Description

The invention relates to a pack made of thin cardboard for a plurality of cuboid small packs, in particular cigarette packs, which completely fill an interior, namely a packing chamber. Such a pack is e.g. known from US-A-2 783 829.

Bundle packs for a plurality of cigarette packs - so-called cigarette packs - are known in various embodiments. In many cases, these packagings consist of thin cardboard.

The dimensions of the packs are internationally determined by the dimensions of the cigarette packs. Recently, however, packs have been developed, in particular hinge-lid packs, which have smaller dimensions, namely a lower height than the conventional cigarette packs. The smaller packs (hinged boxes) are used to hold shorter cigarettes or cigarette-like, rod-shaped smoking articles. The height of these packs is approximately 60 mm with a minimum height of the conventional cigarette packs of approximately 80 mm. The remaining dimensions (width and depth) correspond to the dimensions of the conventional folding boxes in this new pack type.

The aim of the invention is to adapt the pack to the smaller dimensions of the small packs (cigarette packs). The handling of packs from small packs should be possible in the same way as with packs from packs of normal size.

The invention is based on the object of proposing a pack for several small packs which has (significantly) larger external dimensions than the volume of the small packs belonging to the pack.

To achieve this object, the container pack according to the invention is characterized in that in the region of a bottom wall, or below it, a downwardly open compensation chamber is formed which extends over the entire surface of the bottom wall, in such a way that the outer dimensions of the container pack are significantly larger than the packing chamber.

The inventive configuration of the pack is primarily intended for cigarette packs whose dimensions, in particular their height, are significantly less than the height of conventional cigarette packs. As a result of the packaging according to the invention, these smaller cigarette packs or a pack group formed therefrom are made in the correspondingly dimensioned packing chamber completely and completely encased. Nevertheless, the pack has external dimensions that correspond to conventional packs for cigarette packs. These standard external dimensions are desirable for a variety of reasons. The handling, namely transport and storage, are set up for these standard dimensions. Furthermore, frequently used machines for the subsequent application of markings, in particular tax stamps, are set up on the small packs to the predetermined standard size of the packs. The design of the compensation chamber below the bottom wall enables a simple cut shape for the production of the packaging. Nevertheless, various cut designs are suitable for this.

The container pack according to the invention is manufactured from a one-piece blank with side walls which are continuous over the full height and a bottom wall which is set back inwards in relation to free or lower edge edges. An easy-to-use pack closure is formed on the opposite side.

In the drawings, details of a pack are shown, which are made from a one-piece blank according to FIG. 3 from thin cardboard. The elongated, cuboid pack is used to hold small packs, namely cigarette packs 10. The total content of the pack is one pack group 11 of ten cigarette packs 10. In the present exemplary embodiment, these are aligned in two rows within an interior of the pack, namely in a packing chamber 12 housed. The small packs, namely cigarette packs 10, are also cuboid in shape and are preferably hinged boxes (hinge-lid packs) made of thin cardboard. Each cigarette pack 10 is delimited by two mutually opposite large areas, namely the front 13 and the back 14. With these areas 13 and 14, the cigarette packs 10 of the pack group 11 lie against one another. Upright narrow side surfaces 15 are also adjacent to one another. Up and down, the cigarette packs 10 form small end surfaces 16 and bottom surfaces 17.

The container pack forms elongated, large-area walls, namely front wall 18 and rear wall 19. These extend over the full length and over the full height of the container pack. At the top is an upper wall 20 formed, which on the one hand consists of an inner edge tab 21 and on the other hand consists of a cover tab 22 extending over the full width and length of the top wall 20. The edge tab 21 is connected to the free side of the rear wall 19 and the cover tab 22 opposite to the free edge of the front wall 18 within the blank. Edge tabs 21 and cover tabs 22 form a closure of the pack, which can be easily opened and closed again. This handling is important when 10 markings have to be added to the cigarette packs, in particular tax stamps. In this case, the packs are subsequently opened again by lifting cover flaps 22 and edge flaps 21. The facing end faces 16 of the cigarette packs 10 are thus exposed and can be provided with markings within a special machine. The pack is then closed again by bringing the edge tabs 21 and cover tabs 22 into the closed position according to FIGS. 1 and 2 and gluing them together or fixing them in the closed position in some other way.

