Abstract

The keg safety closure (1) proposed is designed to protect and secure the outlet port of a pressurized-liquid container. Fitted to the inside of the side wall (1.2) of the closure are wedge elements (1.3), located a certain distance away from the closure cover (1.1), which snap into the outer rim of the outlet port. The wedge elements are disposed at intervals, and not continuously, round the side wall, and are partly connected to the closure by means of zones (1.4) of lower tear strength.

Description

Diese Erfindung betrifft eine Sicherheits-Kegverschlusskappe.This invention relates to a safety keg cap.

Liquids, especially beverages, are currently transported and stored under pressure in kegs. The container is installed at the distribution point and connected to the distribution device. When the beverage is distributed, it is expelled from the container under pressure.

The container has an outlet, to which - without loss of pressure - the distribution device is to be connected; the outlet must therefore be protected during transport and storage of the pressure vessel.

Due to general safety considerations, this protection should include, in addition to protection against damage to the outlet, both the first opening guarantee and the possibility of putting the protective closure back on. This object is achieved by the safety keg closure cap according to the invention.

Closures of a similar type are also known from the patent literature:
The container closure according to US Pat. No. 4,423,822 is basically a liquid-tight and possibly also a pressure-proof closure. It has a handle and in all embodiments Opening flap open; this is folded out of the closure for detachment (see figure), and the same is detached from the container by lifting on the flap.

In contrast, the safety keg closure cap according to the invention is a protective cap (over a mechanical, tight pressure closure), which in any case indicates the first opening of the said pressure closure (the flap in the US patent can be closed again). For this purpose, the safety keg closure cap has four or eight wedge parts 1.3 arranged symmetrically and offset from one another, of which alternately two or four are connected to the closure cylinder 1.2 alternately by means of tear strength 1.4 which is reduced over zones, i.e. are relatively easily at least partially separable therefrom.

As mentioned, only one flap is provided for the closure according to the cited US patent, and the number and / or arrangement of the grip wedges and their assignment to the flap are all not specifically specified. In the drawings (especially Fig. 4), much more underlap formations are attached to the fixed lid than to the flap.

When opening the two or the four tear-open wedge parts 1.4 on the safety keg closure cap according to the invention, the closure cylinder is also cut through at two to four regularly distributed locations with sufficient strength that it can be removed relatively easily from the container and placed on it again. With the closure according to the US patent dealt with here, this happens only at one point.

With the likewise liquid-tight container closure according to GB-A 2 097 768, when it is opened for the first time, the single tear-off tab 18 is torn open along the predetermined tear lines 22 and 24 all the way around the closure jacket and along the continued predetermined tear lines 26 and 28 around the periphery of the closure cover (see FIGS. 1 and 2).

By tearing open the tab 18 and tearing off the cover part 10, the closure falls apart (without disintegrating into several parts); it cannot then be reused (p. 1, lines 98 ff).

In the closure caps according to DE-U 84 14 651, when the blocking elements are torn open, all of them are obviously torn off (FIG. 1) or the cap is separated into two parts (FIG. 2). Retaining elements such as the undetached wedge parts when the inventive keg closure cap is open are no longer present.

In contrast to the stated solutions according to the state of the art, the safety keg closure cap according to the invention - also not readily foreseeable by the person skilled in the art -
  • without tear-off tabs and thus without material loss when opening for the first time, and
  • in a technically highly simplified form all three requirements, ie those for mechanical protection of the outlet, those for the first opening guarantee and those for reuse,
to suffice.

A solution without separating the closure parts is also obviously more ecological, especially since the remelting of molded parts made of polyolefins is a technically solved problem.

The safety keg closure cap according to the invention for on liquid pressure containers, the closure cap with the closure cover and the closure cylinder and with wedge parts which are attached to the inside wall of the closure cylinder and are arranged at a distance from the closure cover and snap into the upper edge of the container is characterized in that four or eight symmetrically arranged wedge parts are provided, of which two or four are alternately connected to the closure via zones with reduced tensile strength (1.4), the zones mentioned starting from the lower edge of the closure cylinder.

Said zones with reduced tear strength are preferably designed in the form of webs / cavities between the wedge parts and the locking cylinder, each web being reinforced, as a result of which, when the said zones are torn open, the wedge part does not completely detach from the closure.

The wedge portions advantageously include a circular arc angle of the locking cylinder of approximately 20 ° or approximately 40 °.

The safety keg closure cap mentioned consists of pressure-sprayable elastomers, especially polyolefins, preferably polyethylene or polypropylene.

  • Fig. 1a: Schnittdarstellung der erfindungsgemässen Sicherheits-Kegverschlusskappe gemäss dem Patentanspruch 3 (Schnitt durch Achse);
  • Fig. 1b: Oben- und Durchsichtsdarstellung der gleichen Sicherheits-Kegverschlusskappe;
  • Fig. 1c: An- und Durchsichtsdarstellung derselben Sicherheits-Kegverschlusskappe;
  • Fig. 2: Schnittdarstellung (schematisch) des Austritts-Halses eines Flüssigkeits-Druckbehälters.
The safety keg closure cap according to the invention will now be described in detail using the embodiment according to the attached FIGS. 1 and 2. The figures represent the following:
  • Fig. 1a: sectional view of the safety keg closure cap according to the invention according to claim 3 (section through axis);
  • 1b: top and see-through representation of the same safety keg closure cap;
  • 1c: View and see-through representation of the same safety keg closure cap;
  • Fig. 2: sectional view (schematic) of the outlet neck of a liquid pressure vessel.

As said, FIG. 1a shows a schematic illustration in section through the axis of the safety keg closure cap according to the invention with four wedge sections; the proportions do not correspond to the actual ones. The closing cylinder 1.2 connects to the closing cover 1.1. The wedge parts 1.3 are attached to the inside of the lock cylinder, offset from the cover. The wedges are designed so that they snap under the final thickening of the neck around the container outlet.

In the top and see-through representation according to FIG. 1b, the locking cylinder 1.2 and the four wedge parts 1.3 can be seen.

In Figure 1c, i.e. in the view and see-through representation of the entire safety keg closure cap according to claim 3, the closure cylinder 1.2 and two wedge parts 1.3 are again visible (the other two wedge parts are not shown). A zone of reduced tensile strength 1.4 is shown around the wedge part shown on the right in the figure. This can e.g. by means of webs / cavities or also by means of reduced wall thickness. In both cases, however, it would be important to ensure that at least at one point in the zone of reduced tensile strength, a web, or a section of the connecting wall, has the usual thickness, so that the wedge part, after tearing open the zone of reduced tensile strength, is also present at the point mentioned remains connected to the closure. Even after the safety keg closure according to the invention has been opened for the first time, it therefore remains in one piece. The zones of reduced tensile strength evidently start from the lower edge of the locking cylinder.

Finally, FIG. 2 shows a schematic section through the longitudinal axis of the outlet neck 2 on the liquid pressure container. 2.1 denotes the actual neck of the container and 2.2 denotes a neck wedge reinforced all around. The above-mentioned end does not need to be specifically wedge-shaped, it can also be semicircular or the like. be. In any case, such degrees are like this trained that the closure cap by means of wedge parts or the like. can be anchored underneath.

From the illustration mentioned it also follows that the safety keg closure cap according to the invention after the first opening, i.e. after the zones have been torn open, it can be applied again to the outlet neck of the liquid pressure vessel, where it continues to have a covering function and protection against mechanical influences on the pressure connection part.

The above-described keg closure cap according to the invention can of course be modified within the scope of technical optimization without falling outside the scope of the patent. E.g. the wedge part can be realized in the form of individual small wedges (material saving).
