Abstract

The invention relates to a climbing and braking support (1) for skiers, having a baseplate for mounting on top of the ski and a pivot bearing (2) arranged thereon in which two unilateral pivot levers (3) are pivotably mounted so as to be lockable in a pivoted position. It also has a double-sided lever (6) arranged in a second pivot bearing on the baseplate so as to be pivotable. One free end of this lever is capable of engagement with a locking lug (10) in a locking notch (19). Both levers have spring elements to restore them in active connection. In order to achieve a strong design and to eliminate the risk of injury, it is proposed that the two one-sided pivot levers be fixedly connected to each other via at least one intermediate piece (7) which has a flat surface on an upper side, at least one intermediate piece having a locking notch (19) for the locking lug and at least one intermediate piece (7) having a stop surface for bearing on the baseplate (21) in the initial position of the one-sided pivot lever, the two-sided pivot lever having a further flat surface (8) on one upper side. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a climbing and braking aid for skis, with a base plate for top mounting on a ski and a swivel bearing arranged thereon, in which two one-sided swivel levers are pivotally mounted and can be locked in a swivel position, and with one on the base plate in a further swivel bearing pivotably arranged two-sided lever, one free end of which can be latched into a latching notch with a latching lug, both levers being operatively connected to spring elements for their resetting.

A climbing and braking aid for skis of the type described in the introduction has become known from US Pat. No. 3,724,867. With this climbing and braking aid, the two one-sided swivel levers can be folded down by a rod-shaped lever element connected to them, which is perpendicular to the ski in the starting position, by pressure on the depression located at the free end of the lever element or by flipping the lever element, with one special mechanism, the one-sided levers are first moved sideways and then folded over the outer edges of the ski. In this position, the two-sided lever engages with its latching lug in the latching notch of the lever element and thus fixes the two one-sided pivot levers in a braking or climbing position. In order to fold the two one-sided swivel levers back into the starting position, pressure must first be exerted on the lever element in order to relieve the latching lug, whereby at the same time the latching lug is led out of the latching notch by pressure on the end of the two-sided lever opposite the latching lug or on the depression located here can be and thus the two-sided swivel lever and the two-sided Lever are brought into the starting position by the spring elements. The special mechanism takes care of bringing together the two single-sided swivel levers above the ski.

Since the known climbing and braking aid can generally only be operated with the help of the ski poles, the rod-shaped lever element, which is approximately perpendicular to the ski and has a relatively small depression as a contact surface for the ski pole, is very impractical and therefore difficult to operate. In addition, the lever element that is perpendicular to the ski and the one-sided lever that stands up in the starting position mean an increased risk of injury to the skier in the event of a skiing accident. Furthermore, it is very disadvantageous that both ski poles must be used simultaneously to operate the climbing and braking aid to reset the one-sided swivel lever. B. on a slope, a safe position of the skier is no longer guaranteed. Another disadvantage is that the spring element for resetting the two-sided lever is attached under the recess of the two-sided lever between the top of the ski and the underside of the two-sided lever. As a result, z. B. when removing snow or ice or which has settled between the two-sided lever and the ski and thereby interferes with the function of the two-sided lever, the spring element is damaged or torn out. A further disadvantage is the direct mounting of the spring element on the ski, since this means that an additional hole has to be drilled in the ski. Because the known climbing and braking aid consists of a large number of individual parts, it is expensive to manufacture and, moreover, very susceptible to maintenance and repairs.

Starting from this prior art, the object of the invention to propose a climbing and braking aid for skis that is easy to use and minimizes the risk of injury in the event of an accident, is inexpensive to manufacture and, furthermore, is robust and easy to maintain. This object is achieved on the basis of a climbing and braking aid for skis of the type described in the introduction in that the two one-sided pivot levers are firmly connected to one another via at least one intermediate piece, which has a flat surface on an upper side, at least one intermediate piece having a notch for the locking lug and at least one intermediate piece has a stop surface for bearing against the base plate in the starting position of the one-sided pivot levers, the two-sided lever having a further flat surface on an upper side. Such a climbing and braking aid can be inexpensively manufactured from very few parts. It is also robust and very easy to maintain. Furthermore, the flat design minimizes the risk of injury in the event of an accident.

