Description

The invention relates to a stapling device for stapling and storing stacks of documents in folders with a filing mechanism according to the preamble of claim 1.

Such a device is known in the art under the designation "quick-release strips". In order to store individual document stacks collected in folders with such a quick-action filing strip, the respective stack of documents is stapled together with the aid of the stapling tongues of the fast-action filing strip, the base flap being dimensioned and attached in such a way that a sufficiently wide longitudinal edge strip protrudes beyond the binding edge of the stack of documents. A perforation corresponding to the filing mechanism is provided in this longitudinal edge strip, with which the quick filing strip can be hung in the filing mechanism.

Furthermore, so-called cover rails are available as an accessory for quick-release strips, which can be pushed onto the cover flap of the quick-release strip, including the folded tongue ends. This covers the ends of the tongues and prevents them from bending open.

A disadvantage of the known quick-release strips is that the stacked documents come to lie next to the file mechanism of the folder and thus cover indexing intermediate pages so that the side index bar is no longer recognizable. Furthermore, in the described type of filing, the perforation of the base tab tends to hold the entire weight of the Document stack must pick up, to tear. This also applies to the perforation of the stack of documents itself, since this is only held together by the relatively sharp-edged tongues.

From DE-A-41 12 273 a hanging device for storing individual processes in file folders with a bending tongue is known which can be passed through perforations of a single process and holds it together. In order to avoid a hanging tab protruding from the left edge of the individual process with the disadvantages described above, the bending tongue has widened areas with an opening for receiving the stirrups of the filing mechanism. A cover flap, the stack and a base flap are provided with additional holes that are aligned with one another for filing the stack of documents.

Based on the described disadvantages of the prior art, the invention has for its object to develop a stapling device of the generic type so that stapled stacks of documents gently and possibly without covering the index bars of indexing pages in folders with filing mechanism while improving the handling of the document stack can be filed .

This object is achieved by the features specified in the characterizing part of claim 1. Due to the indicated further perforations in the base flap, the top flap and the cover profile rail, the entire stapling device together with the stack of documents can be hung in a conventional filing technique of a folder. This means that the stack of documents comes to lie in the same position as it is for loose, deposited sheets. This avoids the aforementioned covering of the index bar of indexing pages. Furthermore, the stack of documents is held directly by the filing mechanism and no longer indirectly via the base tab, as is the case with the prior art. In this respect, the entire stack of documents together with the stapling device is held together by the filing mechanism, which contributes to a substantial protection of the holes in the stack of documents and the base flap.

1 and 2, the stapling device 1 is used to staple a stack of documents 2, e.g. consists of a large number of A4 sheets 3. The stapling device 1 is centered on the left edge - the so-called binding edge 4 - of the stack of documents 2 in accordance with DIN.

It consists of an essentially rectangular base flap 5 (FIG. 3) made of flexible flat material, a strip-shaped cover flap 6 (FIGS. 4a and b) made of rigid plastic material or preferably sheet metal, a tab strip 7 (FIG. 8) made of a plastic-coated metal sheet is made, and a relatively rigid, plastic cover rail 8 (Fig. 6, 7).

The base plate 5 has a perforation 10 which is offset transversely to its longitudinal center line 9 and consists of two holes 11 sitting at a standardized distance from one another. The base plate 5 is also provided with two fastening slots 12 which run transversely to its longitudinal center line 9 and which sit on the connecting straight line between the two holes 11 within the same.

As is clear from FIG. 8, the two fastening slots 12 are used to fasten the tongue strip 7 to the base tab 5. For this purpose, the tongue strip 7 is inserted from below with its two tongues 13, 14 through the fastening slots 12 until the central section 15 is in contact comes to the bottom of the base tab 5. In the area of the fastening slots 12, the tab strip 7 is bent upwards at an angle of 90 °, so that the tabs 13, 14 protrude vertically to the base tab 5.

The strip-shaped cover flap 6 has on the one hand a perforation 16 which consists of the two holes 17. The latter are aligned in the use position (FIG. 8) in the vertical direction with the holes 11 of the base plate 5. On the other hand, a further perforation 18 with holes 19 is provided in the cover plate 6, which lie on the connecting straight line between the holes 17 within it. Due to the edges of the holes 19 which are flattened by approximately 10 ° to the transverse direction, the tongue ends 13 ', 14', after being pushed through the holes 19, are automatically brought into the oblique arrangement shown in FIG. The holes 19 are aligned in the vertical direction with the fastening slots 12 in the base tab 5 and are used to pass through the tabs 13, 14 of the tab strip 7 (FIGS. 8, 9).

