Abstract

The contact operating button is provided by a deformable section(17) of the hermetically-sealed injection moulded plastics watch case(12), which can be depressed for operating a spring-biased operating rod(19,19') acting on an electrical contact spring(28). The deformable section of the watch case is provided as a membrane, with the operating rod supported between it and the contact spring by a peripheral support ring(20) to which the operating rod is attached via a number of angularly spaced resilient tongues(32).

Description

The invention relates to a wristwatch according to the preamble of claim 1.

Such a clock, in which instead of an externally operated and the wall of the Watch case traversing plunger as a push button switch to influence an internal Contact section a region of the injection molded plastic that can be deformed in a flexible manner Serves watch case is known from US-PS 4,178,751. A radial if necessary Plug made of stiffer material that extends over the wall thickness is used the spatial definition of the tactile area. The case side wall deformed here acts directly on one of several contact spring tongues punched out on an arc for their radial deflection up to the system against one fixed on the clockwork Counter contact. A disadvantage of such switch training is that the actuation the peripheral along the cylindrical wall of the watch case against each other offset push button pressure ranges due to the interconnection of the contact springs the ring arch always creates the same potential connection to the individual mating contacts is what does not open up a great freedom of movement in terms of circuitry.

The invention is therefore based on the technical problem of a watch of the generic type Way of creating, which is mainly due to a more reliable effect in manual Characterized switch actuation and also more versatile circuitry Functions related to push button operation opened.

This object is essentially achieved in that the generic Watch also has the features of the labeling part of the main claim.

According to this solution, the ring-shaped housing of a wristwatch appears when the button is pressed no longer until the contact spring tongue finally comes into contact with its mating contact deformed, but experiences a pressure and travel transmitting double plunger a housing-fixed stop to take up further external pressure after the contact path from the contact spring tongue to the mating contact has already closed has been. A double pimple inside acts as the actual pestle Housing between the contact spring tongue and a membrane-shaped taper or a plug formation in the housing wall. Any locally defined deformation area in the wall can under elastic pressure against a spatially assigned Pair of plunger knobs and thus against the contact spring assigned to it be pushed in manually. For this, the plunger knobs are z. B. formed on bending tabs, which engage in wall recesses and on a separately blown-in Function ring are hinged to the housing base or on the housing itself. A special one good hermetic sealing of the deformation area results from that diaphragms or actuating plugs subsequently for an intimate material connection on the profiled edge of through openings originally left free during spraying are sprayed on the housing wall; or membranes are already created as Spray skins in plastic injection molding of those profiled with the internal recesses Housing wall. The plunger knobs are. of the flexible tabs against the elastic assigned membrane or the like actuating element pressed. The respective The contact spring can in turn be spring-loaded against the plunger knobs issue; however, it is permanent in order to avoid the risk of permanent breakage mechanical alternating stress, preferably at a distance from the adjacent knob and thus held free of tension. The contact springs and their counter contacts are individually attached to the factory and connected to circuit parts there, which means according to the circuit Execution via the mechanically lockable Contact distance z. B. switched through a reference potential or a circuit part (like a voltage or a frequency divider) can be bridged.

The wristwatch 11 shown in FIG. 2 has one annular housing 12 on the z. B. in plastic injection molding is made. Its central-axial Through opening 13 is visible closed by a watch glass 14, which in the housing 12 can be blown in or welded in. It is also possible within the scope of the present invention, first to inject a watch glass 14 made of crystal-clear material, to which the housing 12 made of colored, non-transparent material is injected to hermetically sealed along the edge with the watch glass 14 connect to.

In the essentially hollow cylindrical inner surface 15 of the housing opening 13, recesses 16 protrude into what locally to a corresponding weakening of the wall of the Housing 12 leads. As a result, this respective area 17 defined deformed, namely (e.g. radially with respect to the Housing 12) are pressed. The recesses 16 can also practically traverse the wall of the housing 12 and only through a film-shaped membrane 18 or one Stopper hermetically but deformably closed. A Membrane 18 can be sprayed on separately, or already as Spray skin stopped when casting the housing 12. It adapts geometrically to the outer contour of the housing 12, but is expediently like a separately molded Plug as a deformation area 17 in color compared to the surrounding housing 12 removed.

Fig.1).The movement 24 is immersed in the interior 23 of the housing 12, which is preferably a radio-controlled clockwork with integrated Antenna according to DE-GM 93 15 669. When inserting are already at work 24 in the housing opening 13 Dial and hands mounted. Eventually the housing 12 thus equipped with the movement 24 by the blown in or screwed on like a bayonet Floor 27 with built-in or inserted battery locked. The way the knobs operate 19'-19 is mechanically limited to overload to avoid. There are stops 34 from about Bottom 27 or as shown in FIG. 1 from the housing 12 in the direction on the floor 27 to axially parallel to between Knob-bending tabs 32 and spring tongues 28 engage (see Fig. 1).

As can be seen from the basic illustration in FIG. 1, is at work 24, the respective housing deformation area 17 assigned locally, each a contact spring 28 is held which (with respect to the housing ring) preload-free radial to local assigned plunger knobs 19 protrudes. With external pressure on it is injected here in the form of a plug 18 from this knob 19 to one also at work 24 held counter contact 29 pressed. This will make one Contact path 30 closed and in plant 24 one electrical function triggered, such as switching one Display presentation or the advancement of a display organ.

The function is also in the development according to FIG. 2 of the retaining ring for the plunger knobs 19-19 'on the floor 27 relocated to a component to be assembled separately (namely to save the ring 21 according to FIG. 1). Are for again essentially parallel to the clock axis 31 and bending tabs 32 projecting transversely to the bottom surface provided to a plastic floor 27 (or to the Housing 12) are molded. Just before the free ends of the Bending tabs 32 protrude nubs 19-19 'radially in opposite directions, So roughly parallel to the bottom 27 radially inwards and outwards with respect to the housing 12. When putting the bottom 27 on the housing 12 immerses the bending tabs 32 in slots 33 a, which is approximately parallel to the axis 31 in the housing 12 run into it. These slots 33 are through the center Recesses 16, 16 'expanded and for the interior of the housing 12 open so that there is a short cruciform Cross-sectional geometry of the slots 33 results in total. When immersing the bending tabs 32 from the bottom 27 in the Slots 33 are the knobs 19-19 'in the likewise axially parallel recesses 16, 16 'out. Radial to central housing opening 13 projecting through the inner knobs 19 again (according to Fig.1) them locally assigned spiral springs 28 without pressure. At external local pressure on one of the membranes 18 in the deformation area 17 of the housing 12 is on the outer Knob 19 'pivoted the bending tab 32 and thereby the inner knob 19 against the contact spring 28 for bridging the contact path 30 pressed. The actuation path, So the spring-elastic bending of the knob tab 32, by the radial dimension of the slot 33 limited, which is slightly larger than the strength of the bending tab 32 and thus serves as a stop 34.

The orientation of the mechanical, via pressure on the Diaphragm 18, sliding plunger knobs 19-19 'does not have to be transverse to the watch case axis 31; instead of as in the exemplary embodiments set out on the side wall Deformation area 17 namely instead or additionally on an end wall, preferably on the visible side End wall of the housing 12 formed next to the watch glass 14 be.
