Definitions
- the invention relates to a method and a device for change of product in a projection installation coating products. It limits considerably loss of paint during color changes.
- a sensor for example optical or capacitive to detect the arrival of the paint at the drain.
- the sensor emits a signal which is interpreted to close the purge valve: on is free from errors due to the variations set out above.
- the response times of these sensors and valve control systems are in the range of 500 ms. Between the time the sensor detects the edge again product and closing the purge valve, about 30 cc paint has drained into the drain. The invention reduces this wasted amount.
- It relates to a product change process in a coating product spraying installation comprising a supply duct for a projector with said product and a controlled purge bypass, near of one end of said conduit, of the type comprising a phase injection of air and solvent into said conduit followed a phase of filling said conduit with a new product until the latter reaches said bypass, characterized in that it consists in reducing locally the flow section of said branch at a determined moment after the end of the injection phase air and solvent and before the end of the filling.
- the flow section purge bypass is decreased when the filling phase so that during the interval of time between the arrival of the new product front in purge bypass and closing the valve purge, the quantity of product discharged into the purge is limited to the volume passing through the reduced section of the bypass during this interval of time.
- the invention also relates to a change device of product in a product projection installation covering comprising a supply duct of a projector, said conduit being connected to a bypass purge, characterized in that it comprises means for temporary decrease in flow section of said purge bypass.
- These means of temporarily reducing the section flow can consist of two branches parallels of different diameters which are crossed by cleaning fluid and new product respectively during the cleaning and filling. It can also be an element of diameter adjustable such as pressure regulator, restrictor or diaphragm or a controlled valve in which is planned a leak between the needle and the seat.
- a product detector is located in or near the purge bypass and controls the means of restriction of the flow section.
- the invention is particularly suited to the case of an installation comprising a mobile assembly comprising a projector and an on-board tank on the one hand and a cleaning-filling station on the other hand.
- the return of coating product in the cleaning-filling station after he has filled the conduits with the mobile assembly no longer involves significant losses of coating product.
- the device of FIG. 1 comprises a block of change of coating product 1 connected by a supply line 2 to a projector 3, for example electrostatic.
- a valve 4 called the head valve, allows whether or not to power the projector 3 with the product of coating present in conduit 2.
- a bypass 5 in which is provided a valve 6, called purge, is connected to a purge system 7.
- a sensor 10, by capacitive example, connected to a control system head and purge valves can be provided to detect the arrival of a liquid front in the bypass 5.
- the device of FIG. 2 comprises certain elements identical to that of FIG. 1, the references of which bear the same numbers increased by 50.
- the purge bypass 55 is divided into two branches 55 a and 55 b , respectively interruptible thanks to with two purge valves 56 and 59.
- the branch 55 b also includes a calibrated or restricting element 58 of smaller diameter than the rest of the branch 55.
- valve 56 is open and remnants of coating material, air and solvent are discharged into drain 57.
- the valve 56 is closed and the valve 59 is open so that the air and the solvent residues pushed by the product front are evacuated to the purge 57 through the branch 55b, that is to say through the restrictor 58.
- the losses of loads created by restrictor 58 are not detrimental to flow to the purge during filling phase because air and solvent have a low or very low viscosity compared to the product coating.
- the front of the new coating product is detected by sensor 60 which then controls the closing of valve 59.
- the device of FIG. 3 comprises certain elements identical to that of FIG. 2, the references have the same numbers plus 50.
- the assembly 111 formed by the projector 103 and a reservoir 112 is carried by the arm of a multi-axis manipulator robot, a side machine or a roof machine beam, for example of the type described in patent FR-B-2 609 252 in name of the applicant.
- the assembly 111 is moved to be connected to a cleaning-filling station 113 including the coating product change block, a conduit 102 and a support and connection plate 114 on which rests a corresponding surface 115 of assembly 111.
- the purge bypass 105 comprises two purge valves 106 and 109 arranged in series.
- a restrictor 108 is mounted in parallel on the valve 106. This can be a diaphragm, for example.
- the sensor 110 can indifferently be housed in station 113 or in the mobile assembly 111.
- the operation is as follows: when the projection is over, the ensemble 111 approaches the station 113; the head valve 104 is closed, the purge valves 104 ', 106 and 109 are open and the tank piston 112 is brought to the end of the stroke to pour into the drain 107 the remaining paint in the tank.
- the valve 104 is then opened, then the air and the solvent of cleaning are injected into the conduit 102 and pass to through valve 104 into tank 112 they clean up. They then cross the valve 104 'and return in station 113 by purge bypass 105. They are discharged into drain 107.
- the valve 106 is closed at a chosen time.
- Solvent remnants and air prisoners of the various conduits and tank 112 are discharged into drain 107 through the restrictor 108. According to an operation analogous to what has been seen for FIG. 2, a sensor 110 detects the return of the front new product in station 113 and order the valve 109 closed.
- the amount of product spilled into the drain during the system response time is limited by the diameter restrictor 108.
- FIG. 4 shows a practical embodiment of the valve 106 incorporating the restrictor 108. It is a pneumatic valve whose needle 106 a is adapted to rest in a sealed manner on a seat 106 b in the closed position. A leak was created by a groove 106 c obtained by milling the seat 106 b or by any other suitable means.
- the restrictor 108 is here the residual leakage from the valve 106. This valve can also be used with devices of the type described in FIG. 2.
- the device of FIG. 5 comprises certain elements identical to that of FIG. 2, the references have the same numbers plus 100.
- the purge bypass includes valve 156 and regulator pressure switches 158 connected in series.
- valve 156 When filling the duct 152 with the new product, valve 156 remains open and pressure of the regulator 158 is increased so that its section is reduced, which limits the amount of paint dumped to purge during system response time.
- the conduit feed 2 is cleaned and filled in several sections in order to save time when changing product. Intermediate purges are then planned.
- the invention applies by equipping each purge according to the invention.
- the invention also has the advantage of be able to be incorporated inexpensively into existing installations since essentially sufficient to modify in accordance with its principle the derivation of purge.
- the invention is applicable independently of the presence of a sensor detecting the front of new product in the purge bypass. Indeed, it is possible to control the valves only with time delays defined by the control system.
- the device is less precise but the use of the invention is still more interesting because the duration of the new product in the purge is, for safety reasons, necessarily longer than in the case where a sensor is planned.

Description
- la figure 1 est un schéma de principe d'un dispositif d'alimentation d'une installation de projection de produit de revêtement selon l'art antérieur;
- la figure 2 est un schéma de principe d'un dispositif d'alimentation d'une installation de projection de produit de revêtement selon l'invention;
- la figure 3 est un schéma, similaire à celui de la figure 2, d'une première variante de l'invention;
- la figure 4 est un schéma d'une vanne de régulation telle qu'utilisée dans le dispositif de la figure 3; et
- la figure 5 est un schéma, similaire à celui de la figure 2, d'une seconde variante de l'invention.
