Definitions
- the present invention relates to a device for dividing a moving paper web, which is wound on a drum, thereby enabling it to be wound on an empty drum, consisting of a tear tape made of paper.
- Such a tear tape which must have great tensile strength and high rigidity, has hitherto been produced from a large number of paper cords lying side by side and glued to one another. To achieve the gluing process, the paper cords are wetted over their entire surface with a water-soluble adhesive. Since they are subsequently pressed together, they stick together on the contact surfaces. After the adhesive has dried, the tear tape thus produced is wound up into a roll.
- a known tear tape of this type has several disadvantages: Since the cords are wetted over their entire circumference with adhesive during manufacture, the tear tape wound into a spool can stick together under the influence of moisture. Furthermore, under the influence of moisture, the paper cords glued together can come apart, which increases the strength of the tear tape is reduced and, moreover, malfunctions can be caused when it is used.
- Another disadvantage of this known tear tape is that the individual paper cords from which it is made must have a minimum diameter, which means that this tear tape has a minimum thickness, which therefore has disadvantageous effects when such a tape is used to divide paper webs with a relatively low paper weight can cause, since the paper web is damaged.
- flat layers of adhesive which are applied to such a tear tape and which serve to fasten the tear tape to the empty spool in order to subsequently initiate the separation process of the paper web, only adhere to a tear tape formed by paper cords along the outside horizontal lines of the paper cords, whereby these adhesive layers can be detached.
- the object of the present invention is therefore to provide a tear tape made of paper, by means of which the disadvantages inherent in the known tear tape made from individual cords are avoided.
- This is achieved according to the invention in that the tear tape is formed by at least one multiply folded paper strip is, the adjacent layers of the paper strip are at least partially glued to each other.
- the two lateral areas of the paper strip can be bent several times.
- the two lateral regions of the paper strip are preferably bent over on one side.
- the two lateral areas of the paper strip are bent over on different sides.
- the two side edges of the paper strip can be located approximately in the middle of the tear tape.
- the two lateral areas of the paper strip are bent over on one side, where they overlap and the two side edges of the paper strip are preferably located in the area of the two side edges of the tear tape.
- an insert formed by at least one further paper tape can be arranged between the at least two layers of the paper strip and is also glued to the paper strip.
- the insert can be formed by a multi-layer, possibly also folded paper strip.
- the insert can be formed by a paper strip provided with adhesive on both sides or by a strip of adhesive.
- the at least one paper strip is made of paper material with a long fiber orientation.
- this tear tape flexible in the transverse direction, it can also be provided with grooves or the like running in the longitudinal direction or be corrugated in its transverse direction.
- the paper thicknesses and the number of paper layers By selecting the paper thicknesses and the number of paper layers, it can be manufactured with any tensile strength and rigidity, which enables precise adjustment to the thickness or Quality of the paper of the paper web that is to be divided can be achieved. Since there is no adhesive on the outside of the tear tape, no sticking of the unwound tear tape can be caused. Rather, since the adhesive is only inside the tear tape, the bond is prevented from being loosened by moisture, thereby reducing the tensile strength of the tear tape.
- a tear tape made from multilayer paper tapes glued to one another by means of a water-soluble adhesive is easier to dissolve in the recycling process and is therefore easier to recycle.
- such a tear tape is cut off along an approximately straight edge, as a result of which no paper residues are caused which can cause malfunctions in the conveying channel.
- this ensures an optimal course when dividing the paper web. Since such a tear tape also has an approximately flat surface, flat layers of adhesive adhere to it so well that they cannot be detached.
- such a tear tape can be made in unlimited lengths.
- 1 to 9 show different embodiments of a tear tape according to the invention, each in an axonometric representation.
- a tear tape according to the invention is formed from a paper strip which is folded several times, the layers of the paper strip lying against one another being glued to one another by means of a water-soluble adhesive.
- the adhesive is located inside the tear tape and the outside of it is kept free of adhesive.
