Abstract

Dispositif d'imagerie acoustique dans lequel un grand nombre de transducteurs (10) sont espacés les uns par rapport aux autres de moins de la moitié d'une longueur d'onde acoustique sur un cercle entourant un objet (9) duquel on doit obtenir des images. Un générateur (26) de signaux génère des fréquences acoustiques discrètes dans la plage allant de 100 kHz à 1,5 MHz. Des systèmes de multiplexeurs (1-8) permettent à chaque transducteur, tour à tour, de diffuser un signal, ce signal étant détecté par les autres transducteurs. Un équipement électronique enregistre les signaux détectés et à partir de ces informations enregistrées, des données de phase et d'amplitude sont calculées par rapport à l'emplacement de chaque transducteur. Un ordinateur (38) programmé avec un algorithme calcule des images de tranches de l'objet en utilisant les données de phase et d'amplitude. Nous utilisons des signaux acoustiques à caractère constant à une seule fréquence, ce qui permet la détermination précise de la phase et de l'amplitude des signaux acoustiques au niveau de chaque transducteur récepteur. Finalement, pour réduire le temps d'acquisition des données et les artefacts dus au mouvement, nous utilisons des signaux acoustiques composés d'une pluralité de fréquences identifiables discrètes, chaque fréquence produisant une image de l'objet.
