Abstract
A system for transmitting and decoding biphase coded data added to a video signal, in the suppression intervals of the latter, for example for VPS, makes it possible to freely select the position of the transmission line with a fixed configuration of the decoder , so that in the case of VPS you can use any line, instead of the 16th line, which is important when introducing the system abroad. When multiple biphase data services are transmitted in the television signal, each data service receives a different start code. In the decoder, the video signal is transferred to the level discriminator, which acts as a data separator stage (2), or to the device (4) for checking the start-up code and to the device (5) for controlling the anti-coincidence, mounted downstream without any frame or line windowing. In other words, the start code, then the biphase faults of all the lines of videotext, as well as of all the lines of the video content, are checked. In order to exclude any possibility of confusion, all the 208 elements of the 13 useful bytes of a VPS biphase data line serve almost as an elongated, but not rigid synchronization word, which is distinguished from a random sequence by a greater factor. at 1030 during the two-phase anticoincidence check. To this end, all useful bytes are only admitted as being faultless and transferred from a temporary memory (6) to an output memory (8) only when no anticoincidence fault has been detected from the code of start recognized until the last useful bit at the end of the data line.