- the tear tape is formed from a paper strip 1, the lateral regions 11 and 12 of which are bent over on one side over the central region 10 in such a way that their longitudinal edges lie close together.
- the layers lying one against the other are glued to one another by means of a layer 13 of an adhesive.
- This tear tape which is two-ply, thus has two longitudinal edges 14 and 15 formed by folds, through which the separation process of the paper web is initiated.
- FIG. 2 shows a tear tape according to the invention, which is formed from a paper strip 2, the lateral regions 21 and 22 of which are folded over one another over the central region 20 and connected to one another by means of adhesive layers 23, whereby a three-layer tear tape is formed, the two side edges 24 of which and 25 form the separating edges.
- This tear tape is formed in three layers, it has an increased tensile strength compared to the tear tape according to FIG. 1.
- the tear tape shown in FIG. 3 differs from the tear tape according to FIG. 2 in that the two lateral areas 31 and 32 of the paper tape 3 are folded onto different sides of the central area 30.
- the individual layers of the paper tape 3 are glued to one another by means of adhesive layers 33.
- the two side edges 34 and 35 form the separating edges.
- the two lateral areas 41 and 42 of the paper tape 4 are bent several times over the central area 40, the individual layers of the tear tape, which has four layers, being connected to one another by means of adhesive layers 43. This results in an even higher rigidity and tear resistance.
- the tear edges are formed by the side edges 44 and 45.
- FIG. 5 shows a tear tape which, according to the exemplary embodiment in FIG. 1, consists of a paper tape 1 is made, the lateral regions 11 and 12 of which are folded towards one another.
- a reinforcing paper tape 5 is provided, the width of which is approximately the same as the width of the tear tape and which is connected to the layers 10, 11 and 12 of the paper tape 1 by means of two adhesive layers 13.
- the insert 5 can also be formed by a carrier tape made of paper, which is coated on both sides with a water-soluble adhesive, or by a carrier-free adhesive tape.
- FIG. 6 another tear tape is shown, which differs from the embodiment of FIG. 5 in that the paper tape 1 encloses three superimposed paper tapes 51, 52, 53, which form a reinforcing insert, and which with the layers of the paper tape 1 are connected by means of several adhesive layers 13.
- a tear tape is shown, which differs from the embodiment of Fig. 1 in that two paper strips 1 and 1a are glued together, the lateral areas 11a and 12a of the outer paper tape 1a bent over the folded paper tape 1 and by means of the inside lying adhesive layers 13 are glued to the other layers.
- a tear tape is shown, the areas 10, 11, 12 of FIG. 1 are enclosed by a second paper tape 1b so that the lateral areas 11, 12 and 11b, 12b of the two paper strips 1 and 1b on different sides of the tear tape.
- FIG. 9 shows a tear tape 8 according to FIG. 8, which is corrugated in the transverse direction and to which a flat adhesive layer 9, which is required for the separation process, is applied. Since this adhesive layer 9 adapts to the ripple Nevertheless, the disadvantages inherent in the prior art are avoided.
- Such a tear tape made of paper can be made in any length.

Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a device for dividing a moving paper web, which is wound on a drum, thereby enabling it to be wound on an empty drum, consisting of a tear tape made of paper.
When winding a paper web manufactured in a plant for the production of paper on spools, the requirement exists, as soon as a spool has reached a predetermined winding diameter, to divide the paper web moving at a speed of about 25 m / second in order to wind the following ones To be able to continue the paper web on an empty spool. A tear tape is used for this, which spirally winds on the empty spool, at the same time dividing the paper web along a spiral line. In order to be able to recycle the tear tape at the same time as the parts of the paper web damaged by the separating process, it is known to manufacture it from paper.
Such a tear tape, which must have great tensile strength and high rigidity, has hitherto been produced from a large number of paper cords lying side by side and glued to one another. To achieve the gluing process, the paper cords are wetted over their entire surface with a water-soluble adhesive. Since they are subsequently pressed together, they stick together on the contact surfaces. After the adhesive has dried, the tear tape thus produced is wound up into a roll.
