Description

The invention relates to a sleeve buffer for rail vehicles, essentially formed from a buffer tappet with a buffer plate, a buffer sleeve with a base plate that can be screwed on the vehicle side, and a spring.

Through the catalog R 57 of the Ringfeder GmbH from February 24th, 1987, sleeve buffers with the aforementioned features are known. As can be seen from this catalog, there are two versions of buffer housings available: In the so-called standard buffer housing, the buffer tappet with buffer plate and the buffer sleeve with base plate are each in one piece, with a retaining ring welded to the buffer tappet, which is attached in the direction of extension of the sleeve buffer The collar of the buffer sleeve interacts positively. In the other buffer housing, the buffer tappet and the buffer plate are separate parts and are connected by screws. In this design, two half-shells arranged between the buffer tappet and the buffer sleeve serve to limit the extension. For example, a friction spring or a hydraulic capsule can be used as buffer springs. For increased loads on the buffer plate due to the car design or unfavorable operating conditions, it is recommended to weld a plate made of manganese steel into the buffer plate to reduce wear. However, this plate and its attachment mean an increased effort with a corresponding price. Moreover, it has been shown in practice that sleeve buffers equipped with plates made of hard manganese steel show signs of wear, namely before especially in the case of larger buffing plates in the case of larger rubbing movements occurring in narrow curves.

The invention has for its object to form a sleeve buffer of the generic type in a simple and inexpensive manner such that in particular a high resistance to wear can be achieved.

This object is achieved according to the invention in that the buffer plate consists of a surface-hardenable material and, after surface hardening, has a hardness of at least 350 HV 30 at Rht 250> = 3 mm.

Advantageous further developments of the subject matter of the invention can be found in the subclaims.

The invention is described in more detail below on the basis of exemplary embodiments which are illustrated in the drawing. 1 and 2 each show a sleeve buffer in longitudinal section.

The two sleeve buffers essentially consist of a buffer plunger 1 with a buffer plate 1 a, a buffer sleeve 2 with a base plate 2 a screwable on the vehicle side, and a spring 3 symbolized here.

In order to limit the extension of the sleeve buffer and thus also to determine the pretensioning force of the spring 3, a retaining ring 5 is welded onto the open end of the buffer tappet 1 a, which cooperates in a form-fitting manner with a collar 2 b of the buffer sleeve 2. In the buffer according to FIG. 2, two half-shells 6 are provided for the extension limitation, which are held in a circumferential groove of the buffer sleeve 2 and bear against a collar 1c of the buffer tappet 1.

In both exemplary embodiments, a feather key 7 and an associated longitudinal groove 2c and 1d ensure that the buffer tappet 1 and the buffer sleeve 2 are connected to one another in a rotationally fixed manner in the circumferential direction.

The respective buffer plate 1a, which is rectangular in side view, consists of a surface-hardenable material, such as Cf 35. After surface hardening by flame hardening or by induction, the buffer plate 1a has a Vickers hardness of at least 350 HV 30 at Rht 250> = 3 mm. According to DIN 50 133, 350 is the hardness value; HV 30 means that this hardness value can be determined with a test force of 294.2 N and an exposure time of 10s to 15s. The further specified hardening depth to be determined in accordance with DIN 50 190 Part 2 is made up of the abbreviation Rht, the limit hardness according to Vickers and the amount of the hardening depth in mm. With the material Cf 35 higher values can easily be achieved, for example 450 HV 30 at Rht 350> = 3 mm.

The buffer plate 1a is usually formed by forging, the associated heating leading to decarburization of the outer material layer. In view of this, the buffer plate 1a is machined on its abutting surface before the surface hardening to a depth of about 1.5 mm, so that decarburized material is safely removed. During this processing, a roughness depth R z = <16 µm should be maintained in order to achieve a smooth sliding of interacting buffer plates 1a. This good gliding can be improved by applying a lubricant later.

Das Schweißen bereitet keine Schwierigkeiten, wenn die Bauteile 1a und 1b auf eine Temperatur in der Größenordnung von 150 °C bis 200 °C vorgewärmt werden.1, the material Cf 35 was selected in order to connect the buffer plate 1a by a circumferential weld seam 4 to the tubular part 1b of the buffer tappet 1, which is made of conventional steel (e.g. St 52-3) can. The welding presents no difficulties if the components 1a and 1b are on one Temperature in the order of 150 ° C to 200 ° C to be preheated.

In the case of the sleeve buffer according to FIG. 2, the buffer plate 1a and the tubular part 1b of the buffer tappet 1 are united by screws 8. In this case, the buffer plate 1a can easily be formed from a surface-hardenable material with a higher carbon content. To ensure that no cracks can occur in the area of the through bores of the buffer plate 1a, appropriate precautionary measures must be taken during hardening; this includes z. B. Using a mild quenching agent.

The invention provides a sleeve buffer that is simple and inexpensive to manufacture. In operation, this sleeve buffer is characterized above all by the fact that its buffer plate is resistant to wear. As a result, the buffer according to the invention is also ideally suited for long two-axle freight wagons in which large frictional movements occur between adjacent buffer plates, particularly in narrow bends.
