Definitions
- the invention relates to a shower head for generating pulsating fluid jets, in particular for water massages, with the features specified in the preamble of claim 1.
- a shower head is known from US-A-4 089 471. In this case, only a liquid inlet opening with a correspondingly large cross section is provided, which can lead to malfunctions, in particular when the ball starts up.
- DE-A-33 33 327 a shower is known in which the shower jets emerge radially or in a star shape from the cylindrical jacket of the shower head. Due to the direction of the jet, this shower should not be very suitable for use as a sanitary hand or stationary shower.
- oral irrigators to provide an annular channel with a circumferential ball in the spray head, the fluid being introduced tangentially and the fluid exiting coaxially from the annular channel (US Pat. No. 3,736,923).
- the invention has for its object to improve the shower head according to the preamble of claim 1 and to design such that when used as a sanitary hand or stationary shower an optimal functionality and a relatively long service life is made possible.
- the shower head 1 shown schematically in FIGS. 1 to 3 essentially consists of a housing with a water inlet opening 10, a shower base 2 with an annular channel 3, a ball 5 and a nozzle disk 4.
- the shower head 1, shown approximately on a scale of 2: 1, can be both can be used as a stationary shower as well as a hand shower.
- the shower base 2 is partially tightly connected to the water inlet opening 10 by means of thread 11.
- the ring channel 3 is formed concentrically to the central axis of the shower head 1.
- a roller track 31 is provided for the ball 5 for the circumferential blocking of fluid outlet openings 30, so that an intermittent water jet is generated for showering and massage purposes.
- the runway 31 is toroidal, corresponding to the diameter of the ball 5, and has a width which is approximately twice the diameter of the fluid outlet openings 30 corresponds.
- the ring channel 3 is closed by the nozzle disk 4, in which nozzles 40 designed for the water inlet are arranged.
- the nozzles 40 designed as bores have an inclination 41 to the central axis of the shower head 1 of approximately 15 °, as can be seen from FIG. 3.
- a particularly favorable dimensioning of the shower head 1, as confirmed by tests, can be achieved if the average diameter 32 of the ring channel 3 is approximately 20 mm and the ball 5 has a diameter of approximately 10 mm.
- the ball 5 should be guided in the ring channel 3 with little play, the play between the nozzle disc 4 and the runway 31 of the shower base 2 being between 1/10 to 3/10 mm.
- five symmetrically arranged fluid outlet openings 30 in the runway 31 are designed as bores with a diameter of 2.5 mm and a bore length of approximately 6 mm.

- the shower head 1 with its changeover device 7 largely corresponds to the shower head shown in German Patent DE-C-30 47 336, but the shower base 2 is designed in accordance with the invention.
- the shower water is fed to the shower head 1 via a connector 12 and fed to the changeover device 7 via inlet openings 13.
- the changeover is carried out with a hollow piston valve 14, so that on the one hand a fluid outlet nozzle 6 arranged centrally in the shower base 2 is supplied with the inflowing water and generates a continuously escaping shower jet, as shown in the right half of FIG.
- a fluid outlet nozzle 6 arranged centrally in the shower base 2 is supplied with the inflowing water and generates a continuously escaping shower jet, as shown in the right half of FIG.
- only the annular channel 3 formed in the shower base 2 is supplied with water.
- the shower base 2 is firmly connected to the hollow spool 14 so that it carries out the axial movements in accordance with the hollow spool 14. In the position fully pushed into the shower head 1, as shown in the left half of FIG.
- a link 35 designed as a housing pin engages through an opening 42 in the annular channel 3 and stops the rotating ball 5 in such a position that shower jets can be generated continuously in all fluid outlet openings 30. In this position, the well-known, continuously emerging full shower jet is thus generated. If, on the other hand, the shower base 2 is pushed out of the shower head 1 by a partial area with the aid of the changeover device 7, the link 35 releases the circulation for the ball 5, but the hollow piston slide 14 is still in a position such that the entire inflowing shower water is above the Inlet openings 13 are fed to the ring channel 3, so that now pulsating shower jets are now emitted from the fluid outlet openings 30. Only after this, when the shower base 2 is pushed further out of the shower head 1 with the changeover device 7, does the incoming shower water change over, as can be seen from the right half of the figure in FIG.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a shower head for generating pulsating fluid jets, in particular for water massages, with the features specified in the preamble of
Such a shower head is known from US-A-4 089 471. In this case, only a liquid inlet opening with a correspondingly large cross section is provided, which can lead to malfunctions, in particular when the ball starts up.
Furthermore, from DE-A-33 33 327 a shower is known in which the shower jets emerge radially or in a star shape from the cylindrical jacket of the shower head. Due to the direction of the jet, this shower should not be very suitable for use as a sanitary hand or stationary shower.
Finally, it is known for oral irrigators to provide an annular channel with a circumferential ball in the spray head, the fluid being introduced tangentially and the fluid exiting coaxially from the annular channel (US Pat. No. 3,736,923).
The invention has for its object to improve the shower head according to the preamble of
This object is achieved with the features of
Further refinements of the invention are specified in
The arrangement of a plurality of nozzles in the nozzle disk which delimits the annular channel on the shower floor upstream provides a good seal of the fluid outlet openings with the ball, the floating of the ball in the annular channel being avoided in particular by the direction of the fluid flow according to the invention. By floating the ball in the ring channel, the shut-off or interruption effect of the ball to the fluid outlet openings is reduced or even canceled.

In the exemplary embodiments shown in the drawing, the same or corresponding elements are provided with the same reference numerals for the sake of simplicity.

The
The exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 4 includes a
