Abstract
It is a method for abatement of noise caused by steam blowing process upon manufacturing zinc-plating steel pipes (3); in the method, a steam-blowing outlet (4) is closely connected with one end of a zinc-plating steel pipe (3); a separator (7), a condenser (10), and a vacuum pump (14) connected in regular sequence with the steel pipe so as to abate a noise caused by steam blowing process upon making a zinc-plating steel pipe (3).
Description
- The present invention relate to a method of abatement of noise generated upon conducting a Steam blowing process. Particularly to a method for abatement of noise caused by Steam-blowing process upon making a Zinc-plating steel pipe.
- In recent years, the environment protection concept has been upheld and concerned by the public as a result of gradually becoming worse and worse in our environment condition. The environment contamination is mainly caused by city construction or manufacturers. In case of such a contamination causing any damage or loss, a dispute or boycott action will be taken by the rear by public. Any such dispute or boycott would jeopardize the social activities and manufacturer's normal operation. For instance, there was a factory had which generated a noise, during the steam blowing process, ranging from 95-130 db, the residents nearly declared a strong protest against the factory; since the factory gave no response to satisfy the public,a further strong action such as try to stop the production of the factory was taken by the public; finally, both sides were bothered. For the time being, the only method of solving such noise problem is to construct a noise-isolating wall to present the noise from transmitting out of the factory; however, the cost of making a noise-isolating wall is rather high aside from the noise-isolating result being not satisfactory. Finally, that factory did not use that method.
- According to the present invention, a cone-shaped steam-blowing outlet is furnished to closely connect with one end of a zinc-plating steel pipe, while a cone-shaped steam inlet operated with an extension pipe is closely connected to the other end of a zinc-plating steel pipe: while a cone-shaped steam inlet operated with an extension pipe is closely connected to the other end of a zinc-plating steel pipe; therefore, the steam with residual zinc powder will be conveyed into a separator with whirling wind therein so as to have the zinc powder separated from the steam, and exhausted from the bottom of the separator; the steam is to be exhausted from the top of the separator to enter in the receiving tank under the condenser. The upper end of the condenser is connected with a vacuum pump, whereby the pressure in the pipe system can be lowered about 300 torr so as to remove the backing pressure in the pipe system, and to reduce the eddy effect of steam in the pipe system in order to increase the blowing efficiency. By means of the aforesaid method, the noise caused by the steam blowing can be minimized.
- An embodiment of this invention is described by way of example. With reference to the drawings in which:

- Referring to FIG.1, the embodiment according to the present invention comprises a cone-shaped steam-blowing
outlet 2 being closely connected with zinc-platedsteel pipe 3 to be treated, a cone-shaped steam inlet 4 being closely connected with the tail end of the zinc-platedsteel pipe 3; the cone-shaped outlet 2 andinlet 4 are so designed that they can adapt to various diameters ofsteel pipes 3; anextension pipe 5 is connected with the cone-shaped steam inlet 4; the length of theextension pipe 5 can be adjusted with apneumatic cylinder 6 so as to closely fit a zinc-platedsteel pipe 3 having a given length. - A boiler (not shown)provides a steam having a pressure of 5-7kg/cm to pass through a steam pipe 1 and a cone-shaped steam-blowing
outlet 2 and to pass, at a high speed, through the zinc-platedsteel pipe 3 so as to remove the zinc powder left therein; then, the steam and zinc powder will pass through the cone-shaped steam inlet 4 and theextension pipe 5 and enter aseparator 7, whereby the zinc powder is separated and exbausted together with water out of the lower end 8 of the separator, while the steam is exhausted out of the upper end 9 of the separator to enter in acondenser 10; then, the steam will convert into water, which flows, out of alower outlet 13, into a receivingtank 15. Theupper outlet 12 of thecondenser 10 is connected with avacuum pump 14, whereby the air pressure in the pipe system can be maintained at a pressure lower (about 300 torr) than one atmosphere pressure so as to increase efficiency of removing the residual zinc powder in the steel pipe, and to reduce the eddy effect of steam in the pipe system. Since the pressure inside the pipe system is lower at one atmosphere pressure than the ambient atmosphere, the water in the receivingtank 15 has to be exbausted with awater pump 17. In order to maintain a given amount of water in the receivingtank 15 to prevent air from entering thetank 15, awater level controller 16 is installed in thereceiving tank 15 for maintaining a given low level. - In the present invention, a
separator 7 is used for removing the residual zinc powder so as to prevent the zinc powder from blocking the pipe system, and for converting the high speed steam into water, and for reducing the steam-blowing noise below-65 db from a rogue 95-130 db. Under that noise level, the public would not feel any noise. The aforesaid description of the resent invention is deemed much economic and effective method (in comparison with a noise-isolating wall). The present invention can solve the dispute between the factory and the residents in the vicinity of the factory,. By means of using the vacuum pump, the efficiency of removing the residual zinc powder can be increased about 15%, and therefore the noise will be reduced considerably.
Claims (1)
1. A method for abatement of noise caused by steam blowing process upon making zinc-plating steel pipe mainly comprising a cone-shaped steam-blowing outlet to closely connect with the front end of a zinc-plating steel pipe, an extension pipe having a cone-shaped steam inlet being closely connected with the tail end of said zinc-plating steel pipe; and said cone-shaped steam outlet and said cone-shaped steam inlet able to adapt to steam pipes having different diameters; and after a steam being blown through said steel pipe and a separator, said steam and a residual zinc powder in said steel pipe being separated each other so as to avoid a subsequent pipe system in said method being blocked with said zinc powder; and the steam separated being conveyed into a condenser for cooling into water which will then flow into a receiving tank; and a vacuum pump being connected to the upper end of said condenser in order to have the pressure in said pipe system become lower at one atmosphere pressure and to elevate the efficiency of exhausting the residual zinc powder in said steel pipe.
