Abstract

A description is given of an aeration and ventilation system of tankers, in particular road tankers, which contains a controllable aeration and ventilation valve (3) below the apex (2) of the tanker. According to the invention, the aeration and ventilation valve (3) is arranged directly below the apex of the tanker at the upper end of an ascending pipe (4) which is passed through the tank from the bottom of the tanker. By virtue of the invention, it is possible to avoid complex dome fittings and protection devices. This considerably increases the safety of the tanker in a collision. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a system for ventilation of tankers, in particular road tankers, according to the preamble of claim 1. Such a system is known, for example, from FR-A-1379210.

Road tanker tanks must be equipped with a ventilation system that ensures gas exchange with the filling station or the floor tank to be filled when filling or emptying the tank using the gas pendulum process. After the tank of the road tanker has been filled or emptied, the ventilation system is normally closed. However, breathing must remain possible when the tank pressure exceeds or falls below a predetermined pressure. In the event of a collision, for example after the tanker vehicle overturns, the ventilation system is usually subjected to a higher pressure than the pressure that leads to the ventilation system opening when breathing.

  • a) Beim Befüllen bzw.
There is usually a tilt valve on the top of the tank in an opening in the dome cover, which has various functions:
  • a) When filling or emptying the tank, the tilt valve is actuated pneumatically in such a way that a large cross section is released for high gas volume flows.
  • b) To breathe the tank (thermal compensation, degassing) spring-loaded pressure and vacuum valves are provided, which open an opening when a predetermined pressure is reached.
  • c) In the event of a collision, the pressure and vacuum valves are set to an increased opening pressure by an additional weight load.

Detonation and continuous fire protection usually follow the ventilation system. Distributor valves for reversing the ventilation follow.

The lines adjoining the tilt valve are usually led down through the tank compartments and end there at the gas collection or gas pendulum connection. However, it is also known to lead the lines downward around the outside of the tanker in order to avoid a complex construction inside the tank compartments. In any case, however, it is necessary to run lines from the ventilation system, which is attached to the top of the tank, to the underside of the tanker.

In order to mechanically protect the fittings on the top of the tank against external influences in the event of an accident, complex structural protection devices such as a dome trough or roll bar are required. It has also already been proposed to arrange the dome cover with attached dome fittings in the tank top so that the tank jacket itself assumes a protective function.

From DE-OS 29 14 738 a standpipe for a gas suspension line is known, which is connected at the upper end to a holder on the top of the tank, through which the standpipe is axially displaceable, but secured against lateral evasion. In this arrangement, the breathing valve is attached to the tank head, while the standpipe is used solely for gas oscillation and the sliding connection between the gas pendulum pipe and the breathing valve forms a surge protection.

Armatur als auch Rohr sind daher bei einem Umsturz des Wagens durch Unfall erheblich gefährdet.DE-U-8630947 describes a system for ventilation on tank trucks with a controllable ventilation valve in the top of the tank truck, which is connected directly underneath the top of the tank truck to the upper end of a pipe guided from the underside of the tank truck to the outside of the tank truck is. Valve and pipe are therefore at significant risk if the car overturns due to an accident.

The invention has for its object to provide a ventilation system for tankers, especially road tankers, which is inexpensive to manufacture with a simple structure and ensures increased security compared to known systems.

This object is achieved by the invention specified in claim 1 solved. Advantageous developments of the invention are specified in the subclaims.

The invention provides that the ventilation system is not, as in the prior art, attached to the top of the tank, in particular the dome cover, but is located at the upper end of a standpipe directly below the top of the tanker, which is vertical from the bottom of the tank Direction is passed through the tank. This results in considerable advantages over the prior art:
No ventilation opening is required in the tank top of the tank truck, since the ventilation pipes are arranged on the tank bottom of the tank truck together with the loading and unloading pipes. The ventilation system is secured by the top of the tank itself. The omission of the dome fittings increases the safety of the tank against leakage due to external influences. Neither roll bars nor dome tubs are required. The breathing valve can be simplified, since when the vehicle overturns, only the gas pressure in the gas space of the tank compartment has to be taken into account. There is no longer any static pressure on the ventilation system as soon as the standpipe is also filled with liquid when the tanker vehicle is overturned.

The detonation and permanent fire safety devices that are required for each tank compartment can be combined in a compact housing on the underside of the tanker vehicle and also contain gas collection or gas pendulum connections. This fuse can also be combined with the ventilation system to form a unit at the upper end of the standpipe.

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the ventilation system is arranged at the end of an at least right-angled bend in the upper end of the standpipe.

This prevents small amounts of liquid from getting into the standpipe before the corresponding valves are closed, but rather can flow out of the bent end again.

The control line for actuating the valves is preferably routed parallel to the standpipe, in particular within the standpipe. If the standpipe is guided in a larger arc through a tank compartment or is provided, for example, with an expansion sleeve, it can also be attached to the top of the tank to increase the stability without undesirable stiffening of the tank space.

The invention is explained in more detail below using an exemplary embodiment. Show it:

Dieses ist an der Tanksohle 5 durch die Tankwand hindurchgeführt.1 shows a tank compartment 1 through which a standpipe 4 is passed in the vertical direction. This is passed through the tank wall at the tank bottom 5.

The ventilation system 3 is arranged directly below the top of the tank 2 at the upper end of the standpipe 4. This can be constructed in a conventional manner, namely in particular have a valve function which releases a large cross-section when the tank compartment is emptied or emptied, the valve being controlled hydropneumatically. A second valve function is used to breathe the interior of the tank. This valve function contains spring-loaded pressure or vacuum valves that respond when a certain pressure is reached and release a smaller cross-section.

The increase in the respiratory limit pressure due to an additional weight load on the valve in the event that the vehicle overturns is not necessary for the subject of the invention, since in this case the system is not exposed to a higher static pressure than in normal operation and thus only an increased vapor pressure has to offer as soon as the standpipe is also filled with liquid.

The actuation line for actuating the valves is either routed parallel to the standpipe or within the standpipe.

In the standpipe, a detonation and permanent fire safety device constructed in the usual way is used, which either outside the tank space in the connecting piece of the standpipe, inside the tank immediately in front of the ventilation valve 3 or with the ventilation system Unit can be summarized.

The standpipe leads outside of the tank 1 to a distributor valve 6, which can be connected either to a gas manifold connection 8 with gas manifold 9 or to a gas pendulum connection 7 with gas pendulum line 11, depending on whether the tank is being filled or emptied.

Fig. 2 zeigt eine Detailansicht der Erfindung. Fig. 2 shows a detailed view of the invention. The standpipe 4 ends directly below the top of the tank and in an arc 12, at the end of which the ventilation valve 3 is arranged. This ensures that a surge of liquid possibly entering the standpipe 4 before the valve closes cannot get into the collecting lines, but can initially flow back out of the bend 12 into the tank.

Fig. 3 shows a holding shoe which is used for the vertical guidance of the standpipe 4, without this having any effect on the statics of the tank compartment. This ensures that the standpipe 4 is secured against horizontal tilting. The holding shoe 13 can consist, for example, of a ring attached to the top of the tank 2 and loosely guided around the standpipe 4, which prevents the standpipe from escaping to the side.

In order to ensure the functioning of the ventilation system according to the invention, it is necessary that the openings of the valves are located within the expansion space of the tank compartment filled with gas phase, so that the valves have to be arranged directly below the top of the tank.

The invention can be used not only on road tankers, but in particular also for tank wagons.
