Description
- The object of this invention is an orbital brushing and polishing machine. This invention finds particular even if not exclusive application as a motored device for brushing, cleaning, washing and polishing surfaces as: stairs, walls, wainscots, doors, lintels, colonnades, cornices, doorposts, wall to wall carpeting, armchairs and pavements.
- In the prior art brushing machines or orbital polishers that brush or polish are generally used with specific functions or for brushing or polishing.
In particular, orbital polishers with interchangeable pads are known (eg.DE-B-1 101709 KURT STOLL KG which corresponds to the preamble of claim 1).
Generally, polishers and brushing machines are similarly of a rotary type, that however do not have an orbital movement and to compensate, utilize one or more brushes (generally three) disposed as in an isosceles triangle, or only one brush. The same are endowed with a jointed handle that permits the polisher to scroll on the floor.
Portable sanding polishers are also known that can be moved by hand, which are endowed with an orbital movement and include a pad that may be interchanged. These machines are usually used in professional sectors for industrial polishing of produced objects, but more particularly for sand papering varnished surfaces of wood objects for the respective finishing etc. Exists, therefore, a lack in the intermediate sector of a simple light weight apparatus which can be easily portable and can work with both a long handle on the floor and with a short handle for more various surfaces. - The aim of this invention is to obviate to the above-mentioned drawbacks and also, in particular, to allow the same apparatus to brush, clean, wash and polish surfaces.
- This and other aims are reached with this innovation according to the characterizing part of the main claim.
- Advantageously, an interchangeable handle may be associated to the group so obtained, which has a fork-shaped end of which lower extremes can be pivoted in a contraposition on the horizontal axis for a free or fixed inclination.
- With this solution we obtain a apparatus according to the established aims, simple, reliable and multifunctional that allows the washing, brushing and polishing of any surface. Multifunctional, inasmuch that we can work with different handles and we can use it also for hidden surfaces unlikely accessible to rotary brushes, as for example, angles.
- These and other advantages are disclosed by the specified successive preferential solution description of realization with the help of the following drawings of which execution details not are to be considered limitative.
Figure 1 represents a perspective view of the brushing and polishing machine with a short handle to be used only as a polisher with pads.
Figure 2 represents a view of the brushing and polishing machine while working with a long handle and also with a tank for liquids for washing functions.
Figure 3 represents a view of the three utilizable handles of the brushing and polishing machine.
Figure 4 represents an enlarged view of another version of the brushing and polishing machine according to invention in which the orthogonal fixed handgrip is realized in a different way, or directly obtained from the connection of the two cover casings.
Figure 5 represents a sectional view of the head of the support for the brushes or pads and the orbital rotatory motion transfer by means of an eccentric, and relative supply system of the liquid to the brush/pad. - Referring to the Figures, it is disclosed that the interchangeable handles are indicated with
numbers
They can be interchanged by means of theknobs 4 on the milling ofcoupling 43.
The short handle provides a sheath coating 1 and can dispose of a means ofattachment 3, for example, for small tank.
The motor is arranged coaxially 22-23-44-19-20-15-17-16-24-10-13, and its switch is placed in an upward position 11-6, everything covered by the opposite protection covering 5-27-3-37-18-7-45-14-15. - Obviously, the switch may be placed also laterally being that its position doesn't effect the functioning of the invention.
Electricity is supplied by means of a flexible cable and an outlet plug 8-10-11-9.
The liquid sent to the brushes or pads by thedistributor 115 of the brush orpad supporting plate 48, is supplied by means of the flexible tubes 30-29-28-27-26-25-33-32-31.
Thebrushes 42 are interchangeable with thepads 41 and we can provide a structure to cover thebrushes 20.
The motor is advantageously endowed with a ventilator andtransmission shaft 101 byplate 102,spacer 110 andcounterweight 105, Everything is clamped by theclamping ring 111 and the movement is transmitted, by means of an eccentric and arespective spacer bearings 113, to a brush/pad holder which includes a clamping flange forbearings 112 that clamps the filtering and distribution plate with bolts 48-115 associated to the brush/pad holding plate 20, together to the dish-shaped base 116 that oscillates orbitally.
The upper plate fixed to themotor 102 is connected to the lower oscillatingbase 116 by a flexible coupling inrubber 37 clamped by metallic bands 36-34-35.
Theholes 115 have an anti-spray function and can include an interchangeable filter.
The brush holder/padholder plate group 20 together with that of distribution andfiltration 48 and respective brushes or pads 41-42, are thus free to rotate in one orbital movement but they are not necessarily obliged to rotate.
The handle is conveniently shaped like an "U" over-turned and the respective ends are like that of a fork with opposite pivoting on the horizontal axis in the ensemble of the apparatus in order to supply a oscillating coupling with free inclination.
We can note that according to invention the short orthogonal handle is indicated with 101 and can, as said, be obtained by the connection of the two cover casings (fig.4) or by the structure and the same can support also theliquid distributor 20B-29 (Fig.1).
The last handgrip may be advantageously also demountable (screwable handle).