An embodiment of the invention provides that the two one-sided swivel levers are designed with at least one intermediate piece as a structural unit. This not only reduces the number of components of the climbing and braking aid, but also improves the stability.

According to a further embodiment of the invention, it is proposed that the intermediate piece, offset from the direction of travel, have a pressure trough on its upper side for the pivot bearing. The ski pole can be attached very easily with its seats for folding down the one-sided swivel levers.

Again according to an embodiment of the invention it is proposed that the two-sided lever offset in the direction of travel for further pivoting on its upper side has a further pressure trough. This can also a ski pole, for resetting the climbing and braking aid, can be very easily attached to the two-sided lever.

In addition, it is proposed according to an embodiment of the invention that the intermediate piece has at least one further notch. This makes it possible to choose a suitable depth of attack for the one-sided swivel lever depending on the snow conditions and slope.

Furthermore, it is proposed according to an embodiment of the invention that the latching lug has a contact surface and each latching notch has a latching surface which abuts one another in the latching position, the bearing angle of which is approximately perpendicular to a straight line which is defined by an axis of the further pivot bearing and by a lower tip of the Latch runs, corresponds. The system angle selected in this way enables the one-sided swivel lever to be securely locked into place. In addition, the locking lug can be released from the locking notch by simply pressing on the pressure trough of the two-sided pivoting lever, as a result of which the one-sided pivoting levers are returned to the starting position via the spring elements.

Another embodiment of the invention proposes that the two one-sided pivot levers each have at their free ends a region curved toward the direction of travel. This allows the one-sided swivel levers to grip similar to claws in snow or ice.

Furthermore, it is proposed according to an embodiment of the invention that the two one-sided swivel levers have transverse teeth in their curved regions at least to the direction of travel. This improves the grip of the one-sided pivot levers in their curved areas when arranged as a brake.

Furthermore, it is proposed according to an embodiment of the invention that the base plate is in one piece. This also reduces the number of components of the climbing and braking aid and increases stability. Furthermore, an embodiment of the invention proposes that the two-sided lever for resetting has a spiral spring arranged on the further pivot bearing. As a result, snow or ice, which has settled between the base plate and the part of the double-sided pivoting lever facing away from the locking lug and thereby interferes with the function of the double-sided pivoting lever, can be easily removed without damaging the coil spring. Furthermore, an additional hole on the ski can be omitted.

Furthermore, it is proposed according to an embodiment of the invention that the two one-sided levers are arranged such that at least the curved regions are arranged in the starting position with a small distance above an upper edge of the ski. This ensures that the two one-sided swivel levers do not interfere with sliding of the ski in the starting position.

Finally, it is proposed according to one embodiment of the invention that the latching lug of the two-sided lever has a flat underside which rests on the flat surface of the intermediate piece in the starting position. As a result, the two-sided lever can be built very flat and placed on the intermediate piece, which also reduces the risk of injury in the event of an accident.

The invention will now be explained in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.

In Figure 1, the climbing and braking aid according to the invention is shown schematically in side view. The climbing and braking aid is mounted with the base plate 21 on a ski 27 in front of or behind the binding as desired. Each one-sided pivot lever 3, 3 'is in the starting position and lies with the stop surface 30 on the base plate 21. The curved region 24 with the transverse toothing 11 pointing in the direction of travel 23 is in this starting position above the upper edge 26 of the ski 27. The latching nose 10 of the two-sided lever 6 lies with its flat underside 28 on the flat surface 4 (FIGS. 3 and 4). of the intermediate piece 7 shown. If the one-sided pivot lever 3, 3 'z. B. can be folded down to brake the ski on slopes, it is sufficient to place the ski pole with the tip on the flat surface 4 and to lead into the pressure trough 9 '. The one-sided pivot lever 3, 3 'can now be folded down around the pivot bearing 3 under slight pressure. In order to bring the swivel lever 3, 3 'back into the starting position, it is sufficient to place a ski pole with the tip on the further flat surface 8 of the two-sided lever 6 and to guide it into the pressure trough 9 and thus to press the two-sided lever 8 with the ski pole about the further pivot axis 5 tilt, the detent 10 detaches from the notch 13 or from the further notch 19. This is possible because of the special angular position of the contact surfaces or locking surfaces 12, 14, 20.

