Abstract

In a shower head for shower devices and bath devices having a water feed chamber (1) which has at least one outlet opening and is connected to the water supply, and a shower floor (71) which is connected downstream and contains the water jet nozzles, changing-over and/or altering the emerging shower jets takes place by means of a relative movement of the shower floor (71) with respect to the housing of the shower head, in order to improve and reduce the space required for the changing-over device it is proposed that the outlet opening (101) be arranged in a dividing wall (10) on a hole circle (102) parallel to the central axis of the shower head, on which dividing wall a water directing disc (2) is mounted, which has one or more openings (22, 23, 24) arranged on the upstream-side end side on a corresponding hole circle, at least one opening extending from the end side in the direction of the arc of the hole circle having an oblique recess (21), which acts as a restrictor surface, or a restrictor edge (210) so that continuously variable restriction of the amount of water flowing through at this opening can be set by means of a specific angle of rotation. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a shower head for shower and bath facilities, in particular a hand shower, with a water inflow chamber which is connected to the water supply and has at least one outlet opening and a downstream shower base which contains the water jet nozzles, one by a relative movement of the shower base to the housing of the shower head Switching and / or changing the emerging shower jets takes place, and one or more outlet opening (s) parallel to the central axis of the shower head is (are) arranged on a bolt circle in a partition wall, to which a water guide disc, one or more on the upstream end face on a has corresponding hole circle arranged openings, is attached.
A shower head of this type is known from US-A-4754928. The shower spray setting is made here by means of nozzle openings arranged in two rotatable disks, the rotational position of the two disks relative to one another being able to be determined by the user with a rotary handle led out laterally from the shower head via a gearwheel gear. This gear transmission arrangement is relatively complex.

Furthermore, a shower head is known from German patent DE-C-3047336, in which the changeover is carried out with the aid of a piston arranged in a sleeve, which is arranged so as to be axially movable and cooperates with radial openings in the wall of the sleeve. In particular because of the displaceable piston, this device requires a relatively large amount of axial space, which is particularly undesirable in the case of hand showers.

The invention has for its object to improve the switching device specified in the preamble of claim 1 and in particular to design such that a simple adjustment of the water flow rate at the shower head is made possible with simple means.

This object is achieved with the features of claim 1 or 2.
Further refinements of the invention are specified in claims 3 to 9.

The switching device according to the invention can advantageously be used in hand showers with three different shower jet generating devices, namely a device for generating shower jets interspersed with air, a device for generating pulsating shower jets and a device for generating normal or full shower jets.
For full shower jets, two diametrically opposite openings in the form of a radial slot with throttle surfaces arranged on both sides can expediently be formed, the throttle surfaces being able to extend over an angle of 90 ° in each case. In each case offset by 90 ° to the radial slots, an opening can then be formed in the end face of the water guide disk, which is connected on the one hand to a device for generating shower jets from a mixture of water and air and on the other hand to a device for generating pulsating shower jets . Alternatively, instead of throttling surfaces, throttling edges can be provided on the end face, which preferably delimit the circumference of the end face of the water guiding disk in a curved manner.
The openings on the face of the water guide plate are expediently placed so that a complete shut-off of the water flow is not possible, for example to avoid impermissible pressure loads in the shower head and the feed line.

For the sake of simplicity, the same or corresponding elements are provided with the same reference numerals in the exemplary embodiments in the drawing.
The shower head shown in the drawing in FIG. 1 is part of a hand shower, the handle with the hose connection being located behind the plane of the drawing. Of course, the shower head can also be used for a stationary shower, in which case, instead of the handle, a connection part to be provided coaxially with the central axis 3 of the shower head must be provided for the water supply.

