A later part of the machine, shown diagrammatically by part 18, is responsible for cutting the tobacco rod wrapped in its paper 12B in order to form the individual cigarettes 12C which are then taken to a next portion of the machine by means not shown in the figure.

Le dispositif d'injection est constitué principalement d'une buse d'injection 20, maintenue en place par un support 21, reliée par une canalisation adéquate 22 à un dispositif de pompage 23 alimenté par un réservoir 24. Le support 21 est maintenu sur la plaque de guidage 13 par des moyens de fixation 21A connus de la technique qui permettent en outre un réglage de position dudit support tant longitudinalement que transversalement. Comme on le voit sur la figure 2, le support 21 comprend une cavité longitudinale 21B sur sa partie inférieure, afin de laisser libre le passage du boudin de tabac 12A ainsi que de la bande format d'entraînement 15 et la bande de papier 14, toutes deux formées en U comme expliqué précédemment. Le support 21 comprend aussi un trou 21C reliant la face supérieure du support à la cavité 21B, disposé de préférence au centre du support, le trou 21C étant de préférence incliné vers l'avant dans le sens longitudinal, comme on le voit à la figure 1. La buse d'injection 20 est constituée principalement d'une portion de tuyau, dont le diamètre extérieur est inférieur au diamètre du trou 21C afin de pouvoir coulisser à l'intérieur dudit trou afin que la position de l'extrémité de sortie 20A de la portion de tuyau 20 puisse être ajustée à l'intérieur du boudin 12A. Des moyens de serrage, non représentés, sur le support 21, permettent de maintenir la portion de tuyau 20, respectivement son extrémité 20A en position. Lors de l'avance du boudin 12A, les brins de tabac sont écartés de par la présence de l'extrémité de la buse d'injection 20 plongée dans le boudin 12A, créant de ce fait un espace vide en aval de l'extrémité de sortie 20A de la buse 20. Un dispositif 23 est chargé de pomper le liquide dans un réservoir 24, de le doser et de l'injecter à l'intérieur du boudin 12A, respectivement dans l'espace vide créé comme indiqué plus haut, par l'intermédiaire de la canalisation 22, de préférence une canalisation souple, reliée à l'extrémité arrière de la buse 20. Au cas où il est désiré que la quantité de liquide injecté ne soit pas constante sur la longueur d'une cigarette, une liaison de commande 25 est établie entre le dispositif de coupe 18 et le dispositif de dosage 23 afin de commander séquentiellement l'injection de produit à l'intérieur du boudin 12A. Sitôt après que le produit ait été injecté, la couverture de papier 14 est appliquée sur le reste du pourtour du boudin, resserrant celui-ci et refermant ainsi l'espace vide créé auparavant. En variante, il est aussi possible que la liaison de commande 25 ne soit pas actionnée par le dispositif de coupe 18, mais par n'importe quel autre dispositif apte à donner une commande séquentielle. Comme on le voit plus précisément aux figures 3A et 3B, l'extrémité de sortie 20A de la buse 20 est positionnée de manière à se trouver au centre du boudin 12A (voir aussi la figure 2), afin que le produit injecté soit réparti régulièrement selon la section transversale du boudin. The injection nozzle 20 mainly consists of a portion of pipe, the outside diameter of which is less than the diameter of the hole 21C in order to be able to slide inside said hole so that the position of the outlet end 20A of the pipe portion 20 can be adjusted inside the tube 12A. Clamping means, not shown, on the support 21 make it possible to hold the portion of pipe 20, respectively its end 20A in position. When the rod 12A advances, the tobacco strands are separated by the presence of the end of the injection nozzle 20 immersed in the rod 12A, thereby creating an empty space downstream from the outlet end 20A of the nozzle 20. A device 23 is responsible for pumping the liquid into a reservoir 24, dosing it and injecting it inside the tube 12A, respectively into the empty space created as indicated above, via the line 22, preferably a flexible line, connected to the rear end of the nozzle 20. In case it is desired that the quantity of liquid injected is not constant over the length d 'A cigarette, a control link 25 is established between the cutting device 18 and the metering device 23 in order to sequentially control the injection of product inside the tube 12A. Vu que le boudin de tabac 12A est en mouvement, il entraîne le segment de produit 26 dans son avance; afin que le segment de produit 26 soit entraîné sans résistance, il est nécessaire que les frottements à l'intérieur de la canalisation 22 ainsi que ceux des éventuelles poulies de guidage ainsi que ceux provenant du déroulement de la bobine 27 soient minimisés. Il est aussi possible, si nécessaire, de prévoir des moyens auxiliaires d'entraînement du segment de produit 26, disposés en amont de la canalisation 22. le segment de produit 26 aura un diamètre relativement faible, puisqu'il doit pouvoir coulisser librement à l'intérieur de la canalisation 22.
