Abstract

A reversible latch (4) for a door lock is actuated via a pull-back lever (6) which is kinematically connected to the latch shank (5) by means of a coupling (10) disengageable counter to spring force (spring 9). One version of the coupling (10) provides a driving bolt (11) which can be pressed in counter to spring force (spring leg 13) and is located in the pull-back lever (6) and which engages into a recess (15, 15') in the latch shank (5). When the driving bolt (11) is pressed back through an actuating orifice (16), the latch (4), including the latch shank (5), can then be extracted and reinserted in reverse. For this purpose, the latch shank (5) has, at its free end, run-on slopes (17) for the driving bolt (11). <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a convertible latch for a door lock with a faceplate through which the latch engages, and with a latch shaft adjoining the latch and guided in the lock housing, in which a lever handle which can be actuated by the latch and which controls the latch movement engages.

Door latches have a run-on slope that interacts with a striking plate on the stock side. The arrangement of the run-on slope on the left or the right side of the latch must match the direction of closing of the door. In order to simplify production and in particular the storage bracket, locks (mortise locks) have been developed in which the latch can be adapted to the closing direction of the door as required on site, i.e. directly at the construction site.

A construction is known in which the latch can be pulled out of the lock housing over the faceplate against the force of a spring at most with the aid of a tool and can be rotated through 180 ° about a cylindrical central axis with respect to the falling shaft. As soon as you release the trap, it jumps back and the misalignment is complete. Another embodiment has recesses in the size of the latch in the side walls of the lock housing in the area of the latch shaft directly after the faceplate. The latch can be pushed back into the interior of the lock housing and rotated through 180 ° in the area of the recesses around a central axis. After the change, the trap jumps back to the basic position.

The invention aims to simplify the construction and the changeover itself. This is achieved according to the invention in that a clutch which can be disengaged against spring force is provided between the retraction lever and the drop shaft, which may have two parallel legs. If the clutch is disengaged, there is no connection between the retraction lever and the drop shaft, so that the case together with the drop shaft from the door lock After inserting the latch with the shaft in the desired direction, the coupling engages again and the change is complete. The trap is therefore interchangeable. It can be color-matched to the lever handle set and selected, for example, brass or chrome. The exclusion length can also be adjusted by changing the case. Finally, it is also possible to use a roller trap if necessary. The clutch, which can be disengaged against spring force, can be provided in the drop shaft and positively engage or engage in the retraction lever or the nut or, in a technical reversal, the clutch can be installed in the retraction lever or the nut and with a connecting bolt, driver, hook or the like Engage the coupling piece in the drop shaft or engage it. It is expedient if the disengageable clutch comprises a driving pin, which is axially displaceably mounted in the retraction lever up to a stop and engages in a recess in the drop shaft and if the driving pin can be pressed back against spring force in a lock plate of the lock housing and through an actuating opening aligned with the pin can be disengaged from the engagement in the drop shaft. To move and remove the latch with the shaft from the lock housing, the driving pin is pushed back through the opening in the side wall, for example by means of a pin (screwdriver), whereupon the latch with the shaft can be removed, turned over and reinserted. It is particularly advantageous if the falling shank or the legs thereof have run-on bevels at their free ends for gripping under the front side of the optionally spherical driving pin and for pushing back and for latching into the recess of the falling shank. As a result, manual actuation of the clutch when inserting the latch into the lock housing is no longer necessary.

An embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawings. Fig. 1 shows the latch area of a mortise lock in longitudinal section, Fig. 2 shows a cross section 1, FIG. 3 shows a section along line III-III in FIG. 1 and FIG. 4 shows a section through a portion of FIG. 1 along line IV-IV, but in one stage the latch is inserted shortly before the clutch engages.

In a lock housing, which comprises a faceplate 1 and side lock plates 2, 3, a latch 4 with a drop shaft 5 is mounted so that it can be slid. A retraction lever 6, which is designed as an angle lever and is rotatable about the axle pin 7, is provided for displacement. The retraction lever 6 is operated on the one hand by a lever system 8 by a pusher. On the other hand, the retraction lever 6 engages in the drop shaft 5 and transmits its rotary movement into a linear retraction movement of the latch 4. A spring 9 surrounds the axle bolt 7 and prestresses the retracting lever 6 in the sense of extending the latch 4.

The kinematic connection between the retraction lever 6 and the drop shaft 5 takes place by means of a disengageable coupling 10 which comprises a driving pin 11 which can be displaced in a transverse bore 12 (stepped bore) of the retraction lever 6 against spring force (leg 13 of the spring 9). The driving pin 11 projects beyond the retraction lever 6 and engages in its extended position, delimited by a collar 14 (FIG. 2), in a vertical elongated hole 15 in one leg of the drop shaft 5. If the retraction lever 6 is pivoted to the right (FIG. 1) by means of the pusher, the driving pin 11 describes a circular arc and, sliding in the elongated hole 15, takes the falling shaft 5 with the case 4 with it.

An opening 16 is provided in the lock plate 3 of the lock housing (FIG. 2), which is aligned with the driving pin 11 in the basic position according to FIG. 1. If the trap 4 is now to be changed, then the driving pin 11 is pushed back against the force of the spring 13 or 9 until the driving pin 11 disengages from the elongated hole 15 of the falling shaft 5. The driving pin 11 is pushed back expediently by means of a screwdriver which is inevitably within reach when installing a mortise lock. As soon as the driving pin 11 is uncoupled from the drop shaft 5, the latter can be pulled out of the lock housing together with the latch 4 on the cuff side. After turning the case 4 with the shaft 5 is pushed back into the opening in the face plate 1 (Fig. 4). The two legs of the drop shaft 5 are each provided on the end face with a ramp 17. The driving pin 11, which is preferably crowned at the end, snaps onto this, the further shifted (arrow) pushes back the changed latch (arrow) until the driving pin 11 snaps into the elongated hole 15 'of the falling shaft 5. As a result, the kinematic connection between the drop shaft 5 and the retraction lever 6 is restored.

In the exemplary embodiment, the drop shaft arm of the retraction lever 6 has a slot 18 in which the leg 13 of the spring 9 lies. Thus, only one spring is used both for the latch ejection and for the pretensioning of the driving pin 11. However, a latch spring which acts independently of the retraction lever 6 and acts on the latch shaft 5 can be provided for the latch ejection. In this embodiment, the driving pin 11 would have a separate spring. If, in this variant, the driving pin 11 is pushed in, that is to say uncoupled, the latch 4 with the shaft 5 automatically jumps out of the lock housing under the action of a latch spring (automatic ejection).

The retraction lever can also be part of the lock nut and thus be directly connected to the handle. The lock nut then has a projection which carries the clutch 10 which can be disengaged against spring force at its end analogously to the retraction lever 6. So that the trap, for example when slamming an open toe, simply withdraws without moving the pusher (i.e. when the trap is activated in reverse), the driving pin 11 does not engage in an elongated hole 15, but in one Recess, which also extends in the direction of the trap, the length of the recess corresponding to the trap exclusion. Instead of such a recess, a deflection surface, for example a nose-like projection, can also be provided on the drop shaft 5, on which the driving pin 11 engages. However, a freewheel can also be installed between the handle and a lock nut, so that the handle takes the nut with it, in the opposite direction the nut movement does not lead to a movement of the handle. In a technical reversal, the driving pin can also be provided in the falling shank and — can be disengaged against spring force — engage in a recess in the retraction lever or in the nut or engage on a contact surface of the retracting lever or the nut.
