Abstract

The invention relates to a paper case for documents having two case walls (10, 12) integrally connected to each other at a first fold edge (14') to form a closed lateral edge (14). The case walls (10,12) are additionally connected to each other at at least one further lateral edge (10) or lateral edge section (22) by means of an adhesive tab (16, 18) moulded on to the front case wall. The front case wall can be pivoted open about an oblique pivot line (32) against the open lateral edges (28) or lateral edge sections (30), exposing an insertion aperture. In order to reduce the risk of tearing, the front case wall (10) has a recess (34) adjoining the insertion end of the fold edge (22') of an adhesive tab (18) extending over a closed lateral edge section (22) and open at the edge towards a free lateral edge section (30) of the case wall (10) concerned, the limiting edge of which recess directly adjoins the fold edge (22') and, in its subsequent course, has a concave arcuate section (40) with a vertex tangent (46) parallel to the pivot line (32) and intersecting the fold edge (22') of the adhesive tab (18) at a distance from its insertion end. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a writing envelope made of paper, with two sleeve walls integrally connected to one another at one side edge by a common folded edge, which are additionally formed on at least one further side edge or side edge section by means of a molded on one sleeve wall by a further folded edge by 180 ° against the other sleeve wall bent and glued to this flatly glued flap are connected to one another, and the free opening side edges and / or side edge sections are exposed by opening one, preferably the front cover wall around a substantially through the insertion-side ends of the folded edges, preferably oblique to the folded edges folding line exposed form for the record.

There is a document envelope made of paper of this type known, in which an adhesive flap is formed on a side edge of the front envelope wall which is perpendicular to the first fold edge and which forms the envelope base and is glued to the rear envelope wall. This document envelope is accordingly closed on two mutually perpendicular side edges and has an insertion opening for the documents that extends over the other two side edges. In order to avoid tearing the envelope walls when exposing the insertion opening, a relatively thick paper is used to produce the known document envelope. In the case of writing envelopes made of thinner paper, which are at least partially closed on three side edges, additional measures must be taken with which tearing of the paper in the edge region of the insertion edge can be avoided.

In the case of document envelopes made of plastic which are closed on two or three sides and have two envelope walls which are welded together on one and / or the other edge of the envelope which runs perpendicular to the insertion opening, it is already known (DE-AS 1 288 071) that each weld seam has a recess in an envelope wall or in both wall walls near the weld seam end adjacent to the insertion opening. Each recess is designed there as a slot with a rounded end, which runs obliquely from a free edge to the respective weld seam and ends at a distance from it and is open at the edge. The slot arrangement ensures that the stress forces act in the slot base, so that the forces distributed around the slot base are weakened to such an extent that tearing under the usual stress is prevented. In the case of document envelopes made of paper, however, these measures are not sufficient to prevent tearing in the area of the slot base under the usual stresses. This applies all the more if the slots and thus the roundings in the area of the slot base are made relatively narrow.

It is also known in the case of a three-sided closed paper document envelope with two envelope walls per se (NL-A-7810440) that the one envelope wall adjoins an adjacent free side edge portion of the relevant envelope wall at the end of a folded edge extending over a closed side edge portion has an open-edged recess, the boundary edge of which directly adjoins the folded edge and, in the further course, has an essentially concave arc section. The envelope wall forms a lid flap there, the folding line of which coincides with the folded edge.

Proceeding from this, the object of the invention is to take precautions in the case of paper envelopes of paper of the type specified at the outset which ensure effective protection against tearing.

To achieve this object, the combinations of features specified in claims 1 and 19 are proposed. Further advantageous refinements and developments of the invention result from the dependent claims.

The solution according to the invention is based on the idea that the tensile forces which occur when the front casing wall is opened must not act in their entirety on the insertion-side end of the folded edge, but must be introduced into the casing material over an extended distance.

In order to achieve this, it is proposed according to a first embodiment variant of the invention that the one shell wall has a recess which is open at the insertion end of a folded edge which extends over a closed side edge section and which is adjacent to an adjacent free side edge section of the relevant shell wall, the boundary edge of which is directly adjacent the fold edge adjoins and in the further course an essentially concave arc section with a vertex tangent parallel to the folding line, the fold edge cutting at a distance from its insert-side end. With these measures it is achieved that the tensile forces do not attack directly at the end of the insertion end that is at risk of tearing, but at a distance from it at the folded edge, in a considerably weakened form, since the predominant Part of the tensile forces are distributed over a longer distance along the concave arc section that bulges convexly when opened into the shell wall.

A further improvement in this regard is achieved in that the boundary edge of the open-edged recess adjoins the fold edge at an acute angle.

