Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a switch cap according to the preamble of
Switch caps are used in pushbutton switches as actuators and reset elements for the pushbuttons.
From DE-OS 41 12 754, such a switch cap for a push-button switch provided with a pushbutton is known, which has a base base, a cover which is narrower than the base base and a flexible thin-walled membrane connecting the base base and the cover. A contact surface for bridging fixed contacts is attached to the base on its surface facing the cover. When the pushbutton switch is actuated, the pushbutton acts on the base base, so that the lifting movement for actuating the switch cap takes place through the base base in the direction of the cover.
The fixed contacts, which are bridged by the contact surface of the switch cap, are usually located on a circuit board on which the cover of the switch cap rests. The switch cap is fixed in relation to the circuit board by a guide receptacle in the push button.
The disadvantage here is that the pushbutton has to be complex to provide a suitable guide for the switch cap. Nevertheless, when the switch cap is actuated, the cover can shift in the plane of the circuit board, which can result in poor contact between the contact surface and the fixed contacts. It can even happen that the switch cap slips out of the guide receptacle in the push button, making the switch inoperable.
The invention has for its object to develop a switch cap of the type mentioned in such a way that a guide receptacle in the push button can be dispensed with, while the functional reliability of the switch cap is to be increased.
This object is achieved in a generic switch cap by the features of
The advantages which can be achieved with the invention consist in particular in that the switch cap is securely fastened to the carrier part containing the fixed contacts. Moving the cover of the switch cap in the plane of the carrier part is impossible. This ensures safe contact. It should also be emphasized that a total failure of the switch due to a fallen switch cap can no longer occur. The fastening of the switch cap to the carrier part realized with the invention is simple and therefore inexpensive to manufacture. A complex guide on the push button is no longer required, so that the entire switch can be designed more easily. In addition, the switch cap can be installed simply and securely by inserting it into the carrier part.
Further embodiments of the invention are the subject of the dependent claims. In particular, it is advantageous to design the fastening element as a pin with a round cross section arranged centrally on the cover, since then a simple bore in the carrier part is sufficient to accommodate the fastening part. To facilitate assembly, the pin can be designed with a conical taper. A simple manufacture of the switch cap with fastening part in one injection molding process is possible if the fastening part is connected in one piece to the cover. On the other hand, a conventional switch cap can be retrofitted with a fastening part if the fastening part is designed as a separate part. In this case, the fastening part can be designed as a pin with a head, so that the pin can be inserted from the side facing the base base into an opening in the cover of the switch cap, the pin being held by the head on the cover.
In some cases it is desirable that the push button switch be illuminated. In such a case, the illuminant can also be the fastening part. The cover of the switch cap then has an opening, so that the cover can be non-positively placed on the lamp attached to the carrier part.

The
As can be seen in FIG. 2, in the present exemplary embodiment the
The
The
To fix the
In the embodiment shown in more detail in FIG. 1, the
In a further embodiment shown in FIG. 3, the
In the embodiments shown in FIGS. 1 and 3, the
Another exemplary embodiment can be seen in more detail in FIG. 4. There, the
In some applications, the push button on the push button switch has a transparent function symbol or provided with a light window that can be illuminated by a lamp located in the push button switch. Such a
The
In another embodiment, which is shown in more detail in FIGS. 6 and 7, the illuminant can also be formed by a light-emitting diode as an SMD component 27 (SMD = Surface Mounted Device). This light-emitting diode as
As can be seen further in FIG. 7, the