Figure 2 shows the climbing and braking aid 1 shown schematically in side view, the one-sided pivot lever 3 is in a locking position. The locking lug 10 is snapped into the locking notch 13 which can be seen in FIG. 1, the contact surface 12 of the locking lug 10 shown in FIG. 1 abutting the locking surface 14 of the locking notch 13. As can be seen from FIG. 2, the contact angle of the locking surface 14 and the contact surface 12 corresponds approximately to a vertical line 15 on a straight line 16 which runs through the axis 17 of the further pivot bearing 5 and through the lower tip 18 of the locking lug 10. By means of a system angle selected in this way, the latching lug can be guided out of the latching notch 13 under slight pressure on the pressure trough 9 of the two-sided lever 6, without pressure being exerted on the intermediate piece shown in FIG. 4 with a second ski pole and thus the latching lug must be relieved. This allows a skier, for. B. use the second ski pole on slopes to secure its position. After the locking lug 10 has been released from the locking notch 13 shown in FIG. 1, the one-sided pivot lever 3 is automatically returned to the starting position by a spiral spring arranged on the pivot bearing 2 and not shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 for reasons of clarity. The stop surface 30 lies against the base plate 21 again. A flat spring on the further pivot bearing 5, which is also not shown, is used to place the flat underside of the latch 10, as shown in FIG. 1, on the flat surface 4 of the intermediate piece 7. The fact that the coil spring is also arranged on the two-sided lever 6 on the further pivot bearing 5, snow that has settled between the two-sided lever 6 and the base plate 21 and thus the function of the two-sided Lever 6 impaired, without damaging the coil spring with a pointed object, such as the ski stick, to be removed. The overall flat design of the climbing and braking aid 1 avoids the risk of injury to the skier in skiing accidents.

In Figure 3, a climbing and braking aid 1 is also shown schematically in the side view, but in a different locking position. Depending on the snow conditions or the steepness of the slopes, the one-sided pivot lever 3, 3 'can be snapped into different detent positions, the curved region 24 of the one-sided pivot lever 3 engaging in the snow at different depths with its transverse toothing 11. Of course, more than the notches 13, 19 shown in FIGS. 1 to 3 can also be provided on the intermediate piece 7. Advantageously, the one-sided swivel lever 3 can be returned to the starting position with only one ski pole by light pressure with the tip of the ski pole onto the pressure trough 9 of the two-sided lever 6. The flat design of the climbing and braking aid 1 can be clearly seen from FIGS. 1 to 3.

Figure 4 shows the climbing and braking aid 1 according to the invention shown schematically in plan view. The two pivot levers 3, 3 'are designed with the intermediate piece 7 as a structural unit. The one-sided swivel levers 3, 3 'are arranged with the climbing and braking aid 1 mounted so that they slightly protrude laterally from the ski 27 with their inner edges 29, 29'. The flat surface 4 of the intermediate piece 7 and the further flat surface 8 of the two-sided pivot lever 6 once again show how easily a ski pole tip can be attached here and can be inserted into the relatively large pressure recesses 9, 9 '. The fact that the one-sided swivel levers 3, 3 'are already arranged in the starting position so that they laterally protrude the inner edges of the ski can result in a complicated mechanism which is susceptible to malfunction and susceptibility to wear and tear and which the two sided Swing lever 3, 3 'apart when folding down, or merging when returning to the starting position, the same positions described not only act as a braking aid but also as a climbing aid. The downward-swinging levers 3, 3 'prevent the ski from running back and thus form a safe climbing aid, the effectiveness of which can be adjusted by the various pivot lever positions of the one-sided levers 3, 3'.

The invention thus proposes a climbing and braking aid for skis that can be manufactured very easily from a few components and thus allows a very robust and failure-prone construction. In addition, the flat construction of the climbing and braking aid protects the skier from injuries in skiing accidents. Another advantage of the proposed climbing and braking aid is given by the fact that the one-sided swivel levers folded down for braking or climbing are locked in different latching positions and can be brought back to the starting position by light pressure on a double-sided lever with only one ski pole.
