Abstract

Each box half is made from a single sheet of card or cellulose. This has four curved tags (17) along one edge as well as two tag strips (18) which are curved and secured under the tags to form the end walls of the box. The box half is formed by winding around a former and with a double skin construction. The tags are on opposite sides of each curved end to fold over each other. The curved tags have a pressed groove pattern (20) which aligns tag strips and which provides support. The two box halves are joined by sliding one half onto an insert fitted into the other box half.

Description

The invention relates to a packaging, in particular a case made of cellulose, preferably cardboard, for preferably substantially elongated objects, such as glasses, writing and drawing utensils or the like, consisting of two halves which can be connected to one another, preferably of essentially the same size, and which have a cavity enclose and in cross-section, in particular round, oval or in some other way descriptive curve, both halves are each wound from a cellulose strip, which is at least double-layered during manufacture and the layers are connected to each other, preferably glued.

Such packaging is known from the prior art. For example, DE-GM 90 04 05 10.5 discloses so-called plug-in cases made of paper mache or cardboard, which consist of two halves that can be connected to one another. These halves are oval in cross section and enclose a cavity, each half being an open one and has a closed, rounded end face. Of the two halves, one half carries a shoulder which is designed in such a way that its outer dimensions match the inner dimensions of the second half, so that the shoulder is held in the second half in a force-locking manner. This insertion technique is usually given to all insertion cases.

In such packaging, however, it is disadvantageous that the closed end faces of the two halves are easily exposed to damage when objects are inserted into the packaging, the longitudinal extent of which is greater than the longitudinal extent of the cavity within the two packaging halves. It is to be stated here that the manufacture of such packaging from cellulose is carried out by wrapping a core which mimics the shape of the cavity with a cellulose strip, whereupon the tubular unit is closed at one end by bending the end of the cellulose strip. Corresponding folding elements of the packaging half are folded towards one another so that the folded folding elements abut one another. The folding elements are then glued together to solidify this end region.

Based on this prior art, the invention has for its object to provide a generic packaging, in particular a generic case made of cellulose, preferably cardboard, that is simple and inexpensive to manufacture and has a high stability, especially in the end areas.

The solution to this problem provides that several, at least two folding tongues and at least two tabs are arranged on one longitudinal side of each cellulose strip, the tabs being arranged in the cavity below and / or above the folding tongues and being connectable, preferably adhesive, to the folding tongues.

Accordingly, it is provided in a packaging according to the invention that each cellulose strip has a straight longitudinal edge, two straight side edges and a further long side, on which folding tongues and tabs are arranged. In the manufacture of a packaging according to the invention, such a cellulose strip is wrapped around a body which imitates the cavity, so that the folding tongues, which are preferably designed in the form of a circular arc, come to lie essentially overlapping one another in at least a double-layer arrangement, and so that the flaps lie opposite, in particular in the region of the narrow sides, of the packaging according to the invention are arranged. The winding form is then removed from the packaging half blank and the two flaps are folded towards one another before the folding tongues are also folded towards one another in a last step and form the end of the packaging half. It goes without saying that an adhesive connection between the regions of each cellulose strip to be arranged on one another is already carried out while the cellulose strip is being wrapped around the winding body. The advantage of the packaging according to the invention is that a substantial improvement in the stability of a packaging half in its end region can be achieved by the at least two tabs. This stability is further increased by the configuration of the folding tongues, since these folding tongues are preferably designed in such a way that folding tongues arranged opposite one another are arranged one above the other and connected to one another.

According to a further feature of the invention it is provided that each folding tongue has at least one, preferably V-shaped notches. This notch has the Advantage that the folding process of the circular-tongue-shaped folding tongues is simplified and that a smooth surface in the area of the ends of the packaging halves can be achieved.

According to a further feature of the invention, it is provided that each cellulose strip has a corrugation formed by embossing in the region of the folding tongues in the form of an arc of a circle. Another advantage of this configuration is a simplified folding process of the folding tongues in the form of a circular arc. For this purpose, it is provided that the corrugation is arranged on the surface of the cellulose strip facing the cavity, so that the corrugation cannot be seen in the area of the outer surfaces of the packaging when the packaging is finished.

A simplification of the folding process of the flaps is achieved in a structurally simple manner in that the corrugation is continued in the area of the flaps. In the production of such cellulose strips, it is therefore advantageous to emboss the corrugations in the cellulose strips before cutting.

