Description

From DE-G 89 02 403 U1 a cable bushing with an electrical plug connection is known, in which a sleeve connected to the wall is provided in an opening in a wall. A plug and a coupling are inserted from the outside into the sleeve and, when plugged in, secured by union nuts which engage in an external thread of the sleeve. However, it is necessary to first fasten the sleeve in the wall before the plug and coupling can be inserted into the sleeve.

The invention specified in claim 1 is based on the problem of creating a fixable electrical connector that can be fixed with simple means.

The advantages achieved by the invention consist in particular in that the electrical plug connection can be fixed without additional assembly means, but only by simply pushing it into an opening in an elongated component and then latching it. The projections necessary for latching in the opening can easily be created with the processing tools which are necessary anyway for producing the opening when producing the opening. The projections can have any shape that is useful for locking. In addition, the connector according to the invention manages with a small number of components.

An embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawings and will be described in more detail below.

Show it:
  • Fig. 1 is a view of an electrical connector fixed in a locking pin and
  • Fig. 2 shows a section through the locking bolt during a machining operation.

In Fig. 1, an electrical plug connection 1 is shown in a view, which consists of a first housing 2 designed as a pin connector and a second housing 3 designed as a socket connector. Socket contacts or plug contacts, which are not shown, are held in the housings 2, 3 and are connected to electrical guide wires 4.

The electrical plug connection 1 is mounted in an elongate component 5, here a locking bolt serving as a fastening element for a motor vehicle exterior mirror. The locking pin 5 has a continuous cylindrical opening 6, the inside diameter of the opening 6 being chosen to be somewhat larger than the outside diameter of the first housing 2. At a depth t relative to the top surface K of the locking bolt 5, the opening 6 has a peripheral ridge 7 which engages with a groove 8 arranged on the first housing 2.

To assemble the first housing 2, the electrical guide wires 4, which are optionally already provided with socket contacts or plug contacts, are pulled through the opening 6 of the latching bolt 5 and fixed in holders (not shown) in the first housing 2. Then the first housing 2 is pushed into the opening 6 until the groove 8 engages with the ridge 7. The first housing 2 is thus fixed in the locking pin 5.

The locking pin 5 is made including the opening 6 by extrusion. For this purpose, as shown in FIG. 2, two processing tools 9, 10, here designed as stamps, are required. The punches 9, 10 are pressed into a blank of the locking bolt 5 from two sides until their head surfaces 11, 12 come to rest at a depth t. The contact surface of the head surfaces 11, 12 is identified as the tool parting plane W. Both head surfaces 11, 12 have circumferential bevels 13, 14, which produce the ridge 7 in depth t during processing.

In the manufacturing process shown, it is possible to determine the shape of the burr 7 by the shape of the chamfers 13, 14. In addition to the proposed circumferential ridge 7, the function is not impaired other shapes possible. The depth t, in which the burr, based on the head surface K of the locking bolt 5, comes to lie, is determined by the tool parting plane W and is adjustable. The ridge 7 can be produced by all manufacturing processes that allow machining or shaping of the opening 6 from two sides.
