- the holder for the oil cooler 3 consists essentially of the two brackets 8, which are arranged between the bearing brackets 6, the legs 21 of the brackets 8 being directed towards one another.
- a cooler housing 11 contains on its two longitudinal sides two superposed pins 12 and 12a, via which the cooler housing 11 is suspended in the brackets 8.
- a first pin 12 is received by a bore of a cylindrical pipe section 9 and the second pin 12a by a rubber bushing 13, which is seated in a bore of the bracket 8.
- a spring 14 is shown, the one hand on a projecting tab 15 of the bearing block 5 and the other z. B. is hinged to a tab 16 of the console 8.
- This tab 16 is part of the console 8 and is bent outwards at right angles to the angled leg 21.
- the spring 14 is preloaded and pivots the cooler 3 in the direction of travel F about a pivot axis 17 formed by the bearings 10.
- the rotary movement triggered by the spring 14 in the direction of arrow 23 at a stop 19 of the bearing angle is triggered by a tab 18 on the first leg of the bracket 8 6 supported.
- the spring 14 is preferably designed as a spiral tension spring; however, other elastic elements can also be used. If these are mounted on the side opposite the stop 19 between the console 8 and the bearing block 5, then pressure elements can also be used.
- the springs 14 pivot the brackets 8 with the cooler 3 about the axis of rotation 17 in the direction of travel F against the stops 19 and hold the brackets 8 there by the biasing force of the springs 14.

Description
The invention relates to a holder for a cooler according to the preamble of
Radiators for motor vehicles are mounted just behind the body panels for reasons of flow, so that even with slight deformations of these panel parts, as e.g. occur in a rear-end collision that affects the radiator. Due to the elasticity of the cladding parts, due to their elastic properties, they can spring back into their starting position without permanent deformation. In oil coolers, which are usually attached below the bumper and are therefore often exposed to lighter contacts with curbs and the like, there is a possibility of damage as a result.
From DE-A 34 46 752 a holder for an oil cooler of a motor vehicle is known, which is pivotally mounted about an axis arranged transversely to the direction of travel and is held in the lower area by means of a rubber strap fixed to the vehicle. The disadvantage here is that several vehicle-fixed fastening points are required for this holder and the rubber strap also does not immediately release the radiator in a rear-end collision and the like, but only from a certain force on the radiator, which depends, among other things, on the temperature and the aging condition of the rubber tears and must be replaced.
The object of the invention is to provide a bracket of the type mentioned, which ensures that the radiator remains undamaged and functional in the event of an impact of the trim or the bumper.
According to the invention, this object is achieved by the features of
The holder according to the invention is advantageously connected to the vehicle only via a pivot axis formed by two bearings. In addition to the two attachment points of the swivel axis, no additional attachment point is required and the construction effort is thus reduced. The cooler is positively mounted in the brackets and these brackets are held in their working position by springs. This reduces the assembly effort (larger tolerances, no alignment) and the number of connection points, which can be unintentionally loosened by vibrations, for example. In the event of an impact, the cooler is deflected elastically and evenly against the spring force. Damage to the cooler due to force peaks, which occur, for example, when a rubber strap is torn, is avoided.
In the drawing, an embodiment of the invention is shown, which is described in more detail below.

In Fig. 1, a
In Fig. 2 a lower cross member 4 of the
The holder for the
In the side view (Fig. 3), a
The
The flexible connection of the radiator housing 11 to the engine via two connecting lines is not shown.
In the example shown, the
In the basic position G, the
In the event of an impact of the elastic covering
