  • the invention described hereinbefore provides a means of applying a label to a container such that the label is in the form of a rolled-on sleeve with minimal or no bonding required between the bottle and the label.
  • This has the advantage of allowing the label to be cut from the bottle with the bottle thereafter being recycled in an undamaged state and, secondly, eliminating or reducing the extent of glue consumables or application equipment being required. This latter aspect of course reduces the capital and running costs of the apparatus required to perform this process of production.

Claims (7)

  1. Vorrichtung zum Aufbringen eines Etiketts (6) auf einen Behälter (3), wobei das Etikett einen thermisch aktivierbaren Klebstoff aufweist und die Vorrichtung eine Heizvorrichtung (9) beinhaltet, mit der eine thermische Verbindung einer Etikettenvorderkante mit einer Etikettenhinterkante erreicht wird, nachdem das Etikett den Behälter (3) umgeben hat, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß vorgenannte Etikettenvorderkante während sich das Etikett um den Behälter wickelt, mit einem nicht-chemischen Medium, ausschließlich Leim oder Klebstoff, oder durch Wasser, in Kontakt mit dem Behälter (3) gehalten wird.
  2. Vorrichtung nach dem vorhergehenden Anspruch 1, wobei es sich bei vorgenanntem nicht-chemischen Medium um statische Elektrizität handelt.
  3. Vorrichtung nach den vorgenannten Ansprüchen, wobei die Heizvorrichtung elektrische Elemente (9) aufweist.
  4. Vorrichtung nach dem vorhergehenden Anspruch 3, mit einer Vakuumtrommel (4), wobei sich vorgenannte elektrische Elemente (9) innerhalb vorgenannter Trommel (4) befinden.
  5. Vorrichtung nach den vorhergehenden Ansprüchen 1 und 2, wobei die Heizvorrichtung (9) eine Heizlampe aufweist, die sich neben der Stelle befindet, an der die thermische Verbindung der Vorderkante mit der Hinterkante des Etiketts (6) erfolgen muß.
  6. Vorrichtung nach den vorhergehenden Ansprüchen 1 und 2, wobei die Heizvorrichtung (9) die aus dem Reibeverlust sich bewegender Teile im Gerät entstehenden Hitze benutzt.
  7. Verfahren zur Anbringung eines Etiketts (6) von einer Etikettenbahn (8) auf einen Behälter (3), wobei die Etikettenbahn (8) mehrere Etiketten (6) und jedes Etikett (6) eine Vorderkante und eine Hinterkante und einen darauf

    vorgedruckten" thermischen Klebestoff aufweist, wobei das Verfahren folgende Schritte beinhaltet:
    a) Trennung des Etiketts (6) von der Etikettenbahn;
    b) das Etikett umgibt den Behälter, wobei die Etikettenvorderkante durch nicht-chemische Medien, ausschließlich Leim, Klebstoffe, oder durch Wasser, in Kontakt mit dem Behälter (3) gehalten wird.
    c) thermische Aktivierung des Klebstoffes durch Wärme zur Verbindung der Vorder- und Hinterkante des Etiketts (6) zur Bildung einer Manschette um den Behälter.