A known tear tape of this type has several disadvantages:
Since the cords are wetted over their entire circumference with adhesive during manufacture, the tear tape wound into a spool can stick together under the influence of moisture. Furthermore, under the influence of moisture, the paper cords glued together can come apart, which increases the strength of the tear tape is reduced and, moreover, malfunctions can be caused when it is used. Another disadvantage of this known tear tape is that the individual paper cords from which it is made must have a minimum diameter, which means that this tear tape has a minimum thickness, which therefore has disadvantageous effects when such a tape is used to divide paper webs with a relatively low paper weight can cause, since the paper web is damaged. Furthermore, there is a need to manufacture such a tear tape with exact tolerances in order to be able to rule out disruptions in its movement through a conveying channel. However, this requirement can only be met with difficulty with a tear tape made from several cords, since the cords cannot be manufactured with exact sizes.
In addition, when the tear tape is cut, the individual cords are cut off at different points along the longitudinal course of the tear tape, which can also result in malfunctions. Furthermore, tear tapes made from twisted cords are difficult to dissolve in the recycling process.
Finally, flat layers of adhesive, which are applied to such a tear tape and which serve to fasten the tear tape to the empty spool in order to subsequently initiate the separation process of the paper web, only adhere to a tear tape formed by paper cords along the outside horizontal lines of the paper cords, whereby these adhesive layers can be detached.
The object of the present invention is therefore to provide a tear tape made of paper, by means of which the disadvantages inherent in the known tear tape made from individual cords are avoided. This is achieved according to the invention in that the tear tape is formed by at least one multiply folded paper strip is, the adjacent layers of the paper strip are at least partially glued to each other.
The two lateral areas of the paper strip can be bent several times. The two lateral regions of the paper strip are preferably bent over on one side. Alternatively, the two lateral areas of the paper strip are bent over on different sides. The two side edges of the paper strip can be located approximately in the middle of the tear tape.
According to another preferred embodiment, the two lateral areas of the paper strip are bent over on one side, where they overlap and the two side edges of the paper strip are preferably located in the area of the two side edges of the tear tape. Furthermore, an insert formed by at least one further paper tape can be arranged between the at least two layers of the paper strip and is also glued to the paper strip. In particular, the insert can be formed by a multi-layer, possibly also folded paper strip. In addition, the insert can be formed by a paper strip provided with adhesive on both sides or by a strip of adhesive.
According to a further preferred feature, the at least one paper strip is made of paper material with a long fiber orientation. In order to make this tear tape flexible in the transverse direction, it can also be provided with grooves or the like running in the longitudinal direction or be corrugated in its transverse direction.
Such a tear tape avoids all the disadvantages inherent in the known tear tape:
By selecting the paper thicknesses and the number of paper layers, it can be manufactured with any tensile strength and rigidity, which enables precise adjustment to the thickness or Quality of the paper of the paper web that is to be divided can be achieved. Since there is no adhesive on the outside of the tear tape, no sticking of the unwound tear tape can be caused. Rather, since the adhesive is only inside the tear tape, the bond is prevented from being loosened by moisture, thereby reducing the tensile strength of the tear tape.
Furthermore, a tear tape made from multilayer paper tapes glued to one another by means of a water-soluble adhesive is easier to dissolve in the recycling process and is therefore easier to recycle. In addition, such a tear tape is cut off along an approximately straight edge, as a result of which no paper residues are caused which can cause malfunctions in the conveying channel. Furthermore, since such a tear tape has straight but not sharp longitudinal edges, this ensures an optimal course when dividing the paper web. Since such a tear tape also has an approximately flat surface, flat layers of adhesive adhere to it so well that they cannot be detached. Finally, such a tear tape can be made in unlimited lengths.
The object of the invention is explained below with reference to several exemplary embodiments shown in the drawing:
1 to 9 show different embodiments of a tear tape according to the invention, each in an axonometric representation.
In order to achieve the required flexibility of such a tear tape, it can be designed with profiles in the form of a corrugation in the transverse direction. FIG.
