Definitions
- the invention relates to a toggle switch in which a rocker switch mounted opposite the housing is acted upon by an actuator with a force which has a point of action which moves along the rocker switch.
- a switch is known for example from DE-GM 19 03 576.
- An actuating slide is shifted along a rocker switch, an actuating member resiliently mounted in the actuating slide sliding along the rocker switch and abruptly bringing the rocker switch into a new position when the stationary bearing point is passed over.
- rocker switch with rocker switch is also known, in which the rocker is shifted in its longitudinal direction during the switching process.
- the tilting movement of the rocker button is limited in both directions by two fixed stops.
- the invention is therefore based on a toggle switch which results from the preamble of claim 1.
- the object of the invention is to construct such a toggle switch with simple means such that it can be switched particularly quiet.
- the invention is achieved by the combination of features resulting from the characterizing part of claim 1.
- the invention therefore consists in providing a stop for the actuating element sliding along the rocker switch, which limits the movement of the switching element after the rocker switch has reached its new position.
- the switching torque can be limited with which the switching contact on the rocker on the stationary one Contact sets up.
- the invention provides the possibility of designing the movement path limiting the actuating member in such a way that the movement of the actuating member is braked gradually in a suitable manner.
- Another advantage of the invention is that the movement path can be designed in such a way that a force extending in the longitudinal direction of the rocker switch results, which is caused by a corresponding movement of the rocker switch by means of grinding movements of the rocker relative to the fixed bearing and the fixed contact to reduce contact resistance leads.
- the cam track is preferably designed such that the contact on the rocker contacts the stationary contact with comparatively little force in order to avoid bouncing, whereupon the contact pressure of the contact is increased to the desired value and finally the switching element is held in this desired position by the stop on the rocker switch. Due to its inertia, the switching element can move a short distance beyond the end position and then assume this as a stable end position.
- the measure according to claim 3 is recommended in a further development of the invention.
- the force of the switching element not required for the switching process is taken up in the longitudinal direction of the switching rocker.
- the use of the features described in claim 5 is particularly advantageous, since here the force exerted in the longitudinal direction of the rocker switch is simultaneously reduced to reduce the contact resistance by appropriate frictional movements. In this way, the electrical transition from the cutting bearing to the rocker switch and from there back to the stationary contact is improved.
- the inventive principle can also be used on both sides with regard to the rocker switch, so that, according to claim 6, the invention can also be used for changeover switches.
- a toggle button 3 is rotatably mounted in the housing 2 or on corresponding projections of the base plate 1, the toggle button 3 e.g. protrudes over circular cylindrical lugs 4 into corresponding recesses fixed to the housing and can be rotatable therein or protrude into the corresponding recesses in the housing in a suitable recess in the toggle button.
- the toggle button 3 has a guide projection 5, in which an actuator 6 is slidably guided.
- the actuator is biased by a spring 7, which tries to push the actuator 6 out of the guide projection 5.
- the conical or cutting-shaped front link end 8 is supported on a rocker switch 9, which in turn is supported on a housing extension 10 with its opposite surface.
- the rocker switch 9 is mounted in a contact piece 12 fixed to the base plate via a cutting bearing 11.
- the storage is provided such that the rocker switch 9 is in its longitudinal direction by a predetermined amount b can move the contact piece 12 before lateral projections 13, 14 strike against the legs on a fork 15 at the upper end of the contact piece 12 in FIG. 1.
- the protrusion 14 therefore bears against the legs of the fork 15.
- lugs 16, 17 projecting in the direction of the guide projection 5 are provided, which are arranged fixed to the housing and are connected in one piece either to the housing 1 itself or to the cover 2.
- tabs can also be manufactured separately and subsequently inserted into the housing.
- the task of the tabs 16, 17 is, on the one hand, to limit the movement of the toggle button 3, so that it is locked in the bearing shown in FIG. 1 and can therefore no longer be pressed in after the desired actuation position has been reached.
- the tabs 16, 17 can serve to intercept the inertial movement of the rocker switch 3, so that its movement is damped.
- the force of the link end causes a contact 19 connected to the rocker switch 9 to be placed on a contact 20 fixed to the housing after the rocker switch 9 has pivoted.
- This situation is shown in Fig. 2.
- the link end 8 in FIG. 2 is moved further along the path 18 to the right until it runs against a stop 21 on the rocker which limits the path of the link end 8.
- the stop is formed by a curve in the curved path 18, the side flank of which is so high that the link end 8 is held in its counterclockwise movement.
- a partial force X is split off from the force indicated by an arrow F and acts in the longitudinal direction of the rocker switch 9.
- the rocker switch 9 thus moves to the right as far as is possible through the corresponding storage.
- the cutting bearing 11 is formed by a floating bearing 11, which allows the rocker switch a free path in the X direction, which will be called b below.
