The inner tube 23 has a measuring scale 29 which is flush with the outer circumference. The scale 29 can be embedded as a band in the outer circumference of the inner tube 23 or else it is stamped into the surface of the inner tube 23. It is possible that the embossed points on the scale are filled with a particularly scratch-resistant paint. It is also possible for the paint to have fluoriscent components.
Figur 4 zeigt eine weitere Stütze im Querschnitt bestehend aus einem profilierten Außenrohr 32 in dem ein entsprechend profiliertes Innenrohr 33 geführt ist. Die stütze ist längenverstellbar, in dem das Innenrohr 33 im Außenrohr 32 längs verschiebbar gelagert ist. Das Innenrohr 33 ist zum Außenrohr 32 über eine Gewindeverbindung, die in der Figur nicht gezeigt ist, verschiebefest fixierbar. Die in Figur 4 gezeigte Stütze ist stufenlos längenverstellbar. Das Innenrohr 33 weist eine Nut 36 auf, in der über die gesamte Länge des Innenrohrs 33 eine Maßskala geführt gehalten ist. Die Maßskala kann als Band ausgeführt sein, das in die Nut eingeführt ist. Die Nut 36 ist beispielhaft nur an einem Seitenteil dieses Innenrohrs ausgebildet. Die Nut 36 kann aber auch an weiteren entsprechenden Flächen am Außenumfang des Innenrohrs 33 zusätzlich ausgebildet sein. Wie Fig. 1 zeigt, ist die Teilung der Maßskala 9, also der Abstand der einzelnen Kennzeichnungen (in Fig. 1 sind dies Striche) erheblich kleiner als der Abstand der Durchbrüche 6 in dem die Maßskala 9 tragenden Innenrohr 3. Im Beispiel entspricht der Abstand zwischen zwei Durchbrüchen 6 dem vierfachen Abstand zwischen zwei Strichen der Maßskala 9.
