- Components such as e.g. Air conditioning systems, fan fans, heaters, toilet flushes, etc. are used, which can be generally referred to as electrical, electronic or electromechanical components.
- the primary task of electronic controls is usually to control electromechanical systems according to predefined guidelines according to their functional purpose and the running processes according to predefined ones Regulate criteria.
- various sensors e.g. temperature sensors, are used to determine information from all parts of the system and supply it to the controller in the form of electrical signals, process it in the controller using, for example, programmed logic, and then the resulting commands from the controller via electromechanical actuators to the components fed to the plant.
- a frequently encountered secondary task of an electronic control is to use this information and any additional signals that may be added to automatically determine whether there are faults in the controlled electromechanical system (technical fault diagnosis). Plausibility checks are often carried out for this purpose, sometimes redundant signals are compared, and feedback from the controlled process (existing or provided specifically for diagnostic purposes) is often used. For example, a faulty sensor can be identified on the basis of physically impossible measured values, a faulty switching element mostly through a feedback manipulated variable, a process that has gotten out of control due to one or more measured values that lie outside their permissible range.
- a control center capable of diagnosis recognizes from the information available to it that there is an abnormal state with the aid of logical conclusions, it generates an error message.
- the content of such error messages depends on the nature of the error and the faulty component, however, the type and location of the fault are usually specified, often also the time and date and important process values at the time of the error.
- statistical data with the same mechanisms as faults is stored in the control center's fault memory, for example, operating hours, switching cycles and wear data of individual system components to collect.
- Various embodiments are also known which can display this error message visibly for the operating personnel and which differ on the one hand by the technology used (for example signal lamps, numerical displays, text displays, interactive data display devices), and on the other hand by the underlying system philosophy (for example representation of the acute errors and / or the stored errors, priority-controlled display, staggered depth of information depending on the user).
- the technology used for example signal lamps, numerical displays, text displays, interactive data display devices
- the underlying system philosophy for example representation of the acute errors and / or the stored errors, priority-controlled display, staggered depth of information depending on the user.
- Almost all known versions have in common that they store a list of the most recently generated error messages in a memory of the control center (history memory) in order to provide the maintenance personnel with any information as to the history of the occurrence of a malfunction. If a display of the error messages is requested (for example on a display panel or via a data line on a connected computer), the data required for this are taken from the error memory.
- a disadvantage of such known devices with central fault storage is that the information collected in the central fault memory only reflects the correct fault history of the system as long as the components of the system are left unchanged. In the event of a fault, however, components are usually exchanged; however, the saved error messages (as well as any saved statistical data such as operating hours) relate to the original component, they are neither applicable nor usable after the exchange and are usually deleted.
- each interchangeable component is assigned a sub-station, each sub-station has a non-volatile error memory, the control center being set up to not only provide error messages relating to individual components in it To store error memories, but also to send out such error messages to the relevant component, the substation of which in turn is set up to receive the error message and to store it in its error memory, which is a physical part of the substation and thus the component.
- each error message is thus stored decentrally within the rail vehicle component concerned, a second copy of the error message being present in the control center for precaution, for example in the event of extensive destruction of the component.
- the transmission path between the components can be a serial data bus, or else a data network or, in the simplest case, point-to-point lines.
- control center is set up to provide a substation address with the help of an I / O map when an error message is generated.
- an I / O map contains permanently programmed information about the substation address on which the individual signals are read or output.
- control center is set up to provide the exact identification data for each substation address, e.g. Determine the serial number and type designation of the component and save it in a configuration table, and use error code, substation identification data and identification data from the control center to construct the header of the error message.
- the substation of a component has a memory area for storing identification data and the control center is set up to independently build up its configuration table from the data stored in the memory areas of each substation and to keep it up to date.
- control center is set up to output an error message list, which includes the copies of the error messages stored in the error memories of the substations, upon request via an input / output unit.
- a head center in particular arranged in a traction vehicle, is provided which is superordinate to the individual control centers arranged in wagons and is connected to them for the exchange of data telegrams via a transmission path.
- FIG. 1 shows a block diagram of a device according to the invention
- Fig. 2 with the aid of a structure diagram the further function of the device according to the invention.
- a plurality of electrical, electromechanical or electronic components 2a, 2b, 2c are provided in a rail vehicle 1 outlined in dashed lines.
- Such components can be the components of an air conditioning system, such as a cooling unit, here 2a, supply air, pressure protection and exhaust air fans, here 2b, and a heating unit, here 2c. But it can also be the components of a vacuum toilet system, an automatic door system or the energy supply system.
- sensors such as e.g. Temperature sensors, determined actual value signals and specifiable setpoint signals are regulated or controlled.
- a sub-station 3a, 3b, 3c is provided in each component 2a, 2b, 2c, which contains a microcomputer 4a, b, c and a communication interface 5a, b, c.
