Anspruch 9 gibt eine besonders vorteilhafte Anordnung der Exzenter für die Tabakstrangverdichtung an. Diese ist nach der Erfindung so gewählt, daß sich die verdichteten Abschnitte im Tabakstrang bis zum Abnehmen des Überschusses nicht wieder aufweiten können. Die Umlaufebene des Kreismessers 32 ist etwa parallel zu der Ebene der Haltescheiben 26a und 26b und berührt diese in der Berührungszone 33 der Haltescheiben oder verläuft dicht darüber, so daß der zwischen den Haltescheiben festgehaltene Tabak abgescheert wird.
