Definitions
- the invention relates to a closure for wine bottles according to the preamble of claim 1.
- the wine bottle closure in this way traditionally represents the distinguishing feature for wines of a high quality, the serving with this equipment on festive occasions as well as in more demanding catering establishments is therefore a natural expectation of the guest, which must not be neglected either in the private or in the professional area.
- the main disadvantage of this equipment is the fact that the sleeve consists of a ductile metal, usually a lead alloy, which causes considerable problems in the disposal of the bottles.
- the known conventional closure causes a considerable effort in the cellar in that after the bottle has been filled, the cork and then the sleeve must first be applied in separate operations.
- the present invention is accordingly an object of the creation a bottle stopper that meets the decorative expectations of the consumer and causes a reduced disposal effort during disposal.
- the invention provides a wine bottle stopper which avoids the use of metallic material, meets all optical requirements for a bottle stopper for high quality wines and furthermore has the further advantage that it can be delivered to the winery or bottler in one unit , so the handling when closing the bottles is considerably simplified by omitting one operation.
- Another remarkable advantage is the fact that the closure part itself can also be made of a synthetic material.
- the sealing plug 3 is provided with an overlapping flange 5, which is pressed into the bottle neck 1 on its upper edge, and is held in a sleeve 4 made of a non-metallic material, for example plastic, which encompasses the flange 5 and in this way the sealing plug is provided as a uniform part holding annular bead 6.
- the flange 5 is designed as a reinforced cap 4a, which surrounds the bottle neck in the region between the pouring edge and the bead 2 and is made in one piece with the remaining part of the sleeve.
- the sleeve 4 is provided with a further annular bead 8, which engages under the bead 2 and is designed as a sharp-edged catch, which supports the holding forces caused by the pressed-in stopper 3 and thus ensures a secure mounting of the unit on the bottle.
- annular bead 8 bead segments can also be provided.
- the sealing plug can in principle consist of any material, but is expediently produced as a hollow plug from a likewise synthetic material, advantageously plastic, which on the one hand has sufficient flexibility to overcome the narrowing formed by the annular bead 6 when it is introduced into the sleeve and even sufficient sealing properties if necessary owns and, as a special advantage, leaves a wide scope for the design required for technical or optical reasons.
- the sealing plug can be designed as a closed hollow body or as an inward opening with a smooth or corrugated outer surface. Through the opening inwards, a substantial reduction in the displacement volume when inserting the stopper into the bottle and thus the build-up of an internal pressure preventing the introduction of the cork into the bottle is avoided.
- it is designed as a stopper made of transparent plastic which is open to the outside, ie on the side directed against the cap, and is provided with an inner body 9 which completely or partially fills the cavity and which has the appearance of a natural cork has or serves as an information carrier in the manner of the cork fire common with natural corks.
- the sleeve is provided with a tear-open tab, which either - tab 10 in Fig. 1 - extend from the lower edge to the area of the upper annular bead 6 or - tab 11 in Fig. 3 - from the lower sleeve edge to the area the bottle bead 2 and from there can run around the sleeve.
- FIGS. 1 and 2 in which the parts corresponding to one another are provided with the same reference numerals as in FIGS. 1 and 2, another embodiment of the closure according to the invention for a bottle is shown, which in the between the bead 2 and Area 13 of the bottle edge is provided with a thread.
- the sleeve 4 has a counter thread 14 instead of an inner annular bead, as a result of which the holding forces of the closure can be increased further.
- this embodiment is a hollow plug which is open inwards and has a flange 15 which only slightly exceeds the outer contour, the ring bead 16 surrounding it simultaneously forming a shoulder for inserting a sealing ring 17.
- a cap-like reinforcement of the sleeve in the upper area is not provided in the case of this embodiment.
Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a closure for wine bottles according to the preamble of
It is customary to close wine bottles with a natural cork pressed into the bottle neck and an essentially decorative sleeve which encloses the bottle neck at at least one height corresponding to the depth of penetration of the stopper. The wine bottle closure in this way traditionally represents the distinguishing feature for wines of a high quality, the serving with this equipment on festive occasions as well as in more demanding catering establishments is therefore a natural expectation of the guest, which must not be neglected either in the private or in the professional area. The main disadvantage of this equipment is the fact that the sleeve consists of a ductile metal, usually a lead alloy, which causes considerable problems in the disposal of the bottles. In addition, the known conventional closure causes a considerable effort in the cellar in that after the bottle has been filled, the cork and then the sleeve must first be applied in separate operations.
The present invention is accordingly an object of the creation a bottle stopper that meets the decorative expectations of the consumer and causes a reduced disposal effort during disposal.
This object is achieved by a bottle stopper with the features set out in
The invention provides a wine bottle stopper which avoids the use of metallic material, meets all optical requirements for a bottle stopper for high quality wines and furthermore has the further advantage that it can be delivered to the winery or bottler in one unit , so the handling when closing the bottles is considerably simplified by omitting one operation. Another remarkable advantage is the fact that the closure part itself can also be made of a synthetic material.

The
The
The sealing plug can in principle consist of any material, but is expediently produced as a hollow plug from a likewise synthetic material, advantageously plastic, which on the one hand has sufficient flexibility to overcome the narrowing formed by the
For example, the sealing plug can be designed as a closed hollow body or as an inward opening with a smooth or corrugated outer surface. Through the opening inwards, a substantial reduction in the displacement volume when inserting the stopper into the bottle and thus the build-up of an internal pressure preventing the introduction of the cork into the bottle is avoided. In the case of the embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, it is designed as a stopper made of transparent plastic which is open to the outside, ie on the side directed against the cap, and is provided with an
For easier opening, the sleeve is provided with a tear-open tab, which either -
Eine kappenartige Verstärkung der Hülse im oberen Bereich ist im Falle dieser Ausführungsform nicht vorgesehen.3 and 4, in which the parts corresponding to one another are provided with the same reference numerals as in FIGS. 1 and 2, another embodiment of the closure according to the invention for a bottle is shown, which in the between the
