Abstract

A cable (1), especially a balanced (symmetrical) data transmission cable has the following: at least four stranded individual cores (2A, 2B, 3A, 3B), the individual cores (2A, 2B, 3A, 3B) in each case having one conductor (4) and insulation (5) which encloses the respective conductor (4) in the longitudinal direction, an intermediate sheath (7) which surrounds the individual cores (2A, 2B, 3A, 3B) jointly, a screen (8, 9) which surrounds the intermediate sheath (7), as well as an outer sheath (10) which encloses the screen all round. In this case, the intermediate sheath (7) is designed in the manner of embedding means which stabilise and insulate the position of the individual cores (2A, 2B, 3A, 3B). <IMAGE>
