Abstract

The invention relates to a method for monitoring and controlling the programme flow of a domestic appliance, the measurement data determined by measured-value transmitters being evaluated by electronics for the purpose of influencing the programme flow. To simplify and improve this method, it is proposed that the measurement data be recorded, in each case, only during one or more segments limited in time within a programme process, and that, during such a time segment, in each case only the rate of change of the data supplied by the measured-value transmitters is recorded and evaluated. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a method for monitoring and controlling the program sequence of a household appliance, e.g. a washing machine, the measurement data determined by sensors being evaluated by electronics in order to influence the program sequence.

Such a method is e.g. made known from DE-OS 39 04 222. This is a method for controlling washing programs running in a washing machine with control electronics, the specific electrical conductivity of the water entering the washing machine and the specific electrical conductivity of the water running out of the washing machine being measured by means of temperature-compensated flow measuring cells arranged in the flow path are, the differential conductivity measured value is calculated from the determined measured conductivity values, including the temperature compensation values for the incoming and outgoing water, and this differential conductivity measured value is supplied to the control electronics as an electrical signal influencing the washing program sequence.

It is provided that the measuring device is activated for a limited period of time at the end of each rinse cycle, which is characterized by moving the drum and then pumping off the washing liquor, and that to end the program, the program control device for overriding the program steps until pumping out before last rinse is set.

In principle, the known types are based on the fact that changes in certain parameters are measured there by means of a target / actual comparison and that the washing program is influenced accordingly on the basis of these changes. The cleaning and / or rinsing processes can be qualified and thus also optimized in their sequence by changing the physical parameters describing them over time. However, the realization of such optimizations by measuring pH, conductance, turbidity or the like is prevented to a considerable extent by the fact that the measured values can easily be influenced and falsified by changing measuring conditions, without this being preventable in many cases. Such changing measuring conditions are e.g. Temperature fluctuations, different cleaning agent properties, etc. Furthermore, the measured values can be falsified in that the sensor used changes due to contamination, aging or the like.

In principle, the disadvantages and problems mentioned can be mastered, for example, by means of compensation circuits or calibration point measurements. However, this leads to very complex and therefore expensive designs.

The invention has for its object to simplify and improve a method of the type mentioned.

This object is achieved according to the invention in that, with such a method, the measurement data are only acquired during one or more time-limited sections within a program process, and during such a time section only the rate of change of the data supplied by the measurement sensors is recorded and evaluated . Cleaning and / or rinsing processes in a given and thus determined household appliance correspond to a pattern given by the device properties. It is therefore not at all necessary to carry out the entire process or e.g. to know or measure its end point or the distance of the end point from the start point. Rather, it is sufficient to assess the overall process, to define one or more sections. It is also absolutely sufficient to change the rate of change of the measurement data of a sensor, e.g. measure its voltage and / or current change behavior in order to define the process state. This means that during a partial section of a certain process only the rate of change of a measured value, e.g. the voltage or the current is measured.

In order to increase the reliability of the measurement process, it is provided in an embodiment of the invention that the measurement data are acquired during two sections of a process, one section of which is placed at the beginning and the other section approximately in the middle of the process being carried out. It has been found that in many cases two such measurements are sufficient to measure the optimally adapt the running process to the existing conditions.

In the drawing, the process is schematically explained using a diagram.

On the ordinate e.g. the measured values are plotted in accordance with a pH value, a conductivity in mS, a turbidity factor or value (TF) or a temperature (ϑ) as a function of time. The diagram shows e.g. the typical course of a rinsing process. This can e.g. can be shortened or lengthened depending on the measured rate of change of the associated sensor output. The diagram shows that only the individual rinsing process is controlled and thus also optimized and thus adapted to the real conditions.

When the rinsing process of this type is explained, it can be seen that the rinsing time is a further parameter for determining subsequent rinsing processes, since the rinsing time is a measure of the degree of contamination of the items to be rinsed. Takes e.g. the first rinse is long, there is a high degree of contamination and the subsequent rinses can be adjusted accordingly. This adjustment can e.g. by a larger amount of water per wash cycle or by one or more additional wash cycles. Accordingly, a reversal is also possible with a low level of contamination, which then saves time and water.
