Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a smoking product (cigars or cigarettes) containing at least one material to smoking chosen from natural tobacco, reconstituted tobacco, tobacco substitutes which include non-tobacco, natural or synthetic products offered to completely or partially replace tobacco in a smoking product.
The invention relates to such a product which generates, during its consumption, a main current with low quantities of undesirable constituents and whose flavor and the aroma are improved, and secondhand smoke having a pleasant aroma.
It has already been proposed to incorporate substances, and including organic additives to smoking products but the high degree of volatility and the ease of sublimation of these substances in smoking products cause difficulties due to loss of substances during manufacturing and storage.
The invention sought to obtain that it be the envelope of the product that emits one or more substances aromatic during smoking which improve the quality organoleptic of secondhand smoke and smoke primary, by adding a note complementary to those produced by burning the material or by masking of its effect.
To achieve this objective, the invention proposes a product in which have been added to its envelope a mixture of a reducing sugar, non-volatile at temperature ambient and a nitrogen compound chosen from the salts ammonium and amino acids, and able to decompose by pyrolysis, releasing ammonia.
Among the reducing sugars, glucose, fructose and starch hydrolysates among the salts ammonium, phosphates, carbonates, citrates and ammonium acetates and, among the amino acids, proline, asparagine, glutamine and phenylalanine.
The compounds will be mixed in proportions of preferably equimolecular, so as to obtain during the combustion of the smoking product, their combination which leads to the formation of nitrogen heterocycles and including pyrazines.
This mixture of compounds can be added to the envelope by various known means which can be combined to achieve the desired effect.
De préférence on ajoute de 0,5 à 4 %.For example, we can introduce it in "size press" under form of a solution or suspension with others additives. The maximum quantity depends on the load allowable which maintains the structure of the paper. It is possible to add from 0.5 to 10% of compounds based on dry matter. Preferably 0.5 to 4% is added.
It can also be added as an ingredient in composition of paper or as a surface product by coating, or directly on the envelope on the cigars or cigarettes maker in the form of a solution or suspension.
It can also be incorporated into the formulation of the envelope seam glue.
Below are some examples of mixtures according to the invention and their application to the envelope or paper of the product envelope.
A solution of 1.8 g of glucose and 1.2 g of ammonium sesquicarbonate (NH 4 ) 2 CO 3 , NH 4 HCO 3 , H 2 O is prepared in 100 g of cold water (preferably at temperature below 15 degrees C so as not to decompose ammonium sesquicarbonate). 1.45 g of ammonium citrate and 1.15 g of potassium citrate are added. Other salts usually added to paper could be used to modify its combustion.
We apply this solution on a paper machine classic in size press on a paper matrix reference VGB 40 C from the company Lana and we are piloting the machine so as to obtain a deposit of active material carbonylated and nitrogenous in the order of 3% compared to dry weight of paper.
The same experiment is carried out using a solution of 1.8 g of starch hydrolyzate sold by the company Rocket under the brand FLOLYS and a mixture of acids amines comprising 0.6 g of proline, 0.3 g of asparagine, 0.2 g of glutamine and 0.1 g of phenylalanine per 100 g of water. Add the same amount of additives combustion modifiers as in the example previous.
The paper is produced under known conditions of so as to apply the same rate as before.
A paper is produced under identical conditions. from a solution of 2.46 g of FLOLYS of a mixture 0.8 g of monoammonium phosphate and 0.2 g of diammonium phosphate in order to obtain a solution odorless. This solution is also prepared in now the temperature below 15 degrees C to avoid degassing of ammonia and includes also the same amounts of modifier additives combustion.
Application on paper machine is done at the same rate than previously.
We make with the papers obtained according to examples 1 to 4 of cigarettes without filter of length 70 mm and diameter 7.9 mpm with a commercial mixture of tobacco for brown cigarettes including brown tobacco, oriental tobacco, brown ribs and TR.
These cigarettes, produced respectively according to examples 1 to 4, are tasted by a panel of experts in comparison with a batch made from the same mixture wrapped in similar paper but does not comprising no additive according to the invention.
It was found that smoke from wrapped cigarettes of papers according to the invention are different from the witness. Generally, we notice that the smell of brown is softened, smoke softening, exfoliation fermented and roasted flavors, a decrease in bitterness and bitterness. Smoke has an odor woody, crust of bread, a foreign and new aroma blending well with the flavor of tobacco.
