Abstract

Method of emptying a refuse-collecting container by air evacuation, the container (1) being connected via a first valve (4) to a refuse feed line (3), for example in the form of a refuse shaft arranged in a multi-family dwelling. The refuse-collecting container can be connected via a second, valve-controlled aperture in the base of the container to a refuse removal line (5), which for its part can be connected to a collecting chamber located in a refuse vehicle, it being possible for the latter chamber to be made empty of air in order to achieve a necessary suction effect. The interior of the container can be connected to atmospheric air by at least one valve-controlled aperture (8, 9). On emptying the container, the first valve is kept open during a first evacuation stage. In a second evacuation stage, after at least a partial vacuum has been achieved in the container, atmospheric air is introduced below the refuse bags which have collected in the collecting zone in the container, and in a third evacuation stage a further stream of atmospheric air is introduced into the interior of the container above the refuse collecting zone. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a method for emptying a refuse collection container by air evacuation, the refuse collection container being connected via a first valve to a refuse supply line, for example in the form of a refuse shaft arranged in a multi-family house, and the refuse collection container being connected to one via a second valve-controlled opening in the bottom of the container Waste removal line and this in turn can be connected to a mobile waste collection chamber, the air volume of which can be evacuated for the purpose of achieving a necessary suction effect, and the interior of the container can be connected to the atmospheric air via at least one valve-controlled opening.

Such a waste collection container for emptying by means of vacuum is known from EP 84 850 111-0.

However, the method used to empty this known waste collection container is open to criticism and has a number of disadvantages.

Since the emptying of the garbage collection container is controlled by a garbage collection vehicle outside the garbage room, it must be possible to ensure that the system is completely emptied, so that after the emptying phase has ended, trouble-free functioning of the garbage collection container can be guaranteed. Since emptying of the waste collection container is usually determined at predetermined time intervals - usually once a week - it happens that the collection container is filled faster than calculated and that the waste bags mostly used here accumulate and accumulate above the feed valve in the lower part of the waste shaft cause a blockage of the lower part of the shaft.

In the above EP patent it is prescribed that the connection of the waste collection container to the supply line, i.e. to the garbage chute during the emptying process should be completely closed - this measure is necessary according to this known state of the art to eliminate any damage to people who use the garbage chute while emptying the garbage collection container.

Since an inspection of the lower part of the shaft, i.e. the part of the shaft that lies above the first valve of the refuse collection container, cannot be carried out after the emptying phase of the collection container has been completed for the reasons mentioned above, any blockage of the shaft cannot be determined - which naturally leads to considerable malfunctions in the further use of the waste collection container arise.

In addition, this known emptying method proposes a current supply of atmospheric air into the air-emptied waste collection container, a measure which leads to considerable material impacts and also to noise impacts which propagate throughout the system.

In addition, it has been shown that the supplied atmospheric air flow in the known device must not only be directed against the bottom layer of the garbage collected in the container - such an air flow largely results in only turbulence of the garbage bags in the container, whereas the desired emptying of the garbage bags by the extraction line is not reached.

If the atmospheric air flow is now only supplied via an opening in the upper part of the container, the desired emptying aid for the garbage bags on the container bottom cannot be reached.

The object of the method proposed according to the invention is now to eliminate the above disadvantages of the previously known technology when emptying such a refuse collection container and to create an emptying process which ensures optimal emptying of the refuse collection container under acceptable material stresses and also results in trouble-free reuse of the refuse collection container in that If necessary, existing blockages in the lower part of the shaft when emptying the refuse collection container can be effectively removed and also the refuse bags located here can be sucked into the refuse collection container during emptying.

A further object of the method proposed according to the invention is to create an optimal emptying of the refuse collection container by the control of the atmospheric air proposed according to the invention.

