  • the invention relates to an adjustable thermostat with opening. fast through neutral shift intended to control an electrical supply circuit of an element heater of an appliance and comprising a support comprising a stack of partitions and receiving an arm of thermostat, a blade forming a fixed contact, a bimetallic strip comprising one free end and one end fixed to said support and influenced by the heating temperature to be detected of the heating element, a movable blade fixed to the support and provided with a flexible tongue on which supports an insulating plug controlled by a rotary screw providing a set temperature of the heating element and another fixed movable blade, part, to the support and, secondly, to the movable blade and the free end of which carries a contact likely to touch the fixed contact and an insulating spacer attached to the end of the bimetallic strip and controlling the movable blades; the blade forming a fixed contact and the blades mobiles are connected respectively to a first and a second electrical terminals intended to be connected by at least two wires to the power supply circuit at least one status indication light says "too
  • control devices make use of electronic processing devices information from a quick opening thermostat and controlling the triggering of the indicator lights.
  • the electronic devices are sensitive to variations temperature and humidity.
  • the insertion of such electronic devices increase considerably the cost price of a household appliance.
  • the object of the invention is to remedy the drawbacks aforementioned by implementing a device for control of a "too hot" indicator light which is mechanical, simple and economical.
  • the thermostat comprises a elastic conductive strip which has one end free and one end fixed to said support, and which is connected to the supply network by an electric wire connected to the end fixed to the support and whose region of the free end can occupy at least two positions, i.e. a first position for which the free end region is in contact with the flexible tongue by means of support when the set temperature is greater than or equal to the heating temperature and in which the light says “too warm “is off, a second position for which the free end region is not in contact with the flexible tab when the temperature setpoint is lower than the heating temperature and in which the light says "too hot” is on.
  • the thermostat according to the invention eliminates electronic devices by the use of a unique mechanical device and you get a limitation the number of electrical components inside of the household appliance which reduces the cost of said device.
  • the simplicity of said device increases the free space inside the household appliance improving the possibilities of arrangement of the numerous elements contained inside of the household appliance.
  • an adjustable thermostat 1 with opening fast through neutral shift intended to pilot an electrical supply circuit (not shown) of a heating element of an appliance, includes a support comprising a stack of partitions 2, 3 and 4 and receiving a thermostat arm 5, a blade 6 forming a fixed contact, a bimetallic strip 7 comprising a free end 8 and one end 9 fixed to said support and influenced by the heating temperature of the element heater to detect, a movable blade 10 fixed to the support and provided with a flexible tongue 11 on which presses an insulating plug 12 controlled by a rotary screw 13 providing a set temperature of the heating element and another movable blade 14 fixed, on the one hand, to the support and, on the other hand, to the movable blade 10 and whose free end 15 carries a contact likely touch the fixed contact 6 as well as a spacer insulating 16 secured to the end of the bimetallic strip 7 and controlling the movable blades 10 and 14.
  • the blade 6 forming fixed contact, the moving blades 10 and 14 are connected respectively to a first terminal 17 and to a second terminal 18, intended to be connected, by at least two 34.37 electrical wires to the electrical circuit supply of at least one indicator light 38 status indication "too hot" of the heating element.
  • Separations 2, 3 and 4, and ankle 12 as well as the spacer 16 are made of a material electrical insulator.
  • the adjustable thermostat 1 comprises an elastic conductive strip 21 which comprises a free end 22 and one end 23 fixed to said support, and which is connected to the supply circuit by a electric wire 24 connected to the end 23 fixed to the support and whose free end region 22 can occupy at least two positions, i.e. a first position for which the region of the free end 22 is in contact with the flexible tongue 11 by a support means 25 when the set temperature is higher or equal to the heating temperature and in which the LED 38 says "too hot” is off, one second position for which the region of the free end 22 is not in contact with the flexible tongue 11 when the set temperature is lower than the temperature and in which the light says "too hot” is on.
  • the elastic conductive strip 21 is, by example, a metal blade. Said metal blade has a hole 26 through which the dowel passes insulating 12.
  • the support means 25 is, for example, a lug produced by a cut in the blade 21.
  • the thermostat support comprises in order a lower insulating element 2, a middle element 3 and an upper element 4.
  • the different blades and insulating elements are held together by a tubular rivet R one end of which is intended to be fixed on the heating element.
  • the conductive strip 21 comprises an adjustment means 28 fixed on the free end 22 of said conductive strip 21 and capable of come into contact with the upper end 16 'of the insulating spacer 16 when the set temperature is below the heating temperature of the heating element.
  • the adjusting means 28 is, for example, a finger 29 mounted adjustable in a sleeve 30 carried by the free end 22 of the blade 21. This finger can be achieved by a screw rotatably mounted in a threaded sleeve.
  • the heating element comprising an electrical resistance 31
  • the supply circuit of the thermostat has a male connector 32 intended to be plugged into a power outlet and includes a wire ground 33, a first electrical wire 34 connected to a end 35 of the electrical resistance 31 of which the other end 36 is connected to the second electrical terminal 18, and a second electric wire 37 connected to the first electrical terminal 17, and the electrical network supply comprises a resistor 42 connected in series with said light 38.
  • One end 41 of the resistor 42 is connected to the end 35 of the resistor 31 and the other end 43 of said resistor 42 is connected, on the one hand, to the wire 24, and on the other hand, to a tab 39 of the LED 38 whose other leg 40 is connected to the first terminal 17.
  • the heating element comprises a part to be heated 44 thermally linked to the resistor 31 and to the bimetallic strip 7 of the thermostat by the tubular rivet R.
  • the temperature of setpoint corresponds to an ideal temperature required for ironing a particular type of garment.
  • the soleplate of the iron heats up, the contact between the end of the blade 6 forming a fixed contact and the free end 15 of the movable blade 14 is closed.
  • the free end of the bimetallic strip 7 curves upwards and raises, the end 16, the movable blades 10 and 14.
  • the movable blade 14 suddenly leaves the blade forming fixed contact 16 to come into abutment against a fixed point of the movable blade 10 linked to the first electrical terminal 17 connected to the first wire supply 37.
  • the conductive strip 21 by its means support 25 is continuously in contact with the flexible tongue 11 connected to the first electrical terminal 17 linked to wire 37.
  • the resistor 42 of the indicator "too hot” has a high impedance so that create a sharp drop in voltage and play the role of a permanent short circuit so that in this position the "too hot” light 38 is off.
  • the user When the user wants a temperature of setpoint lower than the previous setpoint temperature, the user turns, in the opposite direction of the first adjustment, the rotary screw 13 of the thermostat, the contact between the end of the blade 16 and the free end remaining open, the insulating pin 12 presses on the flexible tongue 11 and pushes it in.
  • the free end 22 by its adjusting means 23 comes into contact with the end 16 'of the insulating spacer 16 while the flexible tongue 11 continues to descend. Therefore, the support means 25 is therefore no longer in contact with the flexible tongue 11, which triggers the ignition of the "too hot” indicator light 38.
  • This indicator does not go out only when the soleplate of the iron has cooled down enough, i.e. when the end of the bimetallic strip 7 has come down slightly and occupies a corresponding position at the last set temperature.
  • the adjustable thermostat 1 can be used in an oven electric. Said thermostat measures, for example, the heating temperature of the oven cavity in which is positioned a food and for which a certain temperature should not be exceeded in a particular use.
  • the thermostat according to the invention also applies on all types of devices in which the indication of too high a temperature must be known from the user before a new use of this apparatus.
