Definitions
- the present invention relates to a mixed electro-fluidic connector (electropneumatic or electrohydraulic).
- each connector must have its own structure, its means of attachment, its means of coding, etc ...
- DE-A-43 10 616 proposes a connector specially designed for the connection of a motor vehicle battery, which has been replaced two electrical pins by fluid couplings.
- Document EP-A-0 197 818 also proposes a fluid connector specially designed for mounting in an electrical connector for cooling printed circuit boards.
- the object of the invention is in particular to eliminate these drawbacks, and in particular, to allow the user to configure a standard connector easily, in an extended manner, and several times if necessary, depending on the applications considered successively. Furthermore, since a standard connector is used which can be configured for different applications, it is necessary to provide a keying system making it possible to obtain a large number of different keying configurations.
- a mixed electrofluidic connector of the type comprising two connection elements which can mate with each other and each having a base of insulating material having two parallel faces and traversed right through by a plurality of holes centered perpendicular to said faces, the holes in the two insulating bases being able to receive type electrical connection pins respectively male and type electrical connection pins female, in such a way that, during mating, the male pins of one of the two insulating parts can engage in the female pins of the other base, at least a first of the holes being able to receive either an electrical connection pin or fluidic, the fluidic connection pin consisting of a male or female tubular sleeve, the male sleeve having a cylindrical front portion capable of coming engage in a coaxial bore provided in the part anterior of the female sleeve.
- this connector is characterized in that that it has the shape and structure of a connector standard electric for universal use, and in that said first drilling of each base is also suitable for receive either a male or female type pin, each of the electrical and fluidic pins being blocked axially in both directions in its drilling so removable, thanks to independent fixing means supported by the spindle, which engage on corresponding conformations of each insulating base, the anterior portion of the male sleeve bearing a lining annular seal intended to engage in the bore of the female sleeve to ensure a seal between the two sleeves in the coupled position.
- the connector according to the invention has many advantages. Its cost is low because it is achievable using simple geometry parts (which is that of standard connectors already produced in large quantities). Its size is reduced since the mechanical structure is common to the electrical and fluidic functions.
- the seals between the male and female sleeves are fixed directly to the male sleeves. They are therefore accessible from outside the equipment and are suitable for simple and automatic mounting of the sleeves.
- the production of these connectors is simplified since they do not include any specific mounting linked to the pneumatic function and since the fluid connection pins are interchangeable with the electrical connection pins.
- the end user of connectors of this type can make either an electrical connector or an electrofluidic connector for a given specific application. Furthermore, since the male and female pins are interchangeable, it can make a specific coding means by simple inversion of some of these pins.
- the means for fixing the pins in the insulating parts include axial stop means in one direction and an annular groove provided with means elastic allowing sliding in said direction and ensuring axial locking in the other direction.
- said stop means are designed to lock the spindle in the base insulating in the direction of coupling, the above means elastic being provided in the rear part of said pins.
- the pins according to the invention are introduced into the insulating parts by the face prior to each of these, said means of stop being constituted by an annular flange which comes to bear against said anterior face, said groove annular being formed in an opposite posterior part to said anterior part.
- the insulating parts can receive either male or female connection pins, which makes it possible to produce electrical, electrofluidic or fully fluidic connectors, with polarizing means obtained by the arrangement of the male and female pins in each of the parts. insulating.
- the pins are held in the holes of the insulating part over practically the entire thickness of the latter, which eliminates any radial play.
- said means of fixing allow disassembly of parts pins insulators without specific tools. In this way, the user can configure several times in a row same connector according to the invention.
- the two pieces of insulating material may be respectively engaged and fixed at the inside of two tubular support structures able to engage closely with each other to guiding the pins and / or sleeves during the connection.
- the two tubular structures can be provided with fixing and / or polarizing means.
- the male type connection element 1 including the base 3 has a thickness less than that of the element female 2 further comprises an annular flange 22 which axially extends the strapping 12 by delimiting, on one side thereof, a coupling cavity 23 of section trapezoidal in which can partially come fit the strapping 13 of the female element 2.
- male connection pins 29.34 respectively electric and fluidic, each having a structure similar to the previous ones, the electric pin being intended to ensure an electrical connection suitable for bear relatively high power.
- these pins can be replaced, depending on the applications, by coaxial electrical pins, or even triaxial, or by fluidic spindles compatible with housing.
- each of these connection pins 29.34 includes on the anterior side of the part engaged in drilling 5.6 axial stop means which may consist of a flange 32 which comes to be embedded in a bore of complementary shape formed in the edges of the opening anterior hole.
- the posterior part 30 of these pins 29.34 is provided with an annular groove 36 serving to accommodate means of fixing the spindle in the base 3,4, these means being able to consist of a conical washer elastic 31, possibly perforated which comes to bear on the rear face 17 of the base 3, or else on a annular shoulder formed in the bore 5.6.
- connection sleeve fluidic for example, pneumatic 34 whose shape general and size are similar to those of the pin 29.
- this sleeve 34 comprises a part cylindrical central unit 35 with the diameter of the bore 5, which is provided with an annular groove 36 intended to receive the fixing washer 31 of the sleeve 34 in its bore.
- the front portion 37 of the pin 34 has a shape cylindrical with a diameter smaller than that of the part central 35.
- this front part presents here two coaxial annular grooves 38 axially offset, which are respectively intended to receive two O-rings 39.
- the posterior portion 40 of the pin 34 has ribs annular 41 so as to constitute a tip tight connection for flexible conduit.
