Abstract

The solid case is a rotationally symmetrical hollow body and has an inside contour (1) and an outside contour (2) which runs parallel thereto with a constant wall thickness and into which a closed umbrella can be inserted. The outside contour (2) is of such a design that the mid-axis (3) of the case forms a slight angle of inclination (5) with a resting surface (4). The inside contour (1) has parts (6, 7, 8) of the diameter which are narrower and rest snugly against the umbrella material when the umbrella has been inserted and thus have a sealing effect. Due to the shaping of the case, when the umbrella has been inserted hollow chambers are formed in the parts (9, 10, 11), which hollow chambers are able to receive the remaining water coming off the wet umbrella. Description

The invention relates to a stable cover for holding a wet umbrella, which enables it to be placed on a horizontal surface (e.g. a car seat) without wetting it.

This is achieved:

Dies verhindert ferner das Ausfliessen des Wassers bei ruckweiser Beschleunigung oder brüsker Bremsung des Autos.

Umbrella covers are known in various forms and most of them are suitable for retaining water.

However, the inventive design is characterized by the fact that it is specially designed for drip-free storage on a horizontal surface and is particularly suitable for it and can be used for all common women's and men's umbrellas, such as tots, stick and advertising umbrellas, etc. Another new feature is that the shell has a stable shape and consists of a single piece, which is manufactured using the hollow blowing process.

Umbrella covers, which consist of several individual pieces and can be telescopically pushed together, are available on the market, along with simple rollable plastic covers, but must be brought into a vertical position and fastened to prevent water leakage. Several embodiments of the invention are explained in more detail in the following description with reference to the drawing. Each shows a schematic representation in section:

1, the stable shell for holding an umbrella consists of a rotationally symmetrical hollow body and has an inner contour (1) and an outer contour (2) running parallel to it with a constant wall thickness, into which a closed umbrella can be inserted.

The outer contour is designed so that the central axis (3) of the casing forms a slight inclination angle (5) with a support surface (4), so that residual water initially collects in the tip (15) of the casing due to gravity.

Due to the shape, cavities are formed between the shell (1) and the inserted umbrella on the parts (9, 10, 11), which are also able to absorb residual water. The volume of water to be absorbed is significantly increased by the inclined position of the central axis (3).

The inner contour (1) has narrower parts of the diameter (6, 7, 8) which, when the umbrella is pushed in, rest on the umbrella fabric and thus have a sealing effect and prevent water from flowing out.

The narrowing at the inlet opening (8) also means that when the wet umbrella is pushed into the cover, the adhering water is largely stripped off. The wiping effect when the screen is pushed in, the deliberately provided cavities for receiving residual water, the sealing effect on inner parts and the inclined position of the central axis on a horizontal surface prevent water from escaping and the surface, e.g. a car seat that can get wet.

When the umbrella is closed, the protruding parts of the steel rods connecting the umbrella material come to lie near the handle. If the umbrella is now pushed into the cover, the area in which the umbrella sticks come in requires a special shape to ensure that the umbrella can be inserted and removed easily. This point was taken into account by rounding the inner contour at the points (12, 13, 14) and executing the parts (15) with an angle of inclination.

The casing body consists of one piece and is produced in a thermoplastic material by blowing in an injection mold.

Fig. 2 and Fig. 3 show modified exemplary embodiments, which is characteristic that the total length is shortened when not in use.

In Fig. 2 this was realized by the rear part of the envelope being designed as a corrugated tube (16) which extends from its original length (17) to the dimension (18) when the umbrella is pushed in.

In Fig. 3, this was achieved by producing the cover at least from two parts that can be telescopically pushed into one another, thereby reducing the overall length (19) to the dimension (20).

Claims (8)

Stable cover for holding an umbrella, which is characterized by its special shape in that it is able to absorb the residual water flowing off the umbrella in such a way that water cannot escape when placed on a horizontal surface.
