Das erfindungsgemäße Typschild mit den kennzeichnenden Merkmalen des Anspruchs 1 hat gegenüber herkömmlichen Typschildern an Handwerkzeugmaschinen den Vorteil, daß es dauerhaft lesbar bleibt, in der Farbwahl durch Anpassung an die Grundfarbe des Gehäuses ein großer Kontrast erzielbar ist und die Lesbarkeit des Schildes verbessert wird. Insbesondere ist auch eine Maschinenlesbarkeit des Typschilds erreichbar. Das Typschild hat den weiteren Vorteil, daß die Beschriftung durch das Schild selbst geschützt ist und die Gestaltung der Beschriftung viele Möglichkeiten offen läßt. Gegenüber geprägten Aluminiumschildern ist der Beschriftungsinhalt durch verschiedene Druckvorlagen leichter veränderbar. Durch die in den abhängigen Ansprüchen aufgeführten Maßnahmen sind vorteilhafte Weiterbildungen und Verbesserungen des im Anspruch 1 angegebenen Typschilds möglich. Besonders vorteilhaft ist es, die Beschriftung durch Verändern der rückwärtigen Oberfläche des Schildes aufzubringen. Dies kann durch verschiedene Verfahren, wie z.B. Heißprägen, Ätzen, Wärmebehandlung, Wasserstrahlschneiden, UV-Belichtung oder Laser-, Plasma- oder Elektronenstrahlbeschriftung erfolgen. Die Beschriftung kann aber auch vorteilhafterweise durch Umformen oder Zerspanen der rückwärtigen Schildoberfläche aufgebracht werden. Dazu eignen sich Fräsen, Grafieren, Ritzen, Prägen, Rollieren, Sand- und Kugelstrahlen. Darüber hinaus sind in vorteilhafterweise aber auch alle Druckverfahren anwendbar, wie Flexodruck, Lithographie und Tiefdruck. Das Typschild selbst besteht vorteilhafterweise aus einem transparenten Kunststoff wie z.B. Polyester, Polycarbonat, Polyvinylchlorid oder Polyethylen. Aber auch Glaswerkstoffe, die eine besonders harte, gegen Kratzer unempfindliche Oberfläche aufweisen, sind anwendbar. Die Beschriftung des Typschilds wird vorteilhafterweise in gegenüber der Farbe des Gehäuses kontrastreichen Farben, insbesondere Komplimentärfarben vorgenommen. Es sind aber auch floreszierende oder andere bei Lichtbestrahlung sich besonders hervorhebende Beschriftungsmittel verwendbar.