In the shower head shown in Figure 1, a water supply chamber 1 is arranged upstream, which is guided through the handle, not shown in the drawing, and has a connection option for the hose line. On the downstream side of the water supply chamber 1, a holding pin 11 is welded in coaxially to the central axis 3 of the shower head. On the retaining pin 11, a partition 10 acting as a sealing washer is non-rotatably arranged. The dividing wall 10 has an outlet opening 11 with an elliptical cross section on a bolt circle 102, as can be seen, for example, from FIG. 3 of the drawing.
On the downstream end of the partition 10, a water guide disc 2 is rotatably mounted on the holding pin 11, the axial securing device being produced by a fastening screw 20 which can be screwed into the holding pin 11. The water guide disc 2 has, on a corresponding bolt circle 102 on the upstream end face, four openings arranged symmetrically to one another for the discharge of the incoming shower water, as can be seen from FIGS. 3, 5, 7 and 9. Two diametrically opposite openings are made as radial slots 22 in the end face, an obliquely arranged throttle surface 21 being formed on both sides. Each of the radial slots 22 extends together with the two throttle surfaces 21 over an angular range of 90 °. The maximum depth or depression of the throttle surfaces 21 is approximately 0.3 the width of the radial slot 22.
There is an inlet 23, 24 designed in accordance with the cross section of the outlet opening 101, offset from the two diametrically arranged radial slots 22. Concentric to the two inlets 23, 24 there is a groove 25 in the end face for receiving an O-ring 26 embedded.
At the downstream area of the water guide disc 2, an annular chamber 4 with jet nozzles 42 is provided concentrically to the central axis 3 for generating a normal or full shower jet. A further annular chamber 5, in which nozzles 52 for generating shower jets, which consist of a mixture of water and air, is provided concentrically with the outer annular chamber 4. Finally, a chamber 6 is formed centrally on the downstream region of the water guide disk 2, in which a device with nozzles 62 for generating pulsating shower jets is arranged.

The shower head works as follows:
In the rotational position of the water guide disc 2 shown in FIG. 1, the inflowing shower water passes through the outlet opening 101 of the partition wall 10, the outlet opening 101 being located vertically above a radial slot 22, as can be seen in particular from FIGS. 3 and 2 of the drawing. The inflowing water is in this case deflected radially outward in the radial slot 22 and in this case reaches the annular chamber 4 via an inlet channel 41 in accordance with the arrows 7 Normal shower jets emitted. In this position, which can be seen in particular from FIGS. 2 and 3, the outlet opening 101 is in the maximum opening position. If the shower base 71 is now rotated with the aid of its side surface, the outlet opening 101 passes increasingly onto one of the throttle surfaces 21, so that a reduction in the water flow rate is now increasingly achieved, as is shown in particular in the drawing Figures 4 and 5 can be seen. The hardness of the normal or full shower jet can be varied through the optionally adjustable throttling of the water flow rate. The infinitely variable flow regulation makes it possible to produce normal or full shower jets from soft to hard, with a high exit speed.
If, on the other hand, shower jets are to be generated from a mixture of water and air, the water guide disc 2 is to be turned into a position by means of the side wall of the shower base 71, as can be seen in FIGS. 8 and 9 of the drawing. In this rotational position, the outlet opening 101 is located vertically above the inlet 23. In this case, the O-ring 26 seals the other jet generation systems of the shower head. The water supplied via the outlet opening 101 thus arrives directly in the direction of arrow 7 into an inlet channel 51 and from here into the annular chamber 5. The shower water supplied is then spray nozzles 52, which consist of a water-air mixture, from the nozzles 52 released into the open.
If, alternatively, a pulsating shower jet is to be generated with the shower head, the water guide disc is to be moved into a rotational position with the help of the side surface of the shower base 71, as can be seen in FIGS. 6 and 7 of the drawing. In this position, the outlet opening 101 is located vertically above the inlet 24. The sealing to the other shower jet generating devices takes place here with the O-ring 26. The shower water introduced is thus in the direction of arrow 7 via the outlet opening 101 directly through an inlet channel 61 of the chamber 6 fed and emitted from here via the nozzles 62 as pulsating shower jets.

The openings formed on the end face of the water guide disc 2, namely the two radial slots 22 with the associated throttle surfaces 21 and the inlets 23, 24, are arranged such that a minimum amount of shower water can emerge from the shower head in each rotational position. This ensures that impermissible pressure loads in the area of the shower head and the shower water supply as well as water hammer generated by a quick changeover are avoided. On the other hand, the arrangement of the sealing rings 26 in the area of the inlets 24 and 23 ensures that each shower jet generating device of the shower head can be operated separately without leak water escaping through the other jet generating devices.

A modified embodiment of the water guide disk 2 is shown in FIGS. 10 to 13. Instead of the radial slots 22 with the associated throttle surfaces 21, curved throttle edges 210 are formed on the end face wall, which, depending on the rotational position over a certain angle of rotation, enables an approximately continuous reduction or enlargement of the passage cross section of the outlet opening 101. FIGS. 10 and 11 show the passage cross section in the fully open position, in FIGS. 12 and 13 in a throttled position. The throttling process extends approximately over an angle of rotation of 60 °.
