Das Drehmoment des Antriebszahnrads 23 wird über den Zahnkranz 22 der an die neutrale Walzebene E heranreichenden Profilwalze auf den Zahnkranz 22 der gegenüberliegenden Profilwalze übertragen, wodurch beide im Eingriff befindlichen Profilwalzen eine auf den effektiven Profilwalzenradius R bezogene, identische Umfangsgeschwindigkeit bei jeweils gleichbleibendem Drehwinkel erhalten. Der effektive Profilwalzenradius R ist dabei durch den kürzesten Abstand zwischen den Profilwalzen-Achsen 20 und der neutralen Walzebene E gegeben.