The boundary edge of the open-edge recess advantageously has an elongated concave contour in the region of the arch section. A radius of curvature in the region of the arc section has proven to be particularly advantageous, which corresponds to 0.5 to 2 times the depth of the open-edge recess measured from the free side edge, the radius of curvature or the arc length of the arc section preferably being 2 to 10% of the length the folding line should be.

A further advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the boundary edge of the open-edge recess has concave transition sections with a smaller radius of curvature at least at one end, preferably at both ends of the concave arc section. The transition sections of the boundary edge can merge towards the edge opening into end sections with a larger radius of curvature or into rectilinear end sections. A further improved embodiment in this regard provides that the end section of the boundary edge opposite the folding edge end section with a convex curvature merges tangentially into the free side edge section. The end sections of the boundary edge are expediently oriented approximately perpendicular to the folding line.

In the case of a document pocket which is closed on three sides, the recess is expediently designed to be open to an edge that is flush with the folded edge or parallel to the free side edge. The adhesive flap can be molded onto the front wall of the casing and glued to the rear wall of the casing. Furthermore, filing perforations can be arranged in the vicinity of the common fold edge through both sleeve walls, wherein the sleeve walls can be glued together in the area of the filing holes to form a closed, stiffened edge strip.

A further preferred embodiment of a document envelope closed on three sides provides that the adhesive flap is formed on the longitudinal side edge of the front envelope wall opposite the common folded edge and extends over a side edge section of 1/4 to 3/4 the length or height of the relevant longitudinal side edge. With this measure, the introduction of the document is facilitated without the risk that the document can slide out of the document case laterally.

It is important that on a side edge of the front casing wall perpendicular to the first fold edge, a further, the adhesive base forming the base of the envelope and glued to the rear envelope wall is formed. In order to facilitate the insertion of the written material, in this case the front casing wall can have a separating cut which runs from the insertion-side end of the adhesive flap arranged on the longitudinal side edge obliquely to the folded edge of the bottom-side adhesive flap and divides the front casing wall into two separate wall parts, both wall parts one to the bottom Have folded edge-reaching, open-edge recess with a concave boundary edge in the sense of the invention.

According to a second, preferred embodiment of the invention, the common fold edge extends from the casing base only over part of the relevant side edge and forms a closed side edge section, at the end of which the insert-side end has an edge that is open towards the open side edge, and at its base the fold edge penetrates transversely and with its side flanks adjoining an open side edge section is bounded by a common slit-shaped shell wall cutout. With these measures, positional tolerances in the mechanical folding of the document cover can be compensated for. To further improve the tear protection, it is proposed that the side flanks of the common sleeve wall cutout each have a recess that is open to the edge of the open side edge section and that is delimited on the folded edge side by the common bottom of the sleeve wall cutout running transversely to the folded edge. With these measures it is achieved that the predominant part of the tensile forces occurring when the casing wall is opened are used for mutual bulging of the casing walls while pulling in the folded edge in the area of the cutout base while avoiding the risk of tearing. A further improvement in this regard is achieved in that the boundary edge of the open-edged recess in the front casing wall has an elongated rectilinear or concave arc section adjoining the cutout base with an apex tangent that is parallel to the folding line and intersects the fold edge at a distance from its insert-side end.

The edge-open recess in the front wall of the casing is advantageously deeper and elongated than in the rear wall of the casing. Likewise, the side flank in the front sleeve edge can have a greater distance from the fold edge than the side flank in the rear sleeve wall. Accordingly, the common sleeve wall cutout is introduced asymmetrically to the folded edge in the blank forming the two sleeve walls. The common fold edge expediently extends over a side edge section of 1/4 to 3/4 the length of the relevant long side edge.

In order to achieve the highest possible resistance of the filing area, it is proposed according to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention that the through-going through both sleeve walls Filing holes are arranged in the area of one of the adhesive tabs, so that the filing holes pass through three layers of material.

The document envelopes shown in FIGS. 1 to 3 have a front envelope wall 10 and a rear one Envelope wall 12, which are integrally connected to one another at a folded edge 14 'to form a closed side edge 14. Adhesive flaps 16, 18 are additionally formed on the front casing wall 10, which are bent to form the casing base 20 or a closed side edge section 22 on folded edges 20 ', 22' by 180 ° against the rear casing wall and glued to the outside thereof. In the area of the closed side edge 14, the casing walls 10, 12 can be glued to each other along an edge strip 24 ′ to form a reinforced edge strip 24 and provided with a filing perforation 26. On the upper side edge and on the side side edge sections 30, the casing walls 10, 12 are not connected to one another, so that the front casing wall 10 can be folded away from the rear casing wall 12 by exposing an insertion opening for the documents by a folding line 32. The folding line 32 runs obliquely and includes an acute angle α with the upper side edge 28.