In a method of the generic type, this task is mainly achieved by the following evacuation stages after connecting the waste collection container to the mobile collection chamber:
  • a) that the first valve is kept open during a first evacuation stage,
  • b) that atmospheric air is introduced under the garbage bags collected in the container during a second evacuation stage after at least a partial vacuum has been achieved in the container,
  • c) that in a third evacuation stage, a further stream of atmospheric air is introduced to the interior of the container at a level above the refuse collection area.

The fact that the first valve is open at the start of emptying has the effect that any garbage located above the first valve in the refuse shaft is drawn into the container.

Introducing a first stream of atmospheric air into the container through a valve-controlled opening in the bottom of the container, i.e. under the garbage collection part of the container, there is a lifting and turbulence of the garbage bags, and an approximately simultaneous supply of a second atmospheric air flow to the inside of the container and above the garbage collection zone results in an optimal emptying of the garbage.

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the first valve can be opened and repeatedly closed and opened during the first evacuation stage, so that all the garbage bags located above the valve in the refuse shaft are safely sucked into the container.

According to another embodiment of the invention, the first valve can be closed after the first evacuation stage during the initial air evacuation of the container.

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, an atmospheric air flow can be introduced into the container during the entire emptying process - this prevents undesirable material stresses and also the occurrence of sound impacts that occur when the atmosphere is supplied at a moment when the container is empty. This air supply can be gradually increased even while a vacuum is being built up in the container.

This continuous supply of atmospheric air to the interior of the container can be achieved by opening the first valve somewhat during the entire emptying process.

According to an alternative embodiment, a further atmospheric air stream can be introduced into the container during the third evacuation phase, namely by the first valve being open and / or by further air being supplied via an in the upper part of the container, i.e. above the waste collection zone, existing valve-controlled opening is fed.

The invention is explained in more detail below with the aid of an exemplary embodiment illustrated in the accompanying drawing.

The garbage collection container shown in the drawing in its basic structure is generally designated 1 and is preferably arranged in an existing garbage collection room of an apartment building. The refuse container is connected via an opening 2 to a refuse shaft 3, the opening being regulated by a valve 4.

A waste removal line 5 is provided in the bottom of the container and is connected via a valve 6 to a collecting chamber of a refuse vehicle, not shown. This collecting chamber can be made empty of air in a known manner, so that the necessary suction effect for emptying the waste collecting container 1 is achieved. Under the garbage collection zone 7 in the container, a valve-controlled opening 8 is provided in the bottom of the container for the inlet of an atmospheric air flow below the accumulated garbage bags and finally there is optionally a further valve-controlled opening 9 in the upper part of the container Container intended for the introduction of a secondary air flow above the waste collection zone 7.

Das erfindungsgemäss vorgeschlagene Verfahren zur Entleerung des Behälters umfasst folgende Stufen:The method according to the invention for emptying the container comprises the following stages:

In a first evacuation stage, valves 4 and 6 are open. This ensures that garbage bags located in the shaft 3 above the valve 4 are sucked into the container 1. In order to achieve guaranteed release of the lower part of the shaft 3 of jammed garbage bags, the valve can be closed and opened repeatedly. Then this valve is expediently first closed, and after a vacuum has been built up inside the container 1, the bottom valve 8 is opened, as a result of which atmospheric air is introduced into the container 1 under the accumulated garbage bags. The garbage bags are lifted from the bottom of the container 1 and set in a certain turbulence in the container.

In order to achieve a quick and maximum emptying of these garbage bags, either the valve 4 or the valve 9 is then opened, so that a secondary air flow is introduced into the container, which safely transports the garbage bags to the removal line 5.

According to an alternative embodiment of the invention, the valve 4 or the atmospheric air inlet 8 can be slightly open during the entire emptying process. This eliminates a momentary supply of atmospheric air to the interior of the container, and this prevents excessive stress on the material and also noise.

The above-mentioned valve functions are appropriately automatically controlled by the garbage truck after a necessary one Docking has been done with the sampling line. After the emptying process has ended, all valves except the waste inlet valve are closed.

However, the invention is not limited to the embodiment shown in the drawing, but can be varied in various ways within the scope of the following claims.
