Description

The invention relates to a head-end station for community reception systems according to the preamble of patent claim 1.

Receiving systems of the type mentioned at the beginning can be connected on the one hand to antenna cables from the parabolic mirror and on the other hand to a receiver. In order to be able to receive programs under public law, in particular the 1st and 2nd programs, the participants must also be able to receive terrestrial programs which can be connected to the television or receiver via terrestrial lines. The consequence of this is that the reception of all programs requires a large number of cables and a high level of wiring, which is undesirable. DE 35 43 229 C1 describes a home distribution network for single and communal antenna systems in which the interconnection of 2 terrestrial frequency ranges - FM and TV with 2 satellite IF ranges (from left - and right-hand polarization) - to 2 Coaxial cable and decoupling through antenna sockets with directional coupling - characteristic goes. The components that can be plugged together (terrestrial amplifiers, crossovers, satellite IF amplifiers) are different components. Two separate cables must be installed up to the end user (2-Sat IF signals). Furthermore, DE-AS 22 01 783 describes a busbar arrangement for community antenna systems, onto which amplifiers or converters can be plugged.

Starting from the above prior art, the object of the invention is to remedy this.

The object is achieved according to the invention by the features of claim 1.

It can be seen that the invention is implemented in any case if a head-end station is present which consists of modules which can be plugged together and have inputs and outputs for terrestrial and satellite frequencies. The switch modules are designed in such a way that they can be connected directly to one another without any wiring. This allows head stations with up to 38 users to be set up quickly and easily.

Further expedient and advantageous embodiments of the invention emerge from the subclaims.

A particularly useful embodiment provides that the modules can be connected in series. Within the scope of this inventive concept, it is expedient if at least two rows of modules can be connected in parallel to one another.

With regard to a specific embodiment of the invention, it is expedient if the modules each have three inputs and three outputs, three of which are provided as connections for subscribers, while the other three outputs are simultaneously provided as connecting bodies between two modules are. The inputs are designed in such a way that they can be plugged together with the outputs of the neighboring module. Finally, an expedient embodiment of the invention provides that a basic module is provided which can be connected to a power supply, has three inputs and at least three subscriber outputs.

An embodiment of the invention is shown schematically in the drawing and is explained in more detail below.

In the drawing, a head-end station 10 for satellite community reception systems is shown with building blocks 12 and 13 which can be connected to one another in an operational manner and with satellite IF inputs 14 and outputs 16, of which the building blocks 12 are of identical construction, while the building block 13 is constructed as a basic building block which can be connected to a power supply 20 and has three inputs 16 and 49 and four outputs 19. Via the cable 22, the output 19 can be connected to an antenna socket (satellite / terrestrial). A connection to a receiver 24 can be established via a terrestrial line 44 and a satellite line 46. The satellite exterior 30 consists of a parabolic mirror 32, an H / V switch 38 and the coaxial cables 40 and 42 for transmitting the signals LNC horizontal 34 and LNC vertical 36. The cable 40 transmits level 1, while the cable 42 transmits the Level 2 transmits. The terrestrial exterior 26 is connected via a multi-range amplifier 28 and the line 29 to the input for terrestrial frequencies 44. The reference number 49 designates the terrestrial output of the first module and the terrestrial input of the adjacent module. The connections 14, 44 and 16, 49 are designed in such a way that they also enable plug connections between the neighboring modules. The subscriber connections 18, 19 transmit the terrestrial frequency range and at the same time each a satellite IF frequency range. Switching between the two Sat IF frequency ranges is done by varying the DC voltage at the subscriber output between 14 and 18 volts. The terrestrial frequency range remains unaffected. The frequency of the terrestrial frequency range is in the range of 47 - 862 MHz, while the frequency of the satellite IF frequency range covers the frequencies of 950 - 1750 MHz. In detail, the head-end station 10 consists of the basic unit 13 (SVG 3/4) for supplying up to 4 participants. There are three inputs 16, 49 (2 x satellite IF and 1 x terrestrial frequency range) and four outputs (four participants) are provided. The modules 12 (expansion units SVE 3/3) can be plugged together with the basic unit 3. A multi-range amplifier MA 32 R06 can also be provided as a plug-in unit if no existing amplifier is used.

The modules 12 have integrated amplifiers to compensate for the distribution losses. The system is dimensioned so that each divider receives the same RF level regardless of the position of its socket and regardless of the number of modules (size of the head-end station). The extension of the head-end station to the desired number of subscribers is done by plugging in expansion units 12. The terrestrial frequency ranges are fed in either directly on the first SVE module from the existing house system or by using the multi-range amplifier 1 (MA 32 R06 ). The head-end can be expanded up to 19 subscriber connections. More subscriber connections are possible by connecting SVE / SVG blocks at the entrance with distributors.
