Abstract

Claims (12)

  1. Flexographic printing sleeve (12) intended to be mounted on a support cylinder (10), comprising two plates (22, 24) disposed at the ends of a rigid annular cylinder with an external wall (18) and an internal wall (20), designed to be coaxial with the support cylinder, where the external face (32) of the external wall (18) is intended to support a printing plate and where the internal wall (20) is composed of an elastically and radially deformable wall, over at least part of the length, the internal face (36) of this internal wall being disposed opposite the external face (16) of the support cylinder (10), said internal wall forming, with the external wall, an airtight chamber (26), connected by a valve (28) to a source of fluid, so as to deform the elastically deformable wall and to press it against the external face of the support cylinder.
  2. Sleeve according to Claim 1, characterised in that the elastically deformable wall (20) has a nominal inside diameter greater than the outside diameter of the support cylinder (10) and in that the fluid introduced into the chamber, after mounting, is at a pressure greater than atmospheric pressure.
  3. Sleeve according to Claim 2, characterised in that it comprises an inflatable casing (38), disposed in the airtight chamber (26), equipped with a fluid connection nozzle so as to enable it to expand in the chamber.
  4. Sleeve according to Claim 2 or 3, characterised in that it comprises a bar (44) equipped with pins (40).
  5. Sleeve according to Claim 1, characterised in that the elastically deformable wall (20) has a nominal inside diameter less than the outside diameter of the support cylinder (10) and in that the fluid introduced into the chamber, before mounting, is at a pressure less than that of atmospheric pressure.
  6. Sleeve according to any one of Claims 1 to 5, characterised in that it is produced from composite material.
  7. Sleeve according to Claim 6, characterised in that the composite material comprises at least one layer of honeycomb cellular material with at least one layer of resin on the internal face and at least one layer of resin on the external face.
  8. Sleeve according to Claim 7, characterised in that the layer of honeycomb material is formed by hoop casing with an annular cross section.
  9. Sleeve according to any one of Claims 6 to 8, characterised in that one of the plates (24) and the internal (20) and external (18) walls of the chamber (26) of the sleeve are manufactured simultaneously in order to produce a monolithic assembly.
  10. Sleeve according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that a conductive layer is deposited at the periphery of the sleeve, and this layer can be engraved.
  11. Method of mounting at least one sleeve with a chamber according to any one of Claims 1 to 4 and 6 to 10, on a support cylinder, characterised in that it comprises the following steps:
    coaxial nesting of the sleeve or sleeves (12) on the support cylinder (10), the nominal inside diameter of the said sleeve or sleeves being greater than the diameter of the support cylinder, and
    immobilisation of the said sleeve or sleeves on the support cylinder by pressurising the chamber (26).
  12. Method of mounting at least one sleeve with a chamber according to Claim 1 or 5 on a support cylinder, characterised in that it comprises the following steps:
    putting at negative pressure the chamber (26) of the sleeve or sleeves (12) whose nominal inside diameter is less than the diameter of the support cylinder (10) over at least part of its length so that the inside diameter of the sleeve or sleeves is greater than the diameter of the support cylinder,
    coaxial nesting of the sleeve or sleeves (12) on the support cylinder (10), and
    immobilisation of the said sleeve or sleeves (12) on the support cylinder (10) by removing the negative pressure in the chamber (12), the said sleeve or sleeves coming to grip the support cylinder (10) because their nominal inside diameter is less than the diameter of the support cylinder.
