor fan for cooling the housing, which meets these requirements, is characterized according to the invention in that the thermocouple of the thermostat control unit for the motor fan is contacted with the wall of a housing part of the furnace muffle lighting device protruding outwards from the furnace muffle.

A thermostat control for the motor fan for cooling the housing according to the features according to the invention is characterized in that the mounting and coupling of the thermocouple of this thermostat control unit to the housing wall of the muffle interior lighting of the lighting device serving for the muffle interior lighting is particularly simple and without special measures is efficient. The thermal sensor only needs, e.g. using a fastening tab to which, for safety reasons, cooling reasons and heat load reasons, metallic housing walls of the lighting device are connected from the outside. The temperature of the muffle wall is securely brought up to the thermal sensor via the housing wall of the lighting device and, in addition, the thermal power of the lighting device is also subjected to thermal energy. As a result, the thermal sensor responds shortly after the oven lighting is switched on and the motor fan for the housing cooling is activated via the downstream thermostat control unit and maintains this mode of operation beyond the heating phases at least until the oven lighting is switched off.

Since the oven lighting is regularly switched on longer than the oven heating, the arrangement according to the invention of the thermal sensor means that it is most likely to be at the warmest point of the oven muffle, so that the thernostat-controlled fan motor with a very high safety guarantee is sufficiently durable cools. A separate time control of the motor fan or special measures for run-on control can therefore be omitted.

According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the temperature sensor is a temperature-dependent, strongly variable resistor with a positive temperature-coefficient behavior. The resistance value of the temperature sensor resulting from the temperature on the wall of the furnace lighting is evaluated when the resistance of the motor fan is reached and the motor fan is switched off when the temperature falls below this threshold, since it can then be assumed that no problematic temperature is guaranteed is present in the area to be cooled, since heat supply from warmer areas is no longer to be expected.

An embodiment equipped according to the features of the invention is briefly described below. Show it:

Fig. 2
also schematically shows a partial view in the area of the oven lighting.

In Fig. 1, a built-in oven is shown in a schematic view, the baking / roasting space 3 formed from a muffle 2 is closed by an appliance door 4. The baking / roasting space 2 is heated by a radiator 5. Around the housing of the built-in oven 1 and thus also the neighboring furniture and in particular also electronic control devices of high or too high temperatures protect, the built-in oven 1 is provided with a motor fan 6, which is arranged at a suitable point in the oven housing. The fan motor 6 is controlled by thermostat electronics 7, the control signal being supplied by a thermal sensor 8 which is flanged to the housing 9 of an oven light 10. On the one hand, this housing 9, which, for thermal reasons in particular, usually consists of metal, is in thermal connection with the muffle wall 11 of the baking / roasting space 2 and is also exposed to the temperature prevailing inside the baking / roasting space 2.

When a predetermined temperature in the area of the housing 9 of the lighting device 10 is exceeded, the thermocouple 8, which is designed as a strongly variable resistor with a positive temperature characteristic (PTC), outputs an electrically evaluable value to the thermostat control circuit 7 so that the motor fan 6 is started sets, which ensures sufficient cooling in the device housing. The heat source that heats the device housing is the baking / roasting space 2 and, as a transition point, its 11th place. Since this heat source is detected almost unadulterated via the housing 9 of the lighting device 10 and additionally the heat of the lighting device 10 itself is detected, it is ensured that the motor fan 6 is guaranteed to be in operation as long as increased heat can be expected.

With the help of these measures, it is therefore possible to dispense with a separate run-on control for the motor fan 6.
