Description

The invention relates to a vessel closure machine according to the preamble of claim 1.

Such a vessel sealing machine is already known in which U-shaped, outwardly open pockets for the crown caps are formed on the underside of the sealing heads, from which the crown caps held by a permanent magnet in the ejector only protrude slightly downwards (DE-GM 1 947 169). The stripping device has a fixed edge which is arranged closely under the pockets and runs obliquely outwards. Bottle remains stuck in the capping heads can be excreted through the sloping edge. The removal of unprocessed crown corks, on the other hand, is extremely problematic due to the small overhang, so that malfunctions caused by crown corks being fed in twice or getting caught in the area of the feed device cannot be ruled out.

In another generic vascular sealing machine, these are in turn by a permanent magnet in the ejector worn crown corks with their full height relative to the lower end face of the closing heads, so that unprocessed crown corks can be removed by a fixed scraping edge oriented radially to the orbit of the closing heads and inserted into a downward-running discharge channel (DE-PS 27 40 440). However, the inadequate fixation and entrainment of the crown caps is disadvantageous both in the area between the feed device and the sealing zone and between the sealing zone and the stripping device.

The invention has for its object to improve the effect of the stripping device in a generic vascular sealing machine with simple means in such a way that unprocessed crown corks or the like which protrude from the underside of the sealing heads or the like are removed safely and without interference from the sealing heads.

This object is achieved by the features specified in claim 1.

In the case of a vascular sealing machine according to the invention, no mechanical contact between the unprocessed crown caps and a stripping edge or the like is required. Rather, the crown corks are moved away from the closing heads in a contactless manner against the force of the holding magnets by the magnet or magnets of the stripping device. This also applies if the crown corks do not or only slightly protrude downwards relative to the lower end face of the closing heads.

In the simplest case, a strong magnet, which is arranged at a sufficient distance below the movement path of the closing heads, is sufficient so that it can hold a certain number of crown caps. From time to time, he has to be manually removed from the accumulated crown caps. It is also conceivable to use a plurality of magnets rotating on a closed path synchronously with the closing heads, each of which can remove a crown cap from a closing head. The crown caps can then be removed from the rotating magnets using a fixed scraper.

It is particularly expedient if, according to the developments of the invention specified in claims 2 and 3, the closing heads themselves are used for the transport and centering of the unprocessed crown caps. On the one hand, this ensures an exact, trouble-free transport of the unprocessed crown caps from the sealing area to the stripping device. On the other hand, the possibility is created in a simple manner to ensure reliable removal of the removed crown caps by means of a plurality of fixed magnets and a fixed slideway. Corresponding developments of the invention are specified in claims 4 to 14.

Läuft der Rotor 17 in Richtung des Pfeiles 18 kontinuierlich um, so beschreiben die senkrecht ausgerichteten Verschließköpfe 1 eine kreisförmige Umlaufbahn 19.The vessel closure machine shown only partially in FIGS. 1 and 2 is designed for closing beverage bottles, not shown, with metallic, magnetically influenceable crown caps 3. It has a drum-like rotor 17 with a vertical axis of rotation, on the circumference of which a plurality of closing heads 1 are arranged so as to be vertically movable in a controlled manner. If the rotor 17 rotates continuously in the direction of the arrow 18, the vertically aligned sealing heads 1 describe a circular orbit 19.

As shown in FIG. 2, each closing head 1 has a rotationally symmetrical closing cone 20 on its underside, in the interior of which a cylindrical ejector 21 is spring-mounted and can be moved in height. The ejector 21 is provided on its lower, horizontal end face with a holding magnet 2 for a crown cap 3. In its lower end position, the lower end face of the ejector 21 is somewhat higher than the lower end face of the closing cone 20 or the closing head 1. This forms a recess 10 which completely receives the crown cork 3 fixed by the holding magnet 2 without it protruding downward . On the back of each capping head pointing counter to the direction of rotation of the capping heads 1 a cam-shaped driver 9 projecting downward is formed. The drivers 9 are located in the center of the orbit 19 and are substantially narrower than a crown cork 3 in their dimensions lying transversely to the direction of rotation. The recesses 10 ensure an exactly centered cork seat, while the drivers 9 provide a positive, at any point in the orbit 19 reliable transport of crown caps 3 is possible.