Finally, it is provided according to a further feature of the invention that the cellulose strips are ground on their transverse sides on opposite surfaces. Grinding the cellulose strips in the area of the transverse sides on opposite surfaces has the particular advantage that in the interior, i. H. in the cavity of each packaging half there is no visible or only an extremely weak transition edge, so that textile, materials such as velvet in particular can be applied in a simple manner to the inner surfaces of the packaging halves without being caused by transition edges.

Figure 3
a cellulose strip for the production of the packaging half according to Figure 2.

In Figure 1, a case 1 made of cellulose is shown, which consists of two halves 2 and 3, which surround a cavity, not shown, in its interior. The half 3 of the case 1 has a shoulder 4 which is designed such that it can be inserted into the cavity in the half 2 in such a way that a frictional connection is formed between the shoulder 4 of the half 3 and the inner surface of the half 2 when half 3 is plugged together with half 2.

The paragraph 4 is firmly connected to the half 3, preferably glued. The case 1 and the paragraph 4 and therefore also the cavity of the case 1 have an essentially oval shape in cross section.

Furthermore, the case 1 is formed in the end regions 5 and 6 of the halves 2 and 3 in the form of a segment of a circular arc, so that when the halves 2 and 3 are fitted together, the case 1 has an essentially edgeless and cornerless appearance. The case 1 has halves 2 and 3 for presentation surfaces 7 and 8 for arranging caricatures, pictures, drawings, writing symbols or the like. A further presentation surface 9 can be arranged in the area of the heel 4, which becomes visible when the two halves 2 and 3 are pulled apart, for example with glasses, with writing and drawing utensils or with other items to fill substantially elongated objects or if these objects are to be removed from the case 1.

In Figure 1, the half 3 is shown in a partially sectioned side view, so that the wall 10 can be seen from cellulose. A textile fabric through which the case 1 is lined can be arranged in the end region 6 on the inner surface 11 of the wall 10.

As stated above, the case 1 is made of cellulose. For this purpose, each half 2 and 3 is wound from a cellulose strip, as shown in Figure 3. The cellulose strip 12 is essentially strip-shaped and has a linearly delimited longitudinal edge and two transverse sides 15 arranged at right angles to the longitudinal edge 13. The transverse sides 15 are arranged opposite one another.

A longitudinal side 16 is arranged opposite the long side 13 and has four folding tongues 17 in the form of a circular arc and two flaps 18 of essentially rectangular shape, the flaps 18 projecting beyond the folding tongues 17 in their direction transverse to the longitudinal direction of the cellulose strip 12.

In Figure 3, the reference numeral 14 denotes the outer surface of the half 3.

As can also be seen from FIG. 3, but also from FIG. 2, each folding tongue 17 has a V-shaped notch 19, the notches 19 being arranged congruently one above the other in two folded tongues 17 lying one above the other in the wound state. Furthermore, a corrugation 20 is provided in the area of the folding tongues 17 and the flaps 18, which is introduced by embossing into the cellulose strip 12, the corrugation 20 runs parallel to the longitudinal direction of the cellulose strip 12.

Finally, it can be seen from FIG. 3 that the cellulose strip 12 in the region of the transverse sides 15 has a ground region 21 or 22, the region 22 on the inside, ie. H. the cavity-facing side of the cellulose strip 12 and the ground region 21 is arranged on the outer surface 14 of the cellulose strip 12.

It can be seen that the cellulose strip 12 is wound in such a way that the intended shape of the half 3 is given in its cross section. Only the tabs 18 and the folding tongues 17 have not yet been folded, so that the half 3 is open on both ends in the state shown. In the subsequent production step, the flaps 18 are folded in the direction of the arrows 23 before the folding tongues 17 are folded over the flaps 18 in the direction of the arrow 24 and glued to them. Only one folding tongue 17 can be seen in FIG. It turns out, however, that at this stage of manufacture 2 folding tongues 17 are already arranged lying on top of one another on each side of the case 1.

In order to simplify the folding process of the folding tongues 17 and the flaps 18, the notches 19 and the corrugation 20 are provided in the folding tongues 17 and in the flaps 18, respectively. Furthermore, the cellulose strip 12 has the ground areas 21 and 22, which enable both a smooth outer surface 14 and a smooth inner surface 11.

As can be seen from FIG. 2, but from FIG. 3, the tabs 18 do not have to be of the same length. Rather, it is possible to design the tabs 18 in such a way that they fold in the direction of the folded state Arrows 23 are arranged one above the other at least in partial areas and thus enable a further improvement in the stability of the halves 2 and 3 in their end areas 5 and 6.
