Description

The present invention relates to a connector for Backplane wiring consisting of one that is open on one side right-angled housing trained male connector for Attach to the contact and shielding knife of a backplane and one insertable into the male connector, with receiving chambers provided and connected to an assembly circuit board Female connector, the knives and springs in parallel in several Rows are arranged, and wherein the individual contact springs are surrounded by electrically conductive shields, which with in the intermediate grid both on the module side and on the rear wall attached shield contacts that are connected are acted upon with a corresponding potential.

Due to the fact that today and in the future always higher data rates with ever higher frequencies over the Interface "plug connection" must be transferred it is necessary to use the plastic connector body to refine and thus make it EMC-compatible. Of the Connector passage is said to be smaller and cheaper than a conventional one Be Mini-COAX.

So far, the necessary EMC measure has been on the one hand with the help of normal contact pins around an active conductor and on the other hand, by encapsulating the individual contact passages by means of screen elements connected to a potential cage (see European patent application 94 103 192.4).

The one known from European patent application 94 103 192.4 Connector has one regarding its manufacture complicated structure. Object of the present invention is to specify a plug connection of the type mentioned at the beginning, whose high-frequency properties meet the requirements suffice, and which is proportionate simple construction.

  • This object is achieved for a plug connection of the type mentioned at the outset by
  • that the free ends of the contact blades in the male connector are surrounded by shielding sleeves,
  • that between the shielding sleeves, rear-side shielding contacts with a circular cross-section are attached, which contact the shielding sleeves with their outer surfaces and which resiliently embrace the free ends of the shielding knives in their interior,
  • that the contact springs and the inner conductors connected to them are surrounded by tubular outer conductors serving as shielding,
  • that the rear-side free ends of the outer conductors are designed as spring rings which, when plugged in, contact the inner surfaces of the shielding sleeves of the male connector,
  • that the rear-side free ends of the inner conductors have contact springs with circular cross sections for gripping around the contact blades in the inserted state, and that on the assembly side the inner conductors surrounded by the tubular outer conductors are led out to the outside as contact pins, and shield contacts with a circular cross section on the assembly side are attached between the outer conductors, which contact the outer conductors with their outer surfaces and grip around the inside of the shielding pins, which are led outwards and fastened in the female connector.
The plug connection according to the invention offers plug passages, which are much smaller and cheaper than conventional ones Mini-COAX connectors are and regarding the transmission properties all today's requirements fulfill.

Configurations of the connector according to the invention result itself from the subclaims and from the description below an embodiment of a connector according to the present invention with reference to the figure.