- the substations 3a, b c are connected via a transmission path 6, e.g. a data bus or a data network with a control center 7, which spatially e.g. is provided at one end of the rail vehicle 1.
- the control centers 7, 7 'of individual rail vehicles 1, 1' such as, in particular, passenger coaches, can be superimposed on a head center 8, which is located, for example, in the driver's cab of the locomotive.
- the control center 7 has an interface 9, at least one microcomputer 10, an error memory 11 and an input / output unit 12.
- the device essentially corresponds to the state of the art as described at the beginning.
- a non-volatile error memory 13a, b, c in each substation 3a, b c is essential for the invention.
- This error memory 13a, b c must be implemented in non-volatile technology or be a battery-buffered RAM memory and it can be implemented independently of the main memory of the microcomputer 4a, b, c or as an area of this main memory.
- the microcomputer 4a, b c or its working memory also has a memory area 14a, b c for storing identification data, which is described in more detail below. If a head center 8 is present, it is connected to the individual control centers 7, 7 'via a transmission path 15, e.g. a data bus or a radio link.
- each replaceable component 2a, 2b, 2c of the system forms an inseparable unit with its own substation 3a, 3b, 3c.
- Components that are present more than once receive their own substation. It can be advantageous to give each individual sensor or actuator the character of an independent substation 3a, 3b, 3c.
- the primary function of an air conditioning system control can be assumed to be known and is not the subject of the invention. It consists of capturing setpoints and actual values of all required measured variables and, by activating and metering the system components heating 2c, ventilation 2b and cooling 2a, as well as their subcomponents such as air flaps, blowers, reheating elements etc., ensure that the specified comfort criteria are met . Numerous exemplary embodiments are also known for the secondary function of this device, the fault diagnosis. This fault diagnosis is based on the existing measured values, signals and the respective state of the controlled process through logical operations of any abnormal behavior of the system or individual system components and to generate an error message if a fault occurs.
- FIG. 2 the method used or the function of the device according to Fig. 1 is only described to the extent that it is necessary for an understanding of the invention.
- An important data structure for each decentrally installed system in the control center 7 is often referred to as an I / O map and contains permanently programmed information about the substation address on which the individual signals are read or output.
- This table is supplemented by a configuration table, which is also located in the control center 7 and which, according to FIG.
- the type of the fault (the error code) and the lexical (based on the signals used in the relevant algorithm and the mentioned I / O map) the address of the substation 3a, 3b, 3c, which results procedurally (from the type of algorithm in question) is affected by the fault (several substations can also be affected by the fault).
- the program then takes the exact identification data of this substation from the configuration table mentioned.
- the error code, substation address, substation identification data and identification data of the control center form the head of an error message, which initially together with all those diagnostic data that are programmed in one Error messages for the type of malfunction in question must be contained (for example time, date, and a selection of measured values and signals at the time of the malfunction) in the working memory of the control center 7.
- a copy of this error message is then stored in a known manner in the non-volatile or battery-backed part of the memory of the control center provided for this purpose, that is, in the error memory 11, but a second copy according to the invention via the data network 6 in the error memory 13a, 13b, 13c of the substation 3a concerned , 3b, 3c, where it remains even if the affected substation should be removed from the system together with the disturbed component 2a, 2b, 2c in the course of troubleshooting.
- This completes the error storage process and the normal operating sequence of the control is continued by repeating the endless loop mentioned.
- the list of all error messages is normally composed of those error messages which are in the error memories 13a, 13b, 13c of the substations 3a, 3b, 3c are stored.
- the corresponding copy in the memory 11 of the control center 7 is used only in the event of a faulty substation.
- the error messages stored in the individual substations 3a, 3b, 3c are read into the working memory of the control center 7 via the data network 6, linked there into a single complete list and displayed to the user in the manner provided for this purpose.
Abstract
Description
Device for controlling and regulating electrical, electronic or electromechanical components in rail vehicles, substations which contain a microcomputer and a communication interface are connected to a control center via at least one transmission path and the control center contains at least one microcomputer and an interface as well as a non-volatile fault memory and is set up to generate error messages with an error code in the event of abnormal operating behavior of the components by processing data arriving from the substations and to store them in the error memory.
Components such as e.g. Air conditioning systems, fan fans, heaters, toilet flushes, etc. are used, which can be generally referred to as electrical, electronic or electromechanical components.
Complex electromechanical systems in rail vehicles require a large number of sensors and actuators, all of which are connected to an electronic control. In the case of strictly central electronic controls, a correspondingly large number of lines must therefore be laid to the central office and concentrated there at one point. Decentralized embodiments of such controls are therefore also known, in which the sensors and actuators are connected to suitable electronic devices in the vicinity of their respective installation location, which e.g. are referred to as data concentrators, peripheral modules, substations and the like. In the following, for the sake of simplicity, as substations, which in turn are connected to a control center via data lines (data network or point-to-point connections).