Approximately in the middle between its perforations 16, 18, the cover flap 6 has on its upper side an upwardly projecting guide web 20, which is oriented obliquely in its longitudinal course to the connecting line between the holes 17, 19. The angle between the guide web 20 and the connecting line between the perforations 16, 18 is also about 10 °. The upper edge 21 of the guide web 20 is convexly curved (FIG. 9). The guide web 20 is formed by introducing a flat, convex stamped cut into the metallic strip material of the cover flap 6 and then folding up the area surrounded by the stamped cut.

As is clear from FIGS. 6, 7 and 9, the cover profile rail 8 has a clamp-like cross section with one in the use position cover part 22 located on top. On both sides of its longitudinal sides 23 there are adjoining gripping webs 24 which, with the cover part 22, form an insertion channel 25 for the cover flap 6 and the tongue ends 13 ', 14' bent over onto the top of the cover flap 6. The insertion channel 25 has undercut areas 26 on the longitudinal side. The longitudinal end edges 27 of the gripping webs 24 are at a distance from one another in the transverse direction which is sufficiently large that the stapling tongues 13, 14 and the struts of a stapling mechanism (not shown) of a filing folder can pass through the spacing gap 28.

At one transverse end 29 of the cover profile rail 8, an insert stop 30 is integrally formed on the cover part 22 and protrudes into the insert channel 25. Furthermore, a grip strip 31 projecting transversely to the rail 8 is integrally formed on a longitudinal side 23 of the cover profile rail 8 and lies in one plane with the gripping bar 24 arranged thereon. A corrugation 32 is provided on the upper side of the cover part 22 in the area of one of the transverse ends 29 on the same side, where the insertion stop 30 is also located.

16 in Basislasche 5 bzw. The cover part 22 of the cover profile rail 8 is further provided with a perforation 33, the holes 34 of which are aligned with the holes 11 and 17 of the perforations 10 and 16 in the base plate 5 and cover plate 6 and with the spacing gap 28 in the vertical direction.

To use the stapling device 1, the stack of documents is provided with two perforations by means of commercially available perforators, one of which corresponds to the perforations 10, 16 and 33 in the base plate 5, cover plate 6 and cover profile rail 8 in the hole spacing. The arrangement of the other perforations in the stack of documents 2 corresponds to the inner perforations 18 in the cover flap 6.

To staple the stack of documents 2, the tabs 13, 14 are inserted from below through the inner perforation (FIG. 9, perforation 35), until the base tab 5 rests on the underside 36 of the stack of documents 2. Then the cover flap 6 is plugged with its inner perforation 18 onto the upstanding tongues 13, 14 until the cover flap 6 comes to rest on the top side 37 of the stack of documents 2. Then the tongue ends 13 ', 14' are bent inwards, whereby they do not come to lie cleanly on one another, but next to one another and by the guide web 20 (FIG. 8). The guide web 20 projects with its upper edge 21 beyond the bent tongue ends 13 ', 14'.

Then the cover rail 8 is pushed onto the cover flap 6, including the bent tongue ends 13 ', 14', which is facilitated by the convex design of the upper edge 21 of the guide web 20. The lateral longitudinal edges 38 of the cover flap 6 come to lie in the undercut areas 26 of the profile rail 8. The insertion movement is limited by the insertion stop 30 on the cover rail 8, the insertion stop 30 and the hole 33 in the cover rail 8 are aligned so that in the stop position the holes 34 of the cover rail 8 with the holes 11 and 17 of the base plate 5 or the cover plate 6 are aligned in the vertical direction. Pushing on the cover profile rail 8 is facilitated by the corrugation 32, which also clearly marks the direction of insertion by the stop 30 located on the same side.

The stack of documents 2 stapled as described above can be hung in a stapling mechanism of a filing folder, the struts of the stapling mechanism penetrating the holes 11, 17 and 34 of the base plate 5, cover plate 6 and cover profile rail 8.

Due to the stapling device according to the invention, the stack of documents 2 - as mentioned - is to be filed in a stapled form in the same position in a filing folder as it is for loose sheets becomes. The handle strip 31 (FIGS. 1, 9) projecting beyond the binding edge 4 makes it much easier to remove the stack of documents 2.

As is clear from Fig. 2, the cover rail 8 can be rotated by 180 ° about the vertical axis on the cover flap 6, so that the handle bar 31 points away from the binding edge 4. In this position, the grip strip 31 forms a clean folding edge for the sheets 3 of the stack of documents 2.