- This path b results, as already explained above, in that the distance of the projections 13, 14 from the amount b is greater than the width of the fork extension 15.
- the invention is therefore suitable for all switches which have a rocker switch which changes their position, it being immaterial whether the switch is actuated for this purpose by a sliding button or by a toggle button.
- the invention is also suitable not only for on / off switches, but also for changeover switches, the stop (21) according to the invention being arranged essentially symmetrically opposite one another on the rocker on both sides of the bearing. such as B. the second stop (22) shows.
- the actuator 6 is resiliently mounted in the guide projection 5. As a result, the actuator 6 resiliently runs the stop 21 on the rocker switch 9. The spring action described results in additional damping and thus noise reduction of the actuator 6 running onto the stop 21.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a toggle switch in which a rocker switch mounted opposite the housing is acted upon by an actuator with a force which has a point of action which moves along the rocker switch. Such a switch is known for example from DE-GM 19 03 576. An actuating slide is shifted along a rocker switch, an actuating member resiliently mounted in the actuating slide sliding along the rocker switch and abruptly bringing the rocker switch into a new position when the stationary bearing point is passed over. With such switches there is the problem that on the one hand a strong support of the switch contact attached to the rocker switch is desired compared to the fixed contact, but on the other hand the switching noises caused by the considerable switching forces are disruptive.
Similar problems occur when a toggle button is selected instead of a slide, as is shown for example in DE-OS 39 15 767. To avoid switching noises, spring projections have been created for the side surfaces of the rocker switch, which protrude gradually from the housing and are intended to slow down the speed of movement of the rocker switch in its end region, so that the sudden switching noises of the colliding Contacts are mitigated. In addition, attempts have been made to adapt the spring action to the desired damping effect by constructively designing the housing projections. This was achieved, for example, by means of special rubber buffers attached to the projections or by an increased elasticity of the projections, which were designed in a meandering manner for this purpose.
The measures described require considerable additional effort without the desired damping effect being able to be achieved in full.
From DE-OS 30 16 995 a rocker switch with rocker switch is also known, in which the rocker is shifted in its longitudinal direction during the switching process. The tilting movement of the rocker button is limited in both directions by two fixed stops.
The invention is therefore based on a toggle switch which results from the preamble of claim 1. The object of the invention is to construct such a toggle switch with simple means such that it can be switched particularly quiet.
The invention is achieved by the combination of features resulting from the characterizing part of claim 1. In principle, the invention therefore consists in providing a stop for the actuating element sliding along the rocker switch, which limits the movement of the switching element after the rocker switch has reached its new position. In this way, on the one hand, the switching torque can be limited with which the switching contact on the rocker on the stationary one Contact sets up. Furthermore, the invention provides the possibility of designing the movement path limiting the actuating member in such a way that the movement of the actuating member is braked gradually in a suitable manner. Another advantage of the invention is that the movement path can be designed in such a way that a force extending in the longitudinal direction of the rocker switch results, which is caused by a corresponding movement of the rocker switch by means of grinding movements of the rocker relative to the fixed bearing and the fixed contact to reduce contact resistance leads.
In order to reduce the formation of striking switching noises particularly strongly, the combination of features according to
In order to limit the force in the mounting direction of the rocker contact to the stationary contact, the measure according to claim 3 is recommended in a further development of the invention. The force of the switching element not required for the switching process is taken up in the longitudinal direction of the switching rocker.
A particularly expedient application of the invention results for a switch with the combination of features listed in claim 4. With switches of this type, the rotational speed of the button and the force exerted in the contact direction of the contacts increase more and more towards the end position of the toggle button, until finally this movement is increasingly limited by the contact of the contacts.
In such an embodiment, the use of the features described in
In a further development of the invention, the inventive principle can also be used on both sides with regard to the rocker switch, so that, according to claim 6, the invention can also be used for changeover switches.
In order to ensure that the contacts are initially bump-free and that the contacts or the bearing point are then self-cleaned, the combination of features according to claim 7 is recommended in a further development of the invention.

In the description, the individual components of the switch shown in the drawing are only explained to the extent that they are essential to the invention.
The toggle button 3 has a
The
In the bearing shown in FIG. 1, the
If one now presses the left side of the toggle button 3 in the drawing, the
After passing through the cutting bearing 11 through the
The force of the link end causes a
This movement of the rocker switch 9 when the
For the design of the
The invention is therefore suitable for all switches which have a rocker switch which changes their position, it being immaterial whether the switch is actuated for this purpose by a sliding button or by a toggle button. The invention is also suitable not only for on / off switches, but also for changeover switches, the stop (21) according to the invention being arranged essentially symmetrically opposite one another on the rocker on both sides of the bearing. such as B. the second stop (22) shows.
It is also important for the object of the invention that the actuator 6 is resiliently mounted in the