Anschließend laufen die Verschließköpfe 1 im allgemeinen leer zurück zur Zuführeinrichtung 4, wo sie wiederum mit Kronenkorken 3 bestückt werden.1 and 2 also has a feed device 4 for the crown corks 3, in which the crown corks conveyed in a chute 22 are moved into a joining channel 23 by means of transport elements, not shown, from where they are torn away by the drivers 9 and with the cooperation the holding magnet 2 are inserted into the recesses 10. The capping heads 1 thus equipped with crown corks run to the capping zone, not shown, where the crown corks 3 are pressed against the bottle mouths and flanged by controlled lowering of the capping heads 1. Then the closing heads 1 run generally empty back to the feed device 4, where they are again fitted with crown caps 3.

Viewed in the direction of rotation of the sealing heads 1, immediately before the feeding device 4, a stripping device 5 is arranged for crown caps 3 which have not been processed in the sealing zone, for example as a result of the lack of the corresponding bottles, and therefore run back in the direction of the feeding device 4. The stripping device 5 has a horizontal plate 15, in which the feed device 4 is also integrated and which is supported by two vertical columns 24 fixed, not shown upper part of the vessel closure machine is removably attached.

In the plate 15 concentrically and centrally to the orbit 19, an arc-shaped, groove-shaped slideway 11 is incorporated, the width of which is slightly larger than the diameter of a crown cap 3. The slideway 11 is inclined slightly obliquely downward in the direction of rotation of the closing heads 1. The higher starting area of the slideway 11, the length of which corresponds approximately to a cork diameter, is arranged at a short distance below the orbit of the closing heads 1 and is slightly less inclined than the subsequent area. In the area around the driver 9, the slideway 11 is provided with a groove-shaped recess 12, into which the driver 9 plunges with play.

In the initial region of the slideway 11, a magnet 6, 7 designed as a cylindrical permanent magnet is fastened on both sides of the recess 12 from below in the plate 11 such that its upper end face lies just below the bottom surface of the slideway 11. The two magnets 6, 7 are strong enough to suddenly pull an unprocessed crown cap 3 against the force of the holding magnet 2 out of the recess 10 of a passing closing head 1 against the initial region of the slideway 11. This is shown on the right side of FIG. 2. Another, designed as a cylindrical permanent magnet magnet 8 sits in connection to the magnets 6, 7 in the middle under the orbit 19 or the recess 12, such that its upper end face lies just below the bottom surface of the recess 12. This magnet 8 keeps a crown cap 3 attracted by the magnets 6, 7 in contact with the inclined slideway 11, while it is advanced in the circumferential direction by the driver 9 immersed in the recess 12. The lateral guidance of the crown cap 3 takes place here through the vertical side surfaces of the slideway 11, which run from the higher starting area to the lower end area of the slideway 11.

Beginning at the upper end of the more inclined area, the slideway 11 is provided on both longitudinal sides with parallel guide elements 13, 14 which engage from above on the lower edge of the crown caps 3 in the form of narrow metal strips which are screwed onto the plate 15. The guide elements 13, 14 prevent the crown caps 3 from being lifted off; the drivers 9 can pass freely between them. The guide elements 13, 14 are extended beyond the lower end of the slideway 11 and, in the region of their extension, run downward in the shape of an arc through a passage opening 16 in the plate 15. The passage opening 16 is dimensioned sufficiently to enable an unimpeded passage of a crown cap 3. In the area of the magnets 6, 7 and 8, a crown cork 3 is pushed over the stationary slideway 11 by the driver 9 of the closing head 1 from which it has been pulled off. The conveying effect of the driver 9 continues beyond the magnet 8 until the crown cap 3 is essentially out of the effective range of all magnets. Subsequently, the one held down by the guide elements 13, 14 Crown cork 3 by the slope drive and its kinetic energy on the slideway 11 further down and through the passage opening 16 in the plate 15 and finally deflected downward from the bent ends of the guide elements 13, 14 to a collecting container, not shown. These ends can also be provided with lateral guide surfaces for the crown caps 3.
