Abstract

A novel paddle wheel, especially a scooping wheel, for hot pasty or solidifying liquids such as, for example, aluminium dross or slag, is disclosed, the paddle wheel being formed with a scooping part 1 and an agitator part 2, the two parts being arranged with a mutual offset of about 180 DEG , and their acting surfaces mutually overlapping in the liquid bath 3. The parts of the scooping part or agitator part dipping into the liquid have, at the point of immersion, edges having a breast angle greater than 90 DEG and a clearance angle greater than 0 DEG . The edges are arranged in such a way that they make a drawing cut away from the end faces when dipping into the liquid. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a paddle wheel for hot, mushy liquids such as e.g. Paddle wheel for aluminum dross or slag or sludge in pelletizing systems.

It is known (DE-A1 1,920,605) that hot melt such as e.g. Take out slag and further process this hot pulpy liquid. Such scoop wheels are subjected to very high thermal stress and mostly work under red-hot conditions in which the strength is reduced, so that relatively small forces are sufficient to achieve deformations of the paddle wheel or scoop wheel. Such overloads are caused, inter alia, by caking, which leads to periodic stripping of the protruding caking and thus to impact forces which increase the loads and thereby impair the functionality of the impeller. The phenomena with solidifying liquids are even worse, e.g. Aluminum dross or slags, which usually have an inhomogeneous melting point or melting range, so that solidified liquids float island-like in the hot liquid, or a more or less firm skin forms on the liquid at all.

The invention has set itself the task of keeping such formation as low as possible by tearing, so that caking occurs less easily and the movement resistance is thereby reduced. The invention is characterized in that the paddle wheel axially offset and overlapping parts - has at least one scooping part and a stirring part, which are arranged on radial arms and are alternately guided along a circular path and immersed in the hot liquid to be processed. In particular, the scooping part and the stirring part are arranged separated from one another by approximately 180 ° with effective areas overlapping in the liquid bath, and preferably cutting on the scooping part and / or on the stirring part are cuts with a breast angle greater than 90 ° and a clearance angle greater than 0 ° with a pulling cut away from the end faces provided.

The invention is shown, for example and schematically, in FIGS. 1 to 5, a paddle wheel in cross-section in FIG. 1 and an associated elevation in FIG. 2. 3 shows the cutting edge formation of the part immersed in the liquid, FIG. 4 shows a view from direction A in FIG. 1 and FIG. 5 shows a view from direction B in FIG. 1.

In Fig. 1 the paddle wheel is visible in a cross-section, and you can see the scoop part 1 just immersed in the liquid 3 and the stirring part 2 arranged opposite the axis of rotation 4, which is outside the liquid and after a half turn around the axis of rotation 4 according to arrow 7 in the liquid will dip.

From Fig. 2, the corresponding elevation to Fig. 1, it can be seen that the stirring part 2 overlaps the scooping part 1 in the direction of the axis of rotation 4 (reference numeral 8), whereby the skin formation in the area of the scooping part is torn and scooping part 1 with a high probability is not subjected to excessive stress when immersed through strong skin. Since in most cases the slag or dross liquid is close to the solidification point or in the solidification area, the immersed parts are due to the Temperature difference between the bath and the immersed part prone to caking, so that by forming the immersing edges as cutting for permanent tearing of the skin formed, a reduction in the strength stress is possible. Thus, the breast angle 5 and also the clearance angle 6 of the plunging edges are shown in FIG. 3, the breast angle 5 being greater than 90 ° and the clearance angle 6 being greater than 0 °. For this purpose, the cutting edges are intended to produce a pulling cut and the solidifying masses are transported away from the contact surfaces of the cutting edges. This can be seen particularly in FIGS. 4 and 5, in each of which a view from direction A or B is shown with reference to FIG. 1.

In the individual figures, the direction of rotation is also indicated by an arrow 7 and the overlap of the scooping part 1 with the stirring part 2 by the reference numeral 8.
