Abstract

In the case of a device for mechanically positioning and pushing elastic sealing plugs onto electrical cables, a transfer element is required which temporarily holds the sealing plugs which are passed to the end of a linear conveyor and are sorted in a row, and is then moved into alignment by means of a plunger which pushes said plugs out of the holders onto the cable end. In order to provide a cost-effective, space-saving device, it is proposed to support the plunger in the region between the linear conveyor and the cable end such that it can rotate and to allow it to form the transfer element itself, at the same time, for the sealing plugs. In the first rotation position, the plunger is not only aligned with the sealing plugs which are fed correctly in the linear conveyor but also carries out an axial picking movement for skewering and removing the sealing plug. The plunger then pivots with the picked-up sealing plug into a second rotation position in which the picked-up sealing plug is aligned with the held cable end, and from where the plunger then pushes the sealing plug onto the cable end. <IMAGE>
