Abstract

The shore (1) consists of a post (2) that is placed against the side brim of the wall opening (5), a cross-beam (3) fixed on the top of the post (2) and of which one end (4) is inserted into a to be pointed joint (A) between the building stones, an in height adjustable means (8-9) mounted on mentioned cross-beam (3), and a support (13-14) mounted on mentioned adjustable means and destined for carrying the girder (17), fitted in the wall opening.

Description

  • The invention concerns a shore for the purpose of supporting a girder in a wall opening provided in masonry builded up of building stones.
  • Known are pipe-shaped shores, consisting of two telescopic parts that can be fastened between a floor surface, window- or door sill on the one hand, and a girder, temporarily fitted against the upper horizontal part of a wall opening on the other hand.
  • These shores however have as most important disadvantage that they relatively take up a lot of space during transportation, are relatively heavy and expansive with respect to the construction, are not always to be raised easily, and due to the fact that they can be easily knocked over, not always safe.
  • To avert these disadvantages, and therefore obtain a reasonably cheap and safe shore, that takes up little space, a shore has been realized in accordance with the main characteristic of the invention, which mainly consists of a post placed against the side brim of the wall opening, a cross-beam fixed on the top of the post and of which one end has to be inserted into a to be pointed joint, an in height adjustable means, mounted on mentioned cross-beam, and destined to carry the girder that is fitted in the wall opening.
  • As an example, a more elaborate description of a chosen in no way restricted form of execution of the shore in accordance with the invention follows hereafter. This description refers to the included drawing, in which:
    • fig. 1 respresents a perspective of the shore;
    • fig. 2 represents a side-view of the shore, fitted in a wall opening.
  • One notices in these figures, that shore 1 consists of a flat post 2 On which a flat cross-beam 3 is attached in such a way, that a T-shaped element is obtained. One end 4 of the cross-beam 3 has a thickness that is a little smaller than the width of the joints A between the building stones which border the wall opening 5. The other end of the cross-beam is provided with an opening 6 and a nut 7 welded to it, in which a tightening screw 8 can be adjusted in height. The lower end of the tightening screw is provided with a grip 9, and on the upper end of it, two nuts 10-11 are welded to it at some distance, between which a horizontally pivotable U-shaped support 13, supported by washer 12 is mounted. On the upper part of this support, a carrier 14 is fixed, which is provided with openings 15, and on which by means of wood screws 16, a girder 17 can be attached.
  • For the purpose of supporting a girder 17 to be placed in wall opening 5, one places a shore 1 to each side of the wall opening. For this purpose, one inserts the end 4 of the cross-beam 3 of each shore 1 into a joint A of the masonry, until the post 2 rests against the side brim of wall opening 5. Subsequently, one places the girder 17 on the carrier 14 of the support 13 of each shore 1, one tightens tightening screw 8 of each shore, until the girder 17 is placed at a sufficient distance to the upper part of the wall opening in order to place the chanferred building stones, and one preferably attaches the girder to the carrier 14 of the support 13 of each shore, by means of wood screws 16. The later removal of the shores 1 takes place in reversed order.
  • It is obvious, that post 2, with cross-beam 3 attached to it, can have any shape and measurements whatsoever, that tightening screw 8 can be replaced by another, in height adjustable means, and that this means can also be provided at any appropriate place on the cross-beam 3.

Claims (6)

  1. Shore for supporting a girder in a wall opening, characterized by the fact that the shore (1) consists of a post (2) which is placed against the side brim of the wall opening (5), a cross-beam (3) fixed on the top of the post (2) and of which one end (4) is inserted into a to be pointed joint (A) between the building stones, an in height adjustable means (8-9) mounted on mentioned cross-beam (3), and a support (13-14) mounted on mentioned adjustable means and destined for carrying the girder (17) fitted in the wall opening.
  2. Shore as claimed in claim 1, characterized by the fact that the thickness of the cross-beam (3) is a little smaller than the width of a normally to be pointed joint (A) between the building stones.
  3. Shore as claimed in claim 1, characterized by the fact that the post (2) and the cross-beam (3), have a T-shape, and of which one end (4) of the cross-beam is inserted into a to be pointed joint (A) between the building stones, and the other end is equipped with an in height adjustable means (8-9).
  4. Shore as claimed in claim 1, characterized by the fact that the support (13) is pivotable horizontally on the in height adjustable means (8-9).
  5. Shore as claimed in claim 4, characterized by the fact that the support (13) consists of a U-shaped element, on which a carrier (14) with openings (15) is attached for mounting the girder (17) on the support by means of wood screws (16).
  6. Shore as claimed in claim 1, characterized by the fact that the in height adjustable means consists of a tightening screw (8) with grip (9), which screw can be tightened in heigth in the cross-beam (3), and on which the support (13) is mounted.