In the exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 1, the front casing wall 10 is provided with an opening 34 which is open at the edge and forms a tear protection. The boundary edge of the recess 34 adjoins the insertion side end of the adhesive flap 18 at an acute angle directly to the folded edge 22 'and is from there via an approximately rectilinear end section 36 and a strongly curved transition section 38 with an elongated concave arc section 40 connected. The arch section 40 merges at its other end via a further curved transition section 42 into a rectilinear end section 44 oriented essentially perpendicular to the folding line 32, which ends tangentially into the free side edge section 30 at its end. The concave arch section 40 has an apex tangent 46 parallel to the folding line 32, which cuts the fold edge 22 ′ at a distance a from its end on the insertion side. With these measures it is achieved that the tensile forces occurring when the front casing wall is opened around the folding line 32 are distributed over the arch section 40 to the casing material in such a way that at the insertion end of the folded edge 22 'there are no noteworthy forces which lead to a risk of tearing at this point could lead to attack more.

In the exemplary embodiment shown in FIGS. 3 a and b, the front casing wall 10 is divided into two front wall parts 10 ′, 10 ″ by a separating cut 48. The separating cut 48 runs obliquely from the insertion-side end of the side edge section 22 to the casing base 20. Each of the front wall parts 10 ′, 10 ″ has an open-edge recess 34 ′, 34 ″ with a concave curved section 40 ′, 40 ″ in the vicinity of the casing base 20 , which ensure that the front wall parts 10 ', 10''around the folding lines 32 and 32''can be opened without the risk of tearing against the rear casing wall 12 with the release of an insertion opening. The front wall part 10 ″ gives a large insertion opening free for the documents, while the front wall part 10 '' is intended for receiving the lower right corner of the documents to be inserted.

In the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 4 and 5, the front and the rear casing wall 10, 12 on the right side wall section 114 are integrally connected to one another at a fold edge 114 ', while an adhesive flap 118 around a fold edge 122' around the left longitudinal side edge 122 of the front side wall 10 Folded 180 ° backwards and glued to the back wall of the casing. The filing perforation 26 is in this case in the area of the adhesive flap 118. The common fold edge 114 'extends from the sleeve base 20 only over part of the side edge in question and forms a closed side edge portion 114, at the end 114''of which the insert is inserted to the upper open side edge 28 towards the edge, at its base 136 the fold edge 114 'transversely penetrating and with its side flanks 130', 130 '' an open side edge section 130 delimiting common slit wall section 150. The side flanks 130 ', 130''of the sleeve wall cutout 150 each have a cutout 134, 154 which is open to the edge toward the open side edge section 130 and which is delimited on the fold edge side by the common cutout base 136 running transversely to the fold edge 114'. The boundary edge of the recess 134 adjoins at a right angle directly at the insert-side end 114 ″ of the folded edge 114 ′ and is from there over the approximately rectilinear end section 136 (cutout base) and a curved transition section 138 are connected to an elongated concave arc section 140. The arch section 140 merges at its other end via a further more curved transition section 42 into a rectilinear end section 144 oriented essentially perpendicular to the folding line 32, which ends at the end in the side flank 130 ′ of the open side edge section 130. The concave arc section 140 has an apex tangent 46 parallel to the folding line 32, which intersects the fold edge 114 'at a distance a from its end 114''on the insertion side.

The recess 154 has a concave circular arc section 152 which adjoins the rectilinear end section 136 and opens at its upper end via a transition cut 156 into the side flank 130 ″ of the open side edge section 130. With these measures it is achieved that the tensile forces occurring when the front casing wall is unfolded around the folding line 32 are distributed over the arch sections 140, 136, 152 to the casing material in such a way that at the insert-side end 114 ″ of the folded edge 114 ′ there are no significant forces, that could lead to tearing, attack more.

In summary, the following can be stated: The invention relates to a paper document envelope with two pieces integrally with one another on a first folded edge 14 ′, forming a closed side edge 14 connected shell walls 10, 12. The casing walls 10, 12 are additionally connected to one another on at least one further side edge 20 or side edge section 22 by means of an adhesive flap 16, 18 integrally formed on the front casing wall. The front side wall can be opened around an inclined folding line 32 at the open side edges 28 or side edge sections 30 with the opening of an insertion opening. In order to reduce the risk of tearing, the front casing wall 10 has a recess 34 which adjoins the insertion-side end of the folded edge 22 'of an adhesive flap 18 which extends over a closed side edge section 22 and which is open-ended to a free side edge section 30 of the relevant casing wall 10, the boundary edge of which is directly adjacent to the Folded edge 22 'connects and in the further course has a concave arc section 40 with an apex tangent 46 which cuts parallel to the folding line 32 and which folds edge 22' of the adhesive flap 18 cuts at a distance from its insert-side end.