The volume of the packing chamber 12 corresponds approximately to the volume of the packing group 11. At the bottom or on the side opposite the upper wall 20, the packing chamber 12 is delimited by a bottom wall 23. This is set back inwards with respect to the lower contour of the pack or with respect to a lower edge 24, 25 of the front wall 18 on the one hand and the rear wall 19 on the other hand. The distance between the bottom wall 23 and the edge edges 24, 25 corresponds to the shorter length or height of the cigarette packs 10 compared to conventional standard designs. The total height of the pack or of the front wall 18 and rear wall 19 can correspond, for example, to approximately 80 mm, while the height of the cigarette packs 10 is approximately 60 mm in the example shown. The bottom wall 23 is accordingly set back by about 20 mm with respect to the edge edges 24, 25.

In the present exemplary embodiment, this is below, namely on the side opposite the bottom wall 23, and extends over the entire surface of the Bottom wall 23.

The compensation chamber 26 is bounded all around by an edge or attachment which is double-walled. On the long sides, the outer edge consists of the front wall 18 and rear wall 19, respectively. These are connected to the bottom wall 23 via connecting strips 27, 28. The connecting strips 27, 28 extend from the lower edge edges 24, 25 to the bottom wall 23. They can be connected to the front wall 18 or rear wall 19, for. B. by gluing.

Stirnwände 29, 30 der Gebindepackung sind ebenfalls in besonderer Weise ausgebildet, erstrecken sich jedenfalls über die gesamte Höhe der Gebindepackung, einschließlich der Ausgleichskammer 26.End walls 29, 30 of the pack are also designed in a special way, in any case extend over the entire height of the pack, including the compensation chamber 26.

The end walls 29, 30 each consist of several folding tabs. On the one hand, there is a trapezoidal end tab 31, which is connected to the front wall 18. Furthermore, it is a likewise trapezoidal inner tab 32 in the area of the bottom wall 23 and finally an outer tab 33 on the rear wall 19. The outer tab 33 is dimensioned such that the end walls 29, 30 are covered over the entire surface of the outside, while end tabs 31 and inner tabs 32 face the inside of the pack without mutual overlap and have a smaller area than that of the end walls 29, 30.

The end flap 31 is connected to the inside of the end wall 29, 30 or the outer flap 33 in the finished pack, z. B. by gluing. The end tab 31 extends over the full height of the pack or the end wall 29, 30, that is to say also in the region of the compensation chamber 26. Here, a triangular gusset 34 of the end tab 31 together with the outer tab 33 forms a double-walled boundary of the compensation chamber 26.

The inner tab 32 extends exclusively in the area of the equalizing chamber 26, namely adjacent to the gusset 34. The inner tab 32 together with the outer tab 33 also forms a double-walled boundary of the equalizing chamber 26 in the area of the end walls 29, 30. The folding tabs mentioned are expediently formed by Bonded together.

Opposing oblique edges 35 and 36 for delimiting the end flap 31 on the one hand and the inner flap 32 on the other hand are attached with different inclinations such that the respective oblique edges 35, 36 delimit a diverging gap 37 in the finished pack. This geometric design of the end flaps 31 and inner flaps 32 ensures that an overlap of the folding flaps mentioned is avoided even with small dimensional tolerances. The smaller angle of the oblique edge 36, which is outside of the blank according to FIG. 3, is for example 40 °. The angular position of the inclined edge 35 is adapted accordingly.

Another embodiment can be seen in FIGS. 4 to 8. As far as the parts have the same shape and function as in the previously described embodiment, the same reference numerals are given. The cut according to FIG. 8 differs from the cut shown in FIG. 3 only in the design of the end tabs and inner tabs. These are designated 31a and 32a, respectively. The end lobes 31a are of the same size as the outer lobes 33 and extend all over the end wall 29 and 30, respectively. The inner lobes 32a extend in the longitudinal direction of the bottom wall 23 as far as the adjacent end lobes 31a and outer lobes 33. Overall, the outer contour of the blank according to FIG. 8 almost rectangular. This makes cutting out the blank from a full-surface use particularly easy. The amount of waste is small. The rectangular shape of the tabs 31a, 32a, 33 enables a simple shape of corresponding punching tools.

In the fully folded container pack, the inner tabs 32a bear upward against the inside of the end tabs 31a. The outer tabs 33 are correspondingly on the outside, that is to say on the other side of the end tabs 31a. The inner tabs 32a do not reach all the way up to the top wall 20 when the pack is fully folded. The end walls 29, 30 are thus formed in three layers in the area of the inner tabs 32a and in two areas in adjacent areas. In particular, the end walls 29, 30 between the connecting strips 27, 28 have only two layers. The arrangement and alignment of the tabs 31a, 32a and 33 can be seen particularly well with reference to FIGS. 6 and 7. The walls delimiting the compensation chamber 26 are only two layers. Analogously to the embodiment of FIGS. 1 to 3, the tabs 31a, 32a and 33 are also preferably glued to one another.