- the sleeve 34 is crossed by an axial channel 42 used to convey a fluid such as, for example, compressed air or even at low pressure (vacuum).
- a fluid such as, for example, compressed air or even at low pressure (vacuum).
- the pins 29 and the sleeves 34 can be arranged in a hole 5, 6 or in the other as desired of the user, without requiring any adaptation of connector element and tool used for mounting.
- the female connection element 2 has, with respect to the male connection element 1, a thicker base 4, and a hoop 13 which extends from an anterior side of the rim 15, over a distance substantially equal to the width of the annular collar 26.
- the strapping 13 has a section trapezoidal dimension significantly smaller than that of the collar in which it is intended to come to commit.
- the holes 7, 8, 10 made in the base 4 of this element have the same diameter as those of the element and are distributed in the same way.
- the portion 49 comprises behind the zone of connection, a coaxial annular groove 50 used to enclose means for fixing the spindle to the base 4.
- These fixing means can consist, for example, of washers or elastic clips 50 '( Figure 2) which abut against an annular shoulder 53, ensuring the axial locking of the spindle 48 in the bore 8.
- This shoulder is made by boring a portion 7.8 holes limited, which avoids introducing play radial in holding the pins in the holes.
- hole 7 the diameter of which is identical to that of hole 8 is arranged a pneumatic connection sleeve female type 55 whose shape and dimensions are similar to those of pin 48.
- this sleeve 55 includes a portion tubular 56, housed in the bore 7 of the base 4 and which includes a cylindrical bore 57 substantially of diameter outside of the front part 37 of the sleeve 34 which it is supposed to receive.
- the difference in portion diameter 56 and groove 38 ensures compression of the seals toric 39.
- the bore 57 opens at the face front 18 of base 4.
- the rear part of this portion tubular 56 is provided with an annular groove 50 serving to close an elastic washer 50 'for fixing.
- the rear part 58 of the pin 55 which emerges from the rear face 19 of the base 4 has ribs annular 59 and constitutes a connection end piece waterproof for a flexible conduit 60.
- connection sleeve 55 is crossed by an axial channel 61 used to convey the compressed air (or the empty).
- the pins and the female sleeves 48, 55 can be arranged in a hole 7, 8 or in the other, at the user's choice without this requiring a any adaptation of the connector element, or a specialized tools for mounting.
- connection elements 1, 2 previously described, the electrical and pneumatic connections are obtained at the same time, by engaging these two elements 1, 2 into each other after moving in axial translation of one of the elements with respect to the other.
- connection pins whether electrical or fluidic, are introduced into the bases 3,4 by their faces anterior face 16.18, due to the fact that the forces exerted on these pins when coupling the two connection elements 1,2 are larger than when uncoupling. Indeed, during mating, centering forces of the male pins are exerted in the female pins, which add to the forces friction between them. That’s why we planned 32.51 axial stop flanges on the part anterior pins, and more attachment means light, namely, elastic 31.50 'conical washers housed in an annular groove 36.50 on the part posterior of these pins.
- the number of large diameter holes 5, 6-7, 8 could be more than two, these holes capable of receiving a number of connection pins electric 29, 48 or pneumatic connection sleeve 34, 55 adapted to the needs of the user.
- the holes of smaller diameter 9, 10 and connecting members correspondents 24, 27 can be optionally deleted.
- the means of keying consists of the trapezoidal shapes of the parts of the straps 12, 13 engaging one in the other. It is clear that this keying method could be different without the object of the invention being found amended.
- the connector could have a structure such as that illustrated in FIG. 4.
- the bases 64, 65 in which are find the connection pins 66, 67, 68, 69 mounted male and female connection elements 70, 71, as well as the tubular structures in which these bases 64 are worn, have circular shapes.
- the male connection element 70 comprises a base 64 of circular shape fixed in a socket cylindrical 72 of which the part which delimits the volume coupling has a 72 'thread.
- This base 64 includes a plurality of small holes diameter uniformly distributed on a concentric circle at the base as well as two larger diameter holes slightly offset from the longitudinal axis of element 70. Small diameter holes are used for fixing of male type electrical connection pins 67, similar to those previously described, while larger diameter holes are used interchangeably mounting of electrical connection pins for relatively high powers (or even pins coaxial or triaxial) or connection sleeves pneumatic.
- the larger hole diameter is assigned to a male connection sleeve 66 similar to the sleeve 34 previously described.
- the female connection element 71 comprises a base 65 of cylindrical shape itself fixed in a cylindrical sleeve 73 including the front part 75 has a diameter slightly smaller than the diameter inside of the front part of the socket in which she must commit to.
- this socket 73 is rotatably mounted coaxially but axially retained on it, a nut capable of coming screw onto the threaded outer surface of the socket.
- the base 65 includes a multiplicity of small diameter holes inside of which are fixed electrical connection pins of female type 69 intended to receive the pins of male type connection 67 of the connection element 70.
- the means of fixing pins 34,55, included in the holes 5.7 a threaded portion 81 which cooperates with a thread formed on a portion of the pins.
- These pins are screwed in 5.7 holes using a conventional clamping tool which cooperates with a portion 82 of complementary shape, for example, with a hexagonal cross section, located in the rear part of the pins.
- the pins are inserted into the 5.7 holes on the rear 17.19 of the bases 3.4 and are applied against an axial stop 83 located at the level of the anterior opening of the holes 5.7.