The primary task of electronic controls is usually to control electromechanical systems according to predefined guidelines according to their functional purpose and the running processes according to predefined ones Regulate criteria. For this purpose, various sensors, e.g. temperature sensors, are used to determine information from all parts of the system and supply it to the controller in the form of electrical signals, process it in the controller using, for example, programmed logic, and then the resulting commands from the controller via electromechanical actuators to the components fed to the plant.
In order to be able to fulfill its primary task, such a control system has a high level of information about the system to be controlled. Therefore, a frequently encountered secondary task of an electronic control is to use this information and any additional signals that may be added to automatically determine whether there are faults in the controlled electromechanical system (technical fault diagnosis).
As soon as a control center capable of diagnosis recognizes from the information available to it that there is an abnormal state with the aid of logical conclusions, it generates an error message. The content of such error messages depends on the nature of the error and the faulty component, however, the type and location of the fault are usually specified, often also the time and date and important process values at the time of the error. In addition, statistical data with the same mechanisms as faults is stored in the control center's fault memory, for example, operating hours, switching cycles and wear data of individual system components to collect. Various embodiments are also known which can display this error message visibly for the operating personnel and which differ on the one hand by the technology used (for example signal lamps, numerical displays, text displays, interactive data display devices), and on the other hand by the underlying system philosophy (for example representation of the acute errors and / or the stored errors, priority-controlled display, staggered depth of information depending on the user). Almost all known versions have in common that they store a list of the most recently generated error messages in a memory of the control center (history memory) in order to provide the maintenance personnel with any information as to the history of the occurrence of a malfunction. If a display of the error messages is requested (for example on a display panel or via a data line on a connected computer), the data required for this are taken from the error memory.
A disadvantage of such known devices with central fault storage is that the information collected in the central fault memory only reflects the correct fault history of the system as long as the components of the system are left unchanged. In the event of a fault, however, components are usually exchanged; however, the saved error messages (as well as any saved statistical data such as operating hours) relate to the original component, they are neither applicable nor usable after the exchange and are usually deleted.
Another disadvantage of the above-mentioned devices with central error storage is that the error history of each individual system component lies in the central memory of the above-mentioned device. In the event of a malfunction, the component is usually replaced, i.e. removed from the system and repaired in a suitable workshop. All information that the fault history describes the component in question and which could possibly provide valuable information for the repair, however, remains in the central fault memory of the system (and is deleted there). Although the list of errors can be printed out and given to the defective component for repair, this procedure overwhelms the maintenance personnel in many cases and can also lead to confusion regarding the assignment of error printouts to defective components.
It is an object of the invention to provide a device of the type described which is free from these disadvantages, the stored error messages in particular being intended to be clearly available for a component which is also removed from the rail vehicle.
This object is achieved on the basis of a device of the type specified at the outset in that each interchangeable component is assigned a sub-station, each sub-station has a non-volatile error memory, the control center being set up to not only provide error messages relating to individual components in it To store error memories, but also to send out such error messages to the relevant component, the substation of which in turn is set up to receive the error message and to store it in its error memory, which is a physical part of the substation and thus the component.
Thanks to the invention, each error message is thus stored decentrally within the rail vehicle component concerned, a second copy of the error message being present in the control center for precaution, for example in the event of extensive destruction of the component.
The transmission path between the components can be a serial data bus, or else a data network or, in the simplest case, point-to-point lines.
It is useful if the control center is set up to provide a substation address with the help of an I / O map when an error message is generated. Such an I / O map contains permanently programmed information about the substation address on which the individual signals are read or output.
It is advantageous if the control center is set up to provide the exact identification data for each substation address, e.g. Determine the serial number and type designation of the component and save it in a configuration table, and use error code, substation identification data and identification data from the control center to construct the header of the error message.
It is advantageous if the substation of a component has a memory area for storing identification data and the control center is set up to independently build up its configuration table from the data stored in the memory areas of each substation and to keep it up to date.
It is furthermore expedient if the control center is set up to output an error message list, which includes the copies of the error messages stored in the error memories of the substations, upon request via an input / output unit.
It can also be particularly advantageous if a head center, in particular arranged in a traction vehicle, is provided which is superordinate to the individual control centers arranged in wagons and is connected to them for the exchange of data telegrams via a transmission path.
The invention together with its further advantages and features is described in more detail below with the aid of an exemplary embodiment explained, which is illustrated in the drawing, in which Fig. 1 shows a block diagram of a device according to the invention and Fig. 2 with the aid of a structure diagram the further function of the device according to the invention.

The arrangement of a
The advantages of the present invention come into play most clearly when each
The primary function of an air conditioning system control, as shown in FIG. 1 by way of example, can be assumed to be known and is not the subject of the invention. It consists of capturing setpoints and actual values of all required measured variables and, by activating and metering the system components heating 2c,
In Fig. 2 the method used or the function of the device according to Fig. 1 is only described to the extent that it is necessary for an understanding of the invention. An important data structure for each decentrally installed system in the
If at any time the
